@MrPoopie? Any thoughts on this -
BikerScout007's "Strider" build

Let me know, man. I'm here for it -
Yeah they did use it as the base model. That doesn't mean the Scout in Battlefront is supposed to be a different character than the one in ROTJ. Okay since y'all aren't taking a hint. LOCKED
-
All those difference are just down to how the character was modeled. They were not trying to create a new character. That was done in Jedi Fallen Order and we have a CRL for that. You could also say that the Biker Scout in Lego Star Wars has a lot of differences from the ROTJ version too, but we aren't making a CRL of that either. Folks, you have to wear the flak vest, I'm sorry
-
Okay not a problem! Get well, man.
-
Hey Glen! Just checking in if there was any forward movement on this. Not that I need yet another CRL to work on right now

Troopers Sad news in the Galaxy today. Aaron Orlando Landeros Hernandez, TB-9929, has joined the ranks of the Eternal Legionnaires. Many knew Aaron from his business, Landher Props, but he was a larger than life presence both in Skull Garrison and around the world. He was prolific Legionnaire with 8 CRLs to his name, but we of course know him as Biker Scout. Rest in power, Pathfinder

No. It's not enough of a variation from the regular ROTJ to warrant it. There are actual variant troopers that are being worked on (the Shoretrooper Specialist, the Kashyyyk Officer). The Scout just looks to be based on the ROTJ scouts, with any differences being down to modeling and not intentional design choices.

BikerScout007's Patrol Trooper Build!

I just got the CR-6 put together so I am officially a print farmer! And the first piece of gear I printed on it was a handplate. -
Hey Aneesh! You're in good hands in your Garrison it sounds like, and you've made a lot of good choices in your Parts list. The 7CS blaster is only available here and it looks like Lou's current run just closed up. But reach out to Lou and maybe he can do something for you. It's a great blaster -- I carry the same one!

There are a lot of costume mishaps across the original trilogy; we just try to get an aggregate so we can make a CRL that GMLs all over the world can use easily. If we had to put every variation and exception that was seen it would make impossible to have any kind of standard to follow. The fact is -- are neck seals seen in the movie? Yeah I guess if you squint you can kinda make it out on the blue screen scout. Do the vast majority have visible neck seals in the film? No.
-
@MrPoopie forgot to mention that he hates wearing the neck seal because it traps all the heat from your flight suit --- maybe that's why most of the screen scouts didn't wear them We've been told by sources with access to the archives that for the most part, neck seals, when worn, were worn UNDER the flight suit collar, so they were rarely seen. So with the Costumes book Scout for example, which is just a mannequin, it's possible that the team that suited it up simply put the neck seal on in the wrong order. Same could be said of the blue screen speeder bike Scout. A lot of "exceptions" come from these shots because many were flipped in editing. Also, these were the very last things shot for the film and the Scout costumes were probably in pretty bad shape by this point.

Cool man, I will hop on it tomorrow morning. Looks like we'll be wrapping up Mountain and Mando around the same time!

BikerScout007's "Strider" build
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I started from the outside and then worked my way to the inside, then threaded the rest of the wire through the hole and pulled it out the end so it would be nice and snug. There may be a better way but that worked for me, and I also did not have to glue it down. The pilot holes kept it locked in place. As for paint, I used a Rustoleum gray that matched my decals, because that's what I had lying around. The actual wire looks a little more gray-beige, and given it was the early 80s and EVERYTHING technology related back then was gray-beige, you may want to try a lighter shade than the color of your decals. -

No PLA unfortunately. I'm just not set up properly in my condo for printing PETg or ABS. I'm going to coat these parts with XTC-3D and then stay out of the sun -
Personal merch is not covered by 501st merch rules. HOWEVER -- you need to leave off any Legion terminology -- so no "501st legion" "Pathfinders Detachment" or "Danish Garrison"

Definitely seems at the very least the entire trim around the lenses should be silver.
