Joined the strap and the belt together. I didn't like the buttons so I E6000 the belt and then at 5 locations on the belt, I sewed with black thread (used for leather work) the two items together. Since the thread is black it blends great with black setins of the belt. Still having trouble with the grey holding to the belt rubber. Anyone using something that is working well? I still have to either remove the grey on the in sets or paint them black. SInce paint doesn't want to stick to it any way, I may just strip the paint off of them.

I am all chromed up, doing Latex tonight. Paint black tomorrow, before going to Fanboy expo and hopefully painting The base tan on Sunday. Surgery pushed my work back a bit. But I gig get some leather sewing done for another Trooper and my belt is attached to the nylon webbing.

Man I thought I put a few tabs through my backplate for the tank attachment, you got me beat. LOL The BDU's look a little light in color from the pics, may be because it is in direct sunlight? They turned out better than I thought, but the brown pattern (camo) should be darker, almost a black. Back assembly looks good.

Wondering if you had a chance to dye the Suit yet. Really want to see what it looks like dyed

Thanks but I should be good. Going to Busch Gardens some night this week, so I will grab it then Thanks. Yeah DR. Since Brent and I are in the same Squad, I thought it would be a good idea if our colors matched, even if the camo is going to be a slightly different pattern.

THanks Brent, I get really nervous doing stuff for other people, I never feel like what I do is good enough for someone else. I am so glad he likes it. BTW, My local hobby stores do not have the Tamaya paints, all they carry is the Pactra. What hobby store did you tell me you got yours at? I am heading to Tampa soon and I can just swing by and pick them up.

Finally feeling better after surgery so I decided to try to paint the chrome today....Not gonna happen, it is WAY to humid for painting today, I am getting fishes and whiting. So I will work on the small greebs today, getting them ready for primer. I stopped painting chrome after the helmet, don't want to waste the chrome paint.

KS does not make a CB helmet, Chunk we are in the Kashyyyk forum, not scout. My head is 24" around and I have no trouble getting into the the Bikerchick helmet. and once it is on, I am swimming in it. Lots of padding to fill it in. I did have to open the neck a little but with the balacava on, your head will be covered. Good Luck

Looks very good. Good luck with the submit. I still believe your two small top pouches are on the wrong side. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the beveled flap edge pointed to the center of your body, not facing outward

Looks good, just a blue hanger on, under the right knee plate and the small front pouches appear to be on the wrong side. Good luck with your acceptance. Don't forget to come back and help the slower build guys from time to time

Primed all off my hard armor (except for the &*$%#^$* Back plate and tank) Me and that particular piece of equipment are gonna have a come to Jesus meeting here soon.

Ok, so the tan boots needed to be a bit more white, but in my opinion, without being white. So i dusted the boots with some flat white rattle can and I really like the outcome. Now that the boot is whiter, I needed to modify the soles. Dremeled out the side of the soles to get the small arcs that the Screen boot has. Dremeled a little of the main boot arc, but it is pretty slim to start with and I am afraid that the boot will fall apart, if I go much further.

I have to admit, the mirrored green lens is really a much better look. Cumberbund looks good, just too new and clean Good luck with your submit

Sanding, sanding, sanding. because if mt shims, I am having to fill and try to feather my seams to get them seamless. On one of my calf pieces I did not get a valley, running the length of the piece, totally flat with the heat gun. So now I am filling this void a little at a time. Afraid to go to thick with the icing, as I am worried about it curing correctly. I have been sanding between applications (for a strong bond) and the icing is very easy to sand. I applied the third and hopefully final coat last night. Today I will finish sanding them and sand the tank seam down. Pics to follow

OHHH, that sucks. I hope it didn't do any real damage to your greeb. How did you attach your snaps, was there a backing on the inside of the greeb & did that pull through?

Ahhh soft armor, gotcha. Paint job looks good DR. I am right there with you, this is the first thing I have every constructed, as far as a costume. Thankfully I have all you guys and Grumpy to help me along. I appreciate the WIP's, they really come in handy.
