Advice on Making a Scout Blaster
gmrhodes13 replied to StormyStormtrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Weapons
You could make your own, I've seen some nice hand built versions over the years but most of the builds are hard to find, check the RPF. A lot go with either resin or 3D printed these days, you can still modify the 3D versions, I have lights, sound and an amp jack in mine -

Much better

Rears do look very large, I would reduce the size

I think you came down a little too straight on the sides, if you look at the top reference photos they are angled outwards from top to bottom. Makes the radius you cut look a lot sharper than those in the reference too. If you take too much out of your neck you will loose the point of the centre ridges so I'd be very careful there.

Visor / mask assembly question
gmrhodes13 replied to BuckeyeTK's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I fitted some pieces of abs behind so not too pull the sides right in and used E6000 glue, easily removable -

Great news, love a Big Brown Box delivery. Looking forward to seeing a build thread soon

Looks like you have done some research. I suggest staying away farawaycreations/moncal, complaint thread is over 20 pages on the 501st forum. I would do a little more research on armor, lots of build threads here with plenty of happy people

Congrats and welcome to the Lancer ranks

I use helmet pads as well, can be moved around and attached with Velcro. I added a small squirrel fan to my helmet, it's mainly just to stop the screen from fogging on warm no breeze days, you get a lot of airflow normally with the biker helmets.

kinda lost with forum, registration, garrison and what nots...
gmrhodes13 replied to 762s's topic in Getting Started
My pleasure, no problems with being on both forums and posting build threads and asking questions, that's what the detachments are for, just your local garrison would be more hands on and of course does your approval. Good luck with the research and look forward to seeing a build thread soon. -

Hello as well as signing up to Pathfinders you will also need to sign up on your local garrison forum, there you will submit your costume for approval to the GML (garrison membership liaison) once you have approval you can then sign up on the 501st forums, it is for approved members. I believe Garrison Tyranus looks after those in Virginia http://www.garrisontyranus.com/ 501st Garrison listings can be found here: https://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php Once 501st approved when ever you sign up on a new forum you can request 501st access, which allows you to see areas other non members can't see, all you do is post a link to your 501st profile, which is issued once you are approved. Also each costume has a basic level for approval, called the CRL's (costume reference library) which for biker scouts can be found here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper More info on 501st membership can be found here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Membership:JoinUs and here: http://www.501st.com/members/join_form.php Hope that helps -
TB21781 requesting lancer status (APPROVED)
gmrhodes13 replied to Paulbeer78's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Sizing can vary depending on the size of the trooper, If you notice in the back photo your butt flap is bunched up and looks very narrow, if you check the CRL it states: The flap is slightly narrower than the width of the trooper and stop slightly higher than the bottom edge of the troopers backside, hope that helps. -
Looks great, nice work
