Still need to enlarge some of the spots but I think we got a winner here, Dan Trippler's sponge method is easy and looks good:

Are the spots too rounded? Should they be more geometric shaped?

It´s gonna look darker/more subdued after sealing(I remember the distinct difference with the first paintjob) so what do you think? More spots(greens or browns)? OK like this?

Some more work done:

Got told the spots weren´t good and as everything was already sealed I couldn´t change any of it. So it was start over time. I´m on it again now that the good weather is coming, so keep an eye out for regular updates

So, I got the chest plate plate ready for the final weathering, I´ll see about matching it with the back in two days and sealing them both: (it´s actually a little darker than it looks on the screen) And finished weathering the gloves:

Its done with the Tamyia weathering kits, the "carbon scoring" looks so nice i´m gonna plant one or two blaster rounds on the chest...

Finished the front stencils, weathered and sealed Pics with and withour flash:

So, the sheet that comes with the kit is not full of decals, it´s stencils. We have to paint the markings on the helmet, how did I miss that in all the other posts I've read? ...now I gotta do the front... :shock2: :shock2: :shock2:

So what do you think, should I apply the decals+slightly weather with a thin film of brown spray then seal?

Hey Michael, went with a thin spray of brown so as to not make it so dark. Got some plates finished and sealed today: Also gave a little weathering on the boots: Straps drying on one of the leg pieces:

What other type of wathering should a I do? 1. Small film of spray(black and brown) to simulate dirt + soot? 2. Brown or black applied with brush then cleaned off with rags?

So, lets do some weathering! I´m starting with some silver(but not shiny) scratches like the CRL requests: What other weathering do you suggest?

First test fit of the straps looks good: So this made me think I have to finish the weathering to seal the paint and get the straps done...

Yes, full velcro on shirt! Regarding strands, will have to look into it later/next weekend when i put the pouches on for good...
