BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Announcements
Okay folks the first Virtual Armor Party is now over! Three hours and we had a lot of laughs and great questions. We hope we helped everyone that needed. We look forward to doing another one of these in another month or so. Please let us know if you have time zone issues and we'll try to adjust accordingly or setup multiple events so we can help as many people as possible! -

Armor party is happening NOW! Please come join us -
At least I'm a screen accurate hooligan.

I'm waiting for @MrPoopie to chime in as he is not only our 3D printing expert but he has deep knowledge of the Patrol Trooper. I don't love that back piece. It seems really off proportion wise. As it's identical to the Shoretrooper, maybe try out Sean Fields' files for the back armor. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/27klw0a6voyqbtr/AACNrwrXNihtwHK-gm1jveP3a/Shoretrooper Back?dl=0&subfolder_nav_tracking=1

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Since the armor is all held on with strapping, it's highly adjustable. Height doesn't really come into play, unless you are very short. A lot of people get hung up on the size of the armor but it's the rare person who has armor that is too small for them. What we mostly deal with are people with armor that is way too big. Kropserkel and WTF sets have this problem very often. For instance the chest armor -- that's a bit of a misnomer as the armor doesn't cover your chest. It should come down to the bottom of your pectorals and that's it. The rest of the chest is covered by soft goods. Check out this thread to get an idea on proportions: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19967-soft-parts-best-practices/ -

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The only ones of those listed that I would say wouldn't qualify for Lancer without replacing some parts would be Kropserkel and WTF. All the other armors would only need minor adjustment (like for instance, trimming the shoulder bells a bit). RS Props and CFO/Strider are your most accurate kits and would need the least amount of work. Keep in mind, this is really a soft costume, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with a piece of the armor unless it's just so wildly off from the screen used that it would not qualify for L2. -
TB-60446 Lancer Deployment Request (APPROVED)

Thanks for your application. The team will review it soon! -
As for the construction, these are covers over top of boots. Gio understands that you can't make them look like screen used if it's one solid boot. But he's done it a bit different.

None of us has had them hands on yet. We've only looked at in progress pics. He would send us pics, we would say "change this, change that." Then the cycle would repeat until we were all happy. I stopped short of an outright endorsement however, because we don't endorse any particular maker's props. We stay neutral and try to help everyone get passed with the stuff they have.

Oh sorry I guess I misunderstood what "done other photos" meant. -

If you can put those photos in a Google Drive for me, I can get started on finishing up this CRL. Thanks, man! -

@heartstopper85 -- how are you doing on this? Long time, no see! -
Yes of course, as long as the proportions are correct. @MrPoopie did the same thing for @MrsPoopie
-
Looks a lot better than past offerings. But just be aware that once you get it, it will probably need some tailoring so that it fits you properly and that all the add-ons are hitting in the right places.

I never thought of doing this largely because I don't think the knee armor would survive. I usually squat down as opposed to kneeling.

Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party Saturday August 8th 9:00AM(PT)/12:00PM(ET)/4:00PM(GMT) Length: 2-3 hours (depending on interest and availability of staff) Google Meet: meet.google.com/gio-qfdz-xpn (No Download Required) Come join us for a Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party hosted on Google Meet. Everyone is welcome to attend and bring any questions you have about any of the Pathfinders costumes. Due to recent World events many of us have not been able to meet in person and working on armor by yourself can be a daunting task. While the forum is a great source for just about anything you would like to know about Pathfinders costumes, it never hurts to have someone to talk to directly as well as being able to ask specific questions about your build while being able to see first hand the answers to those questions. Armorers and Command staff will be available to help you with your builds so come prepared with questions and be ready to work. Or if you just want to say hi to some of the folks you see posting on the forum all the time, now is your chance! If you are unable to attend due to timezone issues please let us know your interest. If there are enough people outside of the current timezone we can always schedule another Armor Party at a later date that will take this into account.

Sounds good to me man. If we ever determine for sure what it is, we can always update or make it a Level 2 detail "A Snowtrooper-style chest greeblie with two red and one white buttons attaches to bag flap on lower right Center white button has a small dark circle in the middle. How about something like that?

Hello everyone Today Stefan (@TK8271 Rogue Trooper) let me know that he has sold his Shoretrooper and therefore will be stepping down as Detachment Costume Advisor. Stefan has been a huge part of drafting the Shoretrooper CRL and getting it into shape, including mapping out the Level 2 requirements and separating it into 3 CRLs based on our now familiar terms of Captain, Squad Leader and Grunt. He's also drafted a CRL for the in-progress Shoretrooper Specialist from Battlefront 2, which should be nearing completion. Stefan was the first Shoretrooper to reach Vanguard status in the Legion and, along with Theo, has been judging our Level 2 Vanguard apps ever since. To say he will be missed is a huge understatement. I have asked him to feel free to chime in on Shoretrooper builds, since his knowledge is not easily replaced. And Stefan has promised to return to the Pathfinders, this time as a Biker Scout. A proper costume for a fellow Harley Davidson owner! As one DCA steps down, another rises to take their place... I would like to take this time to congratulate Melody (@KOtrooper) for taking Stefan's place as Shoretrooper DCA, and Level 2 reviewer. Along with Theo, she will be judging Vanguard applications, helping advise builds, and giving pointers to GMLs who have questions on Level 1 apps. She has been an enthusiastic member of the Armor Team for the past year, and it's great to have her in Command. So a round of applause for Stefan and Melody!

Awesome, because I just made a dual badge for folks that attain Lancer and Vanguard and I've been itching to use it!

Creality is having a sale on 3D printers -- buy one and print your own! Probably save yourself some money in the long run. I just printed a stunt E-22 and I'm very happy with it.

Nope just the personal satisfaction of a job well done.
