I have a opportunity to buy a LW or stay with my Altmanns
Stroker replied to Torm's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
LW's are gold! Better pick it up while you have the chance! When my chance came to own one there was no second thought to doing it! It's one of my grail's. -
Welcome and congratulations!

I don't know how easy they are to get in the UK,but look up green trail boots. They have a nice tan bubble gum sole that's super easy to work with.

correct width of the black snout surround
Stroker replied to Dewka's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The edge can be confusing. I went off screen granbs and older members helmets. The main reason I saw some years back a seller was selling helmets finished and the it was painted all the way up to the edge followed by a another member who was selling a highly detailed helmet and it was painted around 1/3 of the edge in turn got me to wondering. Now the only one that looks odd without the entire edge finished is the MLC helmets. -

It should end where the edges ends to hear some tell it. Then it comes down to what helmet your using. I go just a touch pass 1/3. MLC doesn't look right with only a 1/3 of the edge painted. My LW is around 1/3. -
This! Not much you have to do on your end. Just strapping,e6k the belt and a few rivets. Super deal!

Not bad at all! You'll be happy. I have one also I use for trooping. Only problem I have with it is the scope set to far forward on it causing a gap between the turrets and scope ring. You will not be able to tell the difference between a b and a pull.

THE first dumb question?? -helmet venting??
Stroker replied to SanTan Scout's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Like stated above the helmet is probaly the most comfortable when it comes to heat. The ears make all the difference. -
Looking good. I'll be watching.

Get you a 1.5" od piece of hose and wrap it in RJ-11 telephone wire thats light gray in color. That's the most accurate way till we find the orginal stuff the y used on the screen used scouts TD.

Indeed,or a damn good clean up. However I think its just a painted Kenner blaster.
-
I would also follow up with a wet sand. You'll thank me when your done . It make that whit pop and shine just like your SC armor.

Leave to Constantine! Now I gotta upgrade my knees! Yes he set the bar high! However no matter what Disney pulls out the hat you'll never have another set of armour as cool and aggressive as the OG biker!

Killer job!!!

If you have to paint it stick with matching paint and primer. I just saw a trooper destroy a Fett paint job by mixing paint brands.

Well there is. Fiberglass acts different than abs when it comes to paint and no matter what you do or what paint you use its going yellow. All material reacts differently to paint. Painting fiberglass white is a pain in the ass no matter how you look at it. I've seen corvettes with 6 month paint jobs start turning yellow.

There's a problem with CB's helmets. Now I really have no real clue as to what it is. I've used every high end to low end paint their is along with and without a sealer and still ended up with yellow. So my solution was wet sanding. Also I moved away from SC and CB to another helmet vendor and armour vendor. Yes after weathering my scout it's the only way to go.
-
Yes I did. Make sure you use atleast 3000 grit and go up from there. After you have it sanded nice and smooth buff it out with some good car polish. Turtle wax buffing compound is the best I've used. Just check your self and watch real close to make sure you don't sand through the paint. Anything else just shoot me a pm or post it here.

Wet sand and polish it! I had the same issue with my CB and SC not matching. Once that's done it'll be so damn close you won't be able to tell.

Anyone still making kashyyyk cummerbunds and ammo pouches?
Stroker replied to bib's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
There's a man in California that makes the stuff. However I think he's gotten behind by taking too many order's. -
The one in the top post is one of CB's just a older version. That's his V1 with a flat visor. He corrected it with his V2.
