I'm also in the hunt for gloves. :/ As for those, they don't have the "v" pattern in the gauntlet, and the ribs are too wide. It gives the appearance of having either too many (7), or not enough (3). I think it's the spacing.

Agreed Rob. I'll provide what I can of my SC once it's finished. Mine's just modded. Might be better if we get someone to take it from an original SC though.

Not really sure about the US one at all Toni. The UK one I've seen on the internet, but have never seen it talked about here. I've been meaning to ask our UK peeps if they have any info on that bucket. It's a pretty nice sculpt overall. Chime in chaps if you have some info!

I'd say the KS. SC's have really soft lines

Thank you Terry. This will be a great asset when my armor arrives. Cheers! -
This is fantastic news UK! I would love to see some hi-res shots from multiple angles. From what I've seen, the Deluxe is definitely the closest bucket crafted in ABS. I can't wait to compare Scout lids make my heart go zoooooooom! Lol P.S. I found a picture of the the prop store helmet the other day on the interwebs with your sig attached in the corner. It was like finding the "missing link". Definitely helped me on my helmet mod. Just wanted to say thanks

Thanks Rob! I guess I was just a little unsure. For those of us uniniated, we just don't know what's on the other side. We know there is an other side, but know not what happens. And that's completely understandable

Just out of curiosity, what does it take to be a "Legion approved" vendor? Is there a process that us without 501st access don't see? What actually constitutes this blessing? Is it a good track record coupled with a quality product? Is it just a loose term, or is there actually some sort of approval process?
-
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I feel as much a part of this community as 501st members. In fact, I feel more welcome on this board than most others I've been a part of. We should all share our knowledge no matter what level it is. Dan makes a really good point here. If it wasn't for the trade section, I would have never bought my Hyperfirm. Maybe a stricter policy on vendors is more applicable. Sci-Fire was already known for their top notch product and excellent customer service. As a newbie, I'd still like to have some access to the random opportunities that come about.

You should be good to go then

I'm not sure based off of hat sizes. Measure around your head (same line as the hat line), and then look at the main SC build thread. My measurement was 23.5", and it fits just fine.
-
I thought that was the case, because it's that way for a welders mask. I guess the SC helmet is just a little bit smaller. Gonna be a tight fit. Thanks BJ

While we're on the subject, how does the accurate suspension band attach to the helmet? I know the LW helmet had a couple of holes in the sides for either rivets or screws to attach too. That's the only thing I can't make out from the gallery helmet pics :/

Have fun Alex! Good luck! -
They're not bolt covers. They are just 3M Speedglas bolts if you want accuracy. Here's a link from the trade forum with the accurate bolts: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10270

For the most part it looks good. The only thing that's really lacking is the eye/visor cutout. You went out waaaaaaaay to wide on the top. The corners should be rounded.

Good luck with your build bro!

Congrats Mike!

SC Helmet Mod - The Noobtastic "Sink or Swim" Thread
bwattsup replied to bwattsup's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Here's a quick peek at where my faceplate stands today. It's taken several attempts to get the "cheeks" right, but I'm pretty stoked with the results. Still working on symmetry from left to right side, but I think I finally understand the lines and how they blend into the forehead. I'll post about how I got here later this week. Right "Cheek": -
Great work Duff! Really enjoying this thread.

Some call it chance....but I think we'll call it DESTINY!!! -
After looking at those pics again tonight, I'm not even sure it's cloth. Might be some kind of tape or sticky felt.
