No one knows the exact colors used on the ROTJ costumes but I used a Testors gloss white for the dot, red for the stripe, and a medium grey for the chest rectangle.

Regarding your Altmann’s you don’t need to do any mods for basic. The only mod I had to do for Lancer was install the correct elevator bolts. I think Steve has addressed that now in his lids so you may not have to do anything to it if you decide to apply for Lancer. I love my lid it’s light and comfortable.

Your helmet looks much better good job with the trimming! As for the belt most of them were assembled using that same technique. A majority of them came in three pieces and it wasn’t until recently that makers started producing the one piece. You are fine for basic if you don’t want to tinker with it. If you do I would use the ABS method to fill in the overlap then sand and paint. Looks like you have some weathering going on there so that should hide the mod pretty well without having to repaint the whole belt. -

That’s the ticket. Now you can see the trim line. Go with shallow cuts to control your lines and take it slow. Remember it’s easy to remove the material but really hard to put it back on! Once you get the cuts made smooth them over with some 220 grit. -

A good way to "see" where you'll need to trim is to take a sharp pencil and trace around the visor. It should provide a line around where you can cut. It look like you still have a bit more trimming to do there and the pencil line will help you. Put it in them post up another pic so we can see what you got left. -

Here’s where the CRL is your friend. The tank topper goes close against the back armor. If you haven’t yet assembled the tank to the back armor make sure this greeblie doesn’t overlap the edge of the armor or you’ll have troubles assembling it. Place it down where you want it and lightly draw a line around it. Before you glue it lightly sand the back of the greeblie and the area that you outlined on the tank. Clean it off with isopropyl alcohol or another cleaner that wont leave residue. This gives the glue something to grip and the connection will be much stronger. -

Hi Max, That is one fine looking scout! We have only two items that need addressing: - Shoulder bridge straps should be the same color as your drop box and chest armor straps - Cod piece is folding in the middle. Recommend placing a stiffener to keep this piece rigid. You've done some fine work and should be proud Pathfinder. Just a few items to touch up. Cheers -

Lvl2 is Lancer. Be sure to read the threads here on the forum under Lancer submission. They have greater detail than the CRL. -

I wouldn’t worry about the barrel for now. That’s something that can always be easily addressed if you decide to go for Lancer. The scope looks fine so no worries there. Regarding the cod piece you’re going for the look in the CRL image (the CRL is your friend). You can use the five ribs on the bund as a sort of gauge. In my case my cod extends about an 3/4†to 1†past the edges of the rib lines. Too wide and the cod starts looking diaperish. It might be of value to review some of the posts in the soft armor forum and take a look at some of the cod/bunds other Scouts have built. You are doing great so keep plugging along. Looking forward to seeing the rest come together so keep asking those questions. -

Under the present requirements your blaster would not meet Lancer spec: For level two certification (if applicable): No drilled barrels. The screen used ones did not have drilled barrels. There are some ongoing discussions regarding the updating of the Lancer spec for the blaster but until those have been agreed upon the current spec will stand. Regarding the cod if you are planning to go Lancer it's recommended that the two be separate. Even if you don't choose to go Lancer it just looks better than a one piece. The reason for this is in how the belt sits just under the bund. It is true that you only see the cod from the bottom if the belt down but there is a separation you get when they are separate. It sets a layer effect that a one piece can't achieve. Trust me it took a lot of convincing for me to make a new bund with the two pieces separate but it really works. Here's a close up pic where you can see the layering. Note how the bund is just above the belt. I did it by sewing a layer of Velcro just under the bottom of the bund. Some of the Scouts make a full length piece that attaches to their vest and they loop it around and connect it with a parachute clip which ends up underneath the bund at the back. If you do it that way then when you put on your vest you'll put on your cod then wrap the bund around and you're ready to go. I know it's a little extra work but trust me the final look will be well worth it. -

Good work on those! You’re making great progress! -
I think that's awesome and it gives you valuable insight of what it's like to be in armor. Seeing it from the outside gives you experience of the "zones" around a trooper that you can pay attention to when you're on armor. In my case most of the folks I troop with are TKs so I really am a Pathfinder for them because my vision is so much better than theirs. This is good experience and good on you for getting engaged with the garrison! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

That's been a tricky one to pin down. The problem is with finding solid reference material for the Rebels pew pew. We know that the grip and guard are elongated from the ROTJ version and there are a few other differences as well. I've been talking with a vendor who is looking into these so there will be more to come. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
