  1. Looks like the family pooch is also looking forward to the build:) Time to kick off your build thread!
  2. I have some extra 1.5" white cotton webbing that I can give you just shoot me a PM. I picked up a pair of Texas Steer boots from Kmart and I did the sole cuts using an X-Acto set. This thread might help you: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=14701.
  3. LW lids are extremely rare because they are no longer produced. If they ever do come up for sale they never last more than a few minutes on the Trade Forum.
  4. Hi Andrew. I'm 5'8" and I wear an Altmann's. You can see how it looks on my pre-approval thread (http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=15276) if you want to see the whole package together. It's a top notch lid. You might want to also look into the Chef lid too. So many lid choices for us Pathfinders!
  5. I believe that is just a DLT-19 with a scope. I think Hyperfirm makes a version of that and you can probably check out pics of it on their FB page. Here's a page from Side Show that has pics of the rifle from the 1/6 Scout: http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/sideshow/evg/scout-trooper-Sideshow-Collectibles-sixth-scale.html I think it's awesome that you're going to take on such an epic build and I look forward to seeing it.
  6. Maybe PM Spike and see if has extra decals just in case something gets buggered up. Shipping would probably be faster and a bit cheaper as well. Another option might be to create a template and paint the traps. Just a thought brother
  7. Congrats Lori! There was a patch run earlier this year but I believe that it's closed. A suggestion would be to get your profile updated with your 501st info and then head over to the 501st access thread here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showforum=82 and put in your request. That way you'll have access to those areas including the merch.
  8. I would stick with a large. When they come in you can gently remove the lining and then wear your cotton gloves underneath. I think if you go two sizes larger it might start to look a bit too long in your fingers.
  9. I would say remove them, trim off the lines and re-apply them to the lid and see what it looks like. When you look at the screen caps there isn't any black border on the traps the gray goes out to the edge. I'll bet that trimming them will work. You can then shoot a pic and send it to the Lancer committee and see if that will be acceptable.
  10. That was my concern too. The typical Rubies is much worse that that looked in the photo and there is no consistency to them. I don't think that's how it's going to look when it arrives.
  11. Hi Jennifer. The Rubies helmet would require major modifications to make it 501st approved. You can source a much better helmet from SC or an Altmann's from the Trade Forum. Those have good heritage and a lot of the scouts here wear them. You can find a lot of great information on helmets over in the scout armory under helmets.
  12. E6000 is the glue of choice for most. It's very forgiving and allows you to readjust parts if needed due to the longer cure time. Might also want to add some clamps as well to hold the parts while gluing.
  13. I would think that the only way to make the disappointment known is to just to let go of the lid and ask for a refund. After reading all the posts to this thread over the months you can be darn sure I won't be going to RS for anything armor related ever. Most companies don't get it until they get hit in the pocketbook. I would think that if this was a local vendor they would go on the "BSN Issues" thread and be banned from selling on the forum until this issue was fixed. This type of service (or total lack thereof), my fellow Pathfinders, is simply unacceptable.
  14. I feel you Brother! When I first did the Scout I thought "this doesn't have as much armor as a TK and it'll be cooler especially here in the desert.." Wow was I wrong. Flight suit, then vest, then bund, then armor...yeah it's not that much cooler. I can't even imagine what a Vader goes through.
  15. I'm moving to another detachment...... Check please!
  16. I like that you kept the cuts shallow. I wish I had kept that in mind when I did my boots. Nice work!
  17. Hi Nisa. I have an extra TD retangular greeblie that I can let you have if that will help you. You'll still have to source the round "dot" greeblie though. Let me know
  18. I didn't know that and it's great to hear! Thanks!
  19. That's the method I used on my SC and it worked great! Nice work. I've been looking forward to seeing a set of this put together.
  20. I used the Trooperbay decals to replace the traps, the snout, and the fishhook although the existing fishhook is fine I just replaced it as I thought the new one looked better. I also replaced the existing snout greeblie with a DVH snout because I felt it was more accurate than the existing one. Finally added the 3M bolts to meet with the Lancer spec. The ears are trimmed out and do not have the mesh so those are good to go. It's an excellent lid and just needs a couple of enhancements to meet Lancer spec. I love my Altmann's!
  21. Love the SW duct tape! Great job on the flight suit tutorial that is a really helpful series of snaps. Thanks very much for taking the time to post that up.
  22. As I mentioned before that armor looks great! Are you going to go with a Chef helmet as well?
  23. Thanks Tony. It's an excellent choice for a blaster IMO.
  24. It's an honest review of a top notch blaster Lou. You earned my respect as a prop maker due to the quality of work you do and items you provide. Trust me I wouldn't have just any snout gracing my Altmann's and that was the first thing I replaced when it came in. You've earned my respect sir.
