recommendations for boot brands and vendors
BikerScout007 replied to WhiteNightForest's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Offhand I can't think of a more comfortable hiking boot that is also affordable and plain enough to be easily modified; but many of us buy our boots about half a size bigger so we can easily fit an insole into it -
Some questions about the sewing
BikerScout007 replied to Hilikus's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
If by leather you mean the pig suede that we use for the riding patches, then yes, absolutely. Just get the thinnest suede you can and use a heavy duty needle, like for denim (or leather!) My machine handled it just fine. I ordered the Dickies coverall one time just to try it out. From what I remember more work needed to be done to it to get it up to standards so I ended up returning it. -

BikerScout007's "Strider" build
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Still waiting on my arm armor, but I really think the RS+Strider combo is the most screen accurate I've gotten so far -
Some questions about the sewing
BikerScout007 replied to Hilikus's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Sewing by hand would probably work on flight suit alterations, but I imagine with the bund and vest it would get a bit more complicated. Connect with your future Garrison and you may make some contacts that can help you locally https://nordicgarrison.net/ -

Rant about the RS Props biker scout helmet

It's not the most convenient setup for sure, but if you want screen accurate then that's the way to go Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk -
Debateing on Helmet and Armor
BikerScout007 replied to WhiteNightForest's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Definitely check out the Armor Comparison thread, if I do say so myself! MonCal's wait times generally rule them out when I advise people on armors. It's a shame because they are one of the more accurate sets out there. -
Rant about the RS Props biker scout helmet

I didn't have that issue with the lens but it is definitely too dark! It's really hard to see when you are inside and at night...forget about it! -
Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Advance Recon Teams
Sorry folks this is something we didn't foresee when we originally rolled out the program. Because we didn't realize how many of you were going to start making merch for your ARTs! I'd probably suggest going forward that new ARTs keep their names free of anything that might be associated with the 501st, their Garrison or the Detachment because of rules regarding Merch. Just so we don't run afoul of the LMBOs....or the Mouse. Now let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over! -
Rant about the RS Props biker scout helmet
BikerScout007 replied to Strider's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Great video, Constantin! I removed the hard hat liner, it was giving me headaches and just replaced it with helmet pads. Chin cup is indeed tight and the helmet pads didn't help that. But I haven't fixed it yet. But like you said, still the best helmet out there and I am very glad to troop in it! -

You split the seam open on the outside part of the leg, sew the patch and thigh elastic, then stitch up the leg. That way you can take the leg in a bit, as Red Kap coveralls are a bit baggy

I wouldn't count on it. If you are not that comfortable with assembling one, you may be able to reach out to a Garrison mate for help! -
