Looking good! Can your knees come up anymore? If not you dont need a inch half. A half would work. The pouches. Pouches sit approximately 1 inch from the outermost cummerbund rib on each side. Drop boxes need to centered and leveled out. Left shoulder bell needs to come in closer to the bridge and match the right bell.
-
Just a tad more. You get them to movie size and itll blow your mind. Everything will set as it should. Keep it up!
-
You look great first of all. Were all diffrent shapes and sizes. The scout tends to make you slouch in turn it makes the stomach stick out a bit more in costume. Also your pouches are kinda big for your size. You down size them to the correct size and pull the belt up where it should be and your gold. I touched on that in your build thread.
-
The armor is a great fit! The pouches are to long and a little wide and it's kinda throwing the rest off. Mostly the belt position. Also the cod piece is a little wide on you. Other than that it looks great.

Praetorian was the ones who ended up with some of Hyperfirms moulds correct? I remember reading something about here or the RPF.
-
Correct.

I cant speak for the durability myself, but I know theres a few scout around here that own a pair. Maybe one of them will drop in.

DVH might do a run in the summer heres his thread. I own one of blasters, top notch work! He might chime in @Darth Voorhees given what's going on right now it might be a slow response.

Yes if its interfering with the visor opening and closing.

Who makes wire-wrapped tubes?

Nicely done! -
Not saying it cant be done, but its gonna be a nightmare for sure. Getting it to look correct is the problem. I had problems getting it on my snowie helmet. If you do it please post pictures of it.

Chris at BF found something super close to what was actually used for cowl. It's super thin. Very, very thin. We doubled up ours for our cowls. I cant see it being used on boots. I see it being almost impossible to cover boots with.

Those are for drilling, but I'd do a little more dry fitting before drilling anything. Also I've never put together a SC helmet before. I have all the others. Does the face plate at the top have a return edge?
-
You got it! I'd call that good.
-
Looking great so far. Looking forward to your build.
-
Other than the points you made I don't see anything else.

Looks great! Killer job!
-
I'd stick with the the size they are now. Wait till everything is done and suit up. You maybe able to adjust the chest armor a little more.
-
Yeah it's the chest causing the over lap. I'm 6'5" and I tried my old armor on with my new soft parts and the pouches did the same thing.
-
The SC chest is a little longer than the screen used ones. That's the reason the pouches are over lapping the belt a bit. What size are your pouches? Good job! It's looking great!

That's looks great!

Burpo's Scout Build - SC Armor / Altmann Helmet (Lancer)
Stroker replied to Burpo's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
It's nothing to paint them. Just make sure you sand the soles a little and use some alcohol to clean them then paint. I used a airbrush on my first pair. They came out great and I never had to touch the soles up. I've seen people use a brush as well and it looks just as good. -
Burpo's Scout Build - SC Armor / Altmann Helmet (Lancer)

Those soles will have to be painted if your going for Lancer. -
Same here, but I was referring that I rather not use a clearcoat because it's a high chance it might interact and ruin the paint job. I've seen a guy pay for a Fett commission and turn around and clear coat it, next morning the his paint job was ruint. The entire clearcoat fogged over and some of the actual paint ran. Yes other than my RS helmet I've painted all my own. Even repainted the LW you helped me get 😃
-
My take would be if you want the glossy look is to sand the whole helmet down and completely repaint it.
