Congrats and welcome, Brother! Well done!

If you don't have PP, they have a form you can use to pay with a credit card through PayPal. Though I highly recommend a PayPal account as you head down the road of building a costume. It makes things much easier. I didn't want mine tied to a credit card, so I just load money into it via a moneypack you can get almost anywhere. Like a pre paid credit card, but it loads into your PayPal instantly.

The KS snout greeblie is incorrect, but like Mickey said, it's a very easy upgrade. It may depend on your GML, but I believe a KS can be approved as is, it's just a big enough difference and easy enough fix that just about everybody does it.

Like Wookievader shared, the "push n' pop" method really works well for clean cuts, and one i got a groove going I knocked out my cuts in a couple episodes of "Breaking Bad" Some folks use dremels, but I'd have to see it fine in person or a video to really grasp how they do it. I made a stinky, melted mess when I tried.

Well done, Brother! Welcome to the Pathfinders!

I've been on several of the Legion boards and they all have their own "flavor" if you will. BS.N is an incredible resource and troopers new and old are eager to help out. My Scout was approved last April and I still come back just about every day. Good peoples here. I'm glad you're all finding what you need. If you don't see it, just ask!

WW is the bomb. I have an XL pair for summer and an L for winter.

That side pocket is visible and needs to go for basic clearance. One could argue the chest pockets can stay since they're covered by the vest and chest armour, but I just used those to practice cutting the bar tacks without destroying the coverall.

I didn't use anything shiny for my sleeves, but it gains that appearance once the lines are stitched and the material tightens over the batting.

Looks much better. On the SC tank, you can see a very faint impression that can serve as a guide for those stripes, and it looks like you hit it. But yes, looking good!

Are these Palladium boots approvable?
stasz replied to Oberkisstillalive's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
They look very similar to the Lugz boots I've seen a few folks post about. I'm not sure if any of those boot builds were completed, or if they went another way. At a minimum, the sole needs to be painted unless they offer a "gum" sole (probably on a khaki version of the boot). They look workable, but not a lot of sole to work with so I'd plot out my pattern and cuts carefully. -
Have you guys seen the new toy Scouts get in Battlefront?
-
Yeah, the shorter set is for the tank. There was one picture floating around that had stripes on the holster. I think it might have been the same one that shows the holster strapped around the leg instead of rivetted to the boot.

I have a Hole in the Ground, and for the price it's a great piece. It is on the heavy side, but I never really put it in my holster and like the heft of it in my hand. I had just a couple small bubble holes to touch up, painted it and that's it. Eric over there is a good dude. He had just redone his mold when I got mine around 10 months ago. FYI I just ordered a TIE Pilot comm pad from him and he let me know they are all packed up for Rhode Island Comic Con so won't be able to ship anything out till next week. And it is true that you can't go wrong with a DVH if you want the Unbreakable Blasterâ„¢!

The vest sleeve should stick out *just* beyond the shoulder bell, and the bicep armor is just below that, so technically it's not over or under, it's just below. Your right bicep looks like it's coming down over the forearm a bit? Everything could probably come up just a touch. My vest sleeves are a little long and if I don't get stuff adjusted just right they end up over my bicep armor. Loss like you have a similar situation. I pull my sleeves back up under the bells a bit and the elastic holds it but it's a hassle. I have to bite the bullet and shorten them a 1/2 inch. Loss good though, Brother. That's a CB lid, right?

Friends with sewing machines = priceless!

It would be pretty easy to cinch up the bund and overlap to where it fits right, mark it and run a stitch down both sides leaving room for your 2" Velcro, cut off the excess and sew new Velcro. I see you've already got a new one coming, but if you wanted a backup or one to weather, it would be pretty easy to make it fit. The reality is, once you're suited up, walking around, kneeling down with kids, and sitting (Scout Perk!) Things are going to move around. I'm thinking more for your approval pictures you're going to really want everything just so.

Everybody knows I'm gonna say snaps I'm a snaps fan.
-
It looks like your right thigh box is lower than the left, but that might be because the belt is a little off kilter, and the bund is a little bunchy in the back, but overall it looks good, Brother! I think it's mainly a matter of practicing getting everything on and situated. Nice work. Keep the pics coming!

There are also a few 3D printer files floating around out there that look pretty good if you have access to a printer. That might save you some shipping.

I believe Jeff at SC sells the greeblies ala carte.

Backside Flap and placement of the bands around the upper leg.
stasz replied to Jakeputt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Agreed on the template being too narrow. I also think it's a bit misleading the way the CRL states "secured by 2" black elastic". The elastic doesn't "secure" anything. I sewed mine on the front and back, then sewed the riding patch exactly over the strap ends. It looks like they help attach the patches, but in fact do not. -

I've seen it both ways, but one piece is "screen accurate". When in doubt, refer to the CRL. As for the riding patches, it helped me to visualize how Scouts were actually positioned when riding speeders: leaning way forward, almost laying on the top of the bike. Being a "riding patch", you'd want more of your front thigh covered as that's what's contacting your ride. -
Barry with the assist! Well done. Scouts helping Scouts. I love it. Use Barry's pic for the ear reference as well. They're open more than you'd think. You're getting there!

Someday. I will find a pair of Sierras and devise a way to cast and retrofit a sole overlay to regular boots. This is my Grail. This is my quest.
