SC does such a nice job prepping their kits it's tough to remember sometimes that it's technically "rough trimmed". Go ahead and elongate those slots to the width that will accommodate the corresponding strap.

You've got 5 posts so you should be able to see the trade forum now. Do you have a link to what you were looking at on eBay? With eBay, it's always buyer beware. Have you considered making any of your own stuff? Modding coveralls, etc? That's definitely the most cost effective route.

The skinny part is loaded into the gun. As the gun is squeezed, the larger diameter part is pulled into itself, becoming about 2/3 short than it is originally. Then they skinny part snaps off and is ejected from the gun. It's a good idea to use washers on these rivets as well.

Those are the size you want. If you search "pop rivet gun" you'll see the tool. They're under $20.

For some dastardly reason they're always expensive on eBay. I saw one years ago at Spencer's of all places but I bought a TK, Fett, and Vader. It looked so wrong I was sad. If I only knew... Were you thinking about getting the armor and using the DP until you get a new bucket? I only ask because they can be made troopable, but it usually requires major modification. Try to upload your picture to photobucket and then copy the link here.

It kind of makes me nuts that they list it as a "Biker Scout" suit when it needs so much work. They do make nice stuff, but this misses the mark for what they sell it as.

Gaffer tape is more like a cloth tape. It has a matte finish to it, where duct tape can be kind of reflective. The gaffer tape would also be easier to remove.
