  1. I think your boots look good, you shouldn't have any problem with a Lancer application with those. You can thank the sender for giving you a head start on the weathering! As for the vest, this is tougher! If something doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. I've had this happen to me as well with the vest. It's always tough when you have to give measurements for something, because you are never exactly sure how it will all fit once you have all the pieces. You can try to simulate the undersuit with a heavy shirt but sometimes things still go wrong. This is a problem you run into when the soft goods are all tailor made and I wish instead some of the vendors would create their vests and bunds using the S-M-L-XL-XXL system we are all used to when it comes to buying 99% of our clothes. Maybe I'll start doing that!
  2. Nothing so far! Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  3. Many of us in the States get our pig suede from Tandy Leather, where they sell Pig Suede splits in about 6 sq. ft sizes. That was more than enough https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/glazed-pig-lining
  4. Mudflap, or butt flap as its sometimes known, is just the same pig suede you use to make the riding patches.
  5. The zipper will have to be covered to the extent that it shows. You may need to make a small flap for the area between the neck and the chest armor. But that's what the pockets you remove are for! Extra fabric.
  6. Looks good to me! but there appears to be a hip pocket that will have to go, obviously. And if there are any pockets on the butt they need to go too. Chest pockets are usually fine because they get covered by the vest, bund and chest armor.
  7. Offhand I can't think of a more comfortable hiking boot that is also affordable and plain enough to be easily modified; but many of us buy our boots about half a size bigger so we can easily fit an insole into it
  8. If by leather you mean the pig suede that we use for the riding patches, then yes, absolutely. Just get the thinnest suede you can and use a heavy duty needle, like for denim (or leather!) My machine handled it just fine. I ordered the Dickies coverall one time just to try it out. From what I remember more work needed to be done to it to get it up to standards so I ended up returning it.
  9. I answered in the other thread. Its Nexous. He's about 5'8 Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  10. Not only is he not gone, he's one of the most well known builders in the Legion Many Shoretroopers are wearing his armor.
  11. You can always order these: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10270
  12. Still waiting on my arm armor, but I really think the RS+Strider combo is the most screen accurate I've gotten so far
  13. Sewing by hand would probably work on flight suit alterations, but I imagine with the bund and vest it would get a bit more complicated. Connect with your future Garrison and you may make some contacts that can help you locally https://nordicgarrison.net/
  14. Congratulations and welcome to the club!
  15. Congrats and welcome to the club!
  16. That's Nexous. He's about 5'8 I believe Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  17. It's not the most convenient setup for sure, but if you want screen accurate then that's the way to go Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  18. Definitely check out the Armor Comparison thread, if I do say so myself! MonCal's wait times generally rule them out when I advise people on armors. It's a shame because they are one of the more accurate sets out there.
  19. I didn't have that issue with the lens but it is definitely too dark! It's really hard to see when you are inside and at night...forget about it!
  20. Sorry folks this is something we didn't foresee when we originally rolled out the program. Because we didn't realize how many of you were going to start making merch for your ARTs! I'd probably suggest going forward that new ARTs keep their names free of anything that might be associated with the 501st, their Garrison or the Detachment because of rules regarding Merch. Just so we don't run afoul of the LMBOs....or the Mouse. Now let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over!
  21. Great video, Constantin! I removed the hard hat liner, it was giving me headaches and just replaced it with helmet pads. Chin cup is indeed tight and the helmet pads didn't help that. But I haven't fixed it yet. But like you said, still the best helmet out there and I am very glad to troop in it!
  22. Congrats and welcome to the club!
  23. You split the seam open on the outside part of the leg, sew the patch and thigh elastic, then stitch up the leg. That way you can take the leg in a bit, as Red Kap coveralls are a bit baggy
  24. There are certain decals that are requirements for Level 2
  25. A lot of the stuff on screen was pretty rough! I'm sure you will do fine Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
