KS are gigantic. SC are slightly too big. MC gets it just about right. Strider's are the best
-
Yeah it seems to go up high in the front but not as high in the back

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
KS is one of the bigger ones although it comes up short in the accuracy department. I have yet to see someone whose chest armor was too high though. Most people's chest armor sits too low, which pushes everything else in the costume down too far. Compare to the screen scout and you'll see what I mean. -
I think the best practice is to follow the tread of your boot and not worry so much about matching perfectly. We don't have a requirement for absolute fidelity, only that you've carved out the teeth in a reasonable facsimile. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk

Right, but the cuts dont go all the way around to the front, which was my point. But here, no need to squint, turn your head, magnify and what not, here's some fresh Sierras Now have people cut teeth all the way around, including across the front? Sure and we have never dinged anyone for it. But if you want to save yourself a little time and go for more accuracy, you can leave the fronts as is.

I think it can never hurt to make it look like the picture!
-
You don't really need any cuts in the front of the boot. The Sierras didn't have them

You need one more post. You are only at 4. Lone Wolf and RS are next to impossible to get at this point.

Can you get the Red Kap coveralls up there? That's what most of us use as the base

Canadian Options For Helmet

Yes to all this. In this one area, I can recommend KS. but NOT for armor. -
Anyone have a 3D file for printing of the armor
BikerScout007 replied to Hossmaz's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
At the moment, no one has created a 3d file of the armor. Someone was working on a helmet but as far as I know it's not finished yet. There are armors that fit larger folks, and with the way it is strapped on to you, Scout Trooper armor is very forgiving. -

It's a real beauty! But some of the other armors are pretty close. And some are WAAAAAYYYYY off -
You can see a hem on the sleeves in the film. Also, Gino put a hem on his Scout's sleeves and he modeled his off of what he saw in the archives

BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
A lot of the differences are due to the punishment these suits took during shooting. The Scout was designed for stunts and they reportedly broke things on set all the time. Also, for some of the very stunt-intensive scenes, a rubber version of the armor was made. It's most prominent in the scene where Han Solo sneaks up on the biker scout and then flips him over. The proportions of that armor are slightly off from other armor seen in the movie.
