nice, thanks for posting the extra info ... the shoulder bell strap have a center point connection is common. i use that method but, the strap is not nearly as tight around my arm like it is in your pic there. maybe, they messed up this TD greeblie? i know i did when i first built my scout. and the rank stripes are another detail i wish they would ask about. how many does the customer want? 1-4-6 ? when you get to 6 stripes the width of the stripe gets smaller. compared to the 1 and 4 rank striped size. as well the placement of the rank stripes change. *uploaded some screen grabs of 3 different rank strips ... width and location are different

i mentioned "~ the cod piece arch/curved detail looks abit to rounded -- this looks like the gino scout detail" i agree with what you say too ... the seam is to high. even if they pull the belt/bund up with the size of the radius it makes it to high looking at the picture of the IB boots on their website the shaft seems to be wider at the top (ill post pic below) its concerning because not everyone is the same. this is a detail that really needs to be tailored for each customer, as with alot details on this costume. even my first pair of boots with giving someone the measurement was still to wide, i had to rip them apart and rebuild them. imagine all the details that need to be customized to the wearer that will have to be modified out the box! i feel they need to step back and stop trying to mass produce this costume. you really cant mass produce this costume and have proper looking scouts out there. we are going to end up with baggy looking, improperly fitted armor, 5 gallon bucket boot scouts. thank you for taking your time and taking pics and sending them my way and that is good to here the stitching is in the sleeve but, for basic if we do not see it quilted then it is an issue. the crl states: Raglan sleeves are padded and contain ribbing similar to the front of the cummerbund. so, seeing that the IB flak vest shoulders have the quilting like the cummerbund and sleeves do not this flak vest can not pass for basic! the entire sleeve needs to be quilted like the shoulder area is.

most recent pics coming from the brussels comicon(3-19) --- had a friend send these to me its getting there but, theres still some issues. esp. if one is trying to go for lancer and well, even basic wont pass with the way it is currently. my list will be made off of what i see with this current scout, @RS Prop Masters may change or fix some of these details ... and as always, we hope they will needs fixed for basic approval: ~ raglan sleeves / quilting on the sleeve is needed ~ 2" velcro closure for flak vest needed / cant see any stitching for this detail from the outside ~ 2" velcro closure for the cummerbund / it looks like its 1" ~ TD greeblies are backwards ~ there are a few more details listed in the "things to note" section below / im not putting them here as we cant see those details in the pics needs fixed for lancer: ~ boots / youll need new boots as IB boots have a 2 toned sole or figure a way to paint them? / and, we dont know the size of the velcro closure either ~ elastic for back tank looks to be 1" / not the 1/2" that is required ~ fix the cummerbund / this bund is to tall ~ back tank stripes for lancer only allows 1, 4 or 6 / in the pic they have 2 so, you will have to add more stripes ~ TD will need to be repainted light or medium grey / their color looks to dark ~ vents on holster cut out / its hard to tell in the pic if they are ~ blaster doesnt look to have the proper lense discs on the back of the scope / it looks like its flat in that area ~ there are a few more details listed in the "things to note" section below / im not putting them here as we cant see those details in the pics things to note // further inspection needed: ~ do the shoulder bells have the elastic strapping? ~ is the boot velcro closure 1" ? / this detail is needed for basic ~ it looks like the resized the pouches / will this be the new look for IB pouches? ~ the strapping on the legs have a weird pull to them / you can see what looks like the strapping going through the suede patch ~ thigh strapping looks tight / how are they going to size this detail to every customer ~ is the suede patch fixed and going around to the back of the thigh? ~ is the cummerbund rib stitching(quilting) 1" ? ~ elastic sizes on the armor / for lancer they will all need to be proper sizes. we already see the tank elastic is to big ~ helmet still has the gap on the side where faceplate(visor) meets the helmet ~ the cod piece arch/curved detail looks abit to rounded -- this looks like the gino scout detail ~ are they using a balaclava / is one even sent with the kit? ~ not sure how the strapping system will work out for the cod piece / most of use some velcro to keep this piece in place ~ with the tank strap being to wide, if they have secured the strap through the solid rivet then youll have to drill that out to replace the strap. and that is something most people will not want to take on. pros: ~ the side strapping closing back on it self is nice to see / although in the pic it look like its not connected but, you can see the stitching for the velcro ~ they are using the zip tie shoulder bell method mentioned here ~ shoulder bridge covers are nice ~ gloves look good / are they the new IB gloves? ~ the red stripe detail on the top of tank is nice ~ the pouches look alot better / hope this is their new standard feel free to comment and add to the post if you see something i missed please chime in ... and like i said above i hope RS can fix some of these details.

have a look at the original blaster. maybe, it will help you with some details good luck!
-
ahh, yeah ... i didnt even notice the thigh armor haha and the speeder bike pic is one i had looked at ... but, its flat, looking at the left side top edge from center, and looks rounded on the right side. angel issue? interesting ...
-
wheres the first pic from? and the other 2 are stunt armors? right? so could RS got their hands on stunt armor?
-
all other scouts have folded/heated armor then? i dont think so! theres a big difference in being round to being flat ... heating an folding wont make a flat area round and vise versa without a major change in appearance . all those scouts and more have a distinct flat area in the chest armor
-
heres RS's next to the dummy you can clearly see the chest is not right. the "V" is opened up pretty wide at the bottom of the chest ??
-
any full scout looks like the photo from the book with a flat neck area. if i remember right the bust pic is from the star wars costume book heres more screen used scouts with flat neck area the pic below is from Star Wars Helmets "Below, here's a great shot from Brinn 71 of him wearing one of the original Biker Scout costumes when doing some work for Lucasfilm a few years back ....."

someone brought this to my attention and ive been studying the pics and theres something odd with RS's armor, mainly on the front. so, scouts ... what armor is RS using? the front is different and the back has some things i see that are not the same ~ front is flat at the neck -- RS's is rounded at the neck ~ on the back right shoulder inside edge the screen used one has a slight curve or "s" if you look at it closely -- RS's is defined straight edge ~ and the open area(black section) looks abit bigger in the screen used ~ and then on the right back outside edge there is a bump/hump on the right edge on both sets and then we get to the "V" ~ at the top/neck line area of the RS armor the top of the "V" its round and doesnt come to the edge of the armor as well its wide ~ the screen used comes to a sharp point(not wide), it doesnt have a defined rounded edge and the "V" comes to the edge of the armor i marked the areas i mentioned above in the pics below.... so, your thoughts?

Possible Recaster Alert (copying MC Scout kit)
762s replied to MonCal's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
yeah, looks close to yours and while i was digging through his pics on his page ... i seen a familiar scout helmet. and that scout helmet looks an awful like cucblacks helmet, the back raised section really gives it away .. hhmmmm, wonder if its him? heres the 2 helmets. the white is what we know is cucblacks(old version, i believe, he has updated his helmet recently), the grey is this armour factory props ... look at the ear ridge/raised section and the vents area on the back. very similar. oddly similar ... recast, cucblack ? ? ? -

Imperial Boots Biker Scout Soft Parts
762s replied to Whiskey's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
@Whiskey i wonder if you have the first set of soft parts? a reason for the missing suede !??!?! RS says they made some changes ... i wonder if this was one of them? have you tried to contact IB or RS and see if this what they intended? we know there is suede on the back of the thighs but, the crl clearly misses that point .. both basic and level 2. so, anyone concerned about this, there is no need to be. -
its just funny to me how someone suggest cleaning up the edge and you do ... then someone suggest another detail to improve the look even more and you ask about requirements, what? if all your going for is what is required then why did you even clean up the edges in the first place? i was just trying to help your scout out ... wont happen again!
-
really?
-
looking good, your getting there ... try bringing the black up onto the flat part of the ridge. its goes a little less than half way onto the flat part

Imperial Boots Biker Scout Soft Parts

there are several issues seen with the "new" costume ... these issues go for basic and lancer approval. modding of the costume will be needed to get basic. -
BEST HELMET, BLASTER, AND GEAR FOR LANCER?
762s replied to FanboyNightmare's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
very best? accurate? lancer? well, since your saying lancer and accurate ... we should state that a non accurate helmet can be lancer. lancer does not mean your parts have to be screen accurate. atm there are 2 manufacturers who have made a helmet off of screen used helmets. so, you want accuarate helmet go with EFX or RS. do your research on them. and theres only 1 manufacturer who has made a blaster from a screen used blaster. thats EFX, and good luck getting your hands on 1 though(500 made/released ?, who knows) you can get lancer with alot of other manufactures armor/soft parts ... even fan made armor and soft parts will get you a lancer badge. -
i think thats how it with all the holsters ... i added a small piece of abs to the inside of my holsters(CFO/Strider and the SC) to hold the blaster.... the blaster doesnt move and wont come out now
-
well, i saw this a few weeks ago and havent seen anyone post anything about it. "We have updated our Chest, Back, Hump, Shoulders and Biceps to be even more movie-accurate. Beveled edges, indented strap holes and a new T-bit Greeblie!!!!" being i have owned some SC armor and would like to have seen these changes when i had my armor this is awesome news. glad to see the costume makers taking steps in improving their armor. SC has moved up the ladder with this move ... would love to see the new stuff and a comparison thread with the old armor. cant really tell much with the pic but, the tank looks a little longer(not so short) and the return edges are huge plus. anyways go have a look at their website or view the pic below.

sometime ago i started my build and decided to go with what was only known at the time as Strider's armor. i contacted Constantin and he told me he was working to make new armor and i was put on the waiting list for it. time passed(many months) and we finally heard word of the new CFO/Strider armor. i was surprised to find out i was first on the waiting list for the armor. i got my armor January '18 and was very pleased with it, during my build process i pointed out a couple things to Mark and Constantin that needed looked at. they looked over my concerns and choose to fix them. the molds where fixed and i got the new reworked pieces shortly after. well, I got approved, made lancer and started trooping. it wasnt but within a troop or two that I started seeing a couple more problem areas. again, i sent my concerns to them. i made fixes to my armor and and kept trooping. more troops, more issues and more fixes on my side. i put in some 20+ troops and really put the armor to the test. all in all there where about 7 things that i found while building and trooping their armor and I informed Mark and Constantin of all the issues. i sent them pictures and info and we talked back and forth. the lines of communication where always open and they talked among themselves to come up with proper fixes. well, all the talks, pics and my concerns where heard by Mark and Constantin. i got a BBB yesterday with the new thicker armor pieces. i can tell a big difference in the new stuff. wow! i must say, these 2 guys are top notch! i have never had a company deal with a customer as long as these 2 have dealt with me. for what almost a year now? well, for Constantin its been over a year since our first talk about your armor they gave me advice on how and why the armor issues where happening and even decided to make the armor stronger in the problem areas that we talked about. so, if anyone needs some confirmation on CFO/Strider armor here you go ... they have went above and beyond to make a customer happy and their product even better. for those getting this armor you will not be disappointed. Im so glad to have waited as long as i did to get this armor. and to have been able to work with them on making it even better. a big THANK YOU to the both of you ... Mark and Constantin ... you did it right and im proud to wear your armor!

actually, i have to disagree abit on some of what has been posted. yes, to be approved within the 501st you have to go by the crl. after you are approved you can makes changes and add to your costume (like adding a pauldron ... adding decals/logo onto your armor) but, those changes can only be done with your local commands approval. some areas overseas have imperial cogs on their chest, aurebesh writing on the shoulder bells ect. ect. and, some events may not want an individual customized character this will be up to your event lead to make it know to the poc(point of contact) for the event that there is a non cannon character and ask the poc if its allowed. at a LFL event there are NO changes allowed!! my areas command allows changes at some events ... yours may not. see the pics below of a known scout who has served in several garrisons with his changes and has been doing so for 10+ years. the last pic is of him and me at a recent event ... hes more weathered and beat up than ever
