  1. Well I have roughly trimmed all of the parts, I will start to smooth them out either later today or tomorrow night. But it is a start.
  2. Just received my hard armor in the mail today. Time to get working on it.
  3. Pouches look great Grumpy. I ended up using the first set of pouches I made for a Halloween costume this year. So now that the armor is ready, I need to get to sewing my new ones. I hope mine come out as good as yours did.
  4. I had ordered my helmet last Feb 12th and here it is a year later and I am finally getting the armor. Thank goodness for Bikerchick.
  5. Are you filling the orders as they came in or are you filling the orders via Full armor AND helmets first?
  6. If you are a size XL and have some fairly good condition BDU's you are willing to part with I would love to get a pair or two from you. No Rush, like I said I have a pair, but always good to have a second, just in case. Thanks
  7. Glad you found them, down in my area these are impossible to find. I have been to every A/N Surplus store for 50 miles and noone has them. I have a set, but I was looking to have a spare set. The dimensions on the thigh pocket are going to have to be suited for the individual. Your thighs length and width, we have to determine how large they can be. I am pretty short and mine ended up about 5.5" wide by 6" tall.
  8. Can not wait to get started with it. Great job Susie
  9. Agree with Chilledmilk, ,,,Any news on how the pulls came out?
  10. Everything is looking great can't wait to have it in my grubby little hands.
  11. @Chilledmilk,,, I got mine from ladysewforus on this board and it is excellent. I did have to wait about 4 months for it, but since the armor wasn't ready yet, to me, it really did not matter.
  12. On the list for Armor only as I already have one of your helmets, that I bought back in March. Do have a question though, I do not see any of the rubber( I am assuming) parts like the belt and the bicep greeb, are they included with this? Also is the helmet with the kit a Mr. Bungle or one of your helmets that you have been selling? Nothing wrong with your helmet, I like it very much, just a question.
  13. Just a couple images from CVI. Glad I had a chance to meet a couple of you guys at CVI. Looking forward to joining you next year, as soon as the armor is available.
  14. I had the same issue, but I have a friend that works with leather , and he stretched it out by almost 1/2" for me and no damage to the leather. It now fits pretty good, still a little snug, but not like a second layer of skin, like it was before.
  15. I think looks Much better than the last helmet. You did an awesome job with the battle scarring and weathering. Hope mine turns out as good.
  16. I am in the process of putting a kit together as well, so I am not an expert. But I see you have the visor decal on both sides of the visor, I believe it is only supposed to be on the left side? If I am wrong, please enlighten me. Other than that looks really good.
  17. Did the same as well. Always good to have spare material on hand. Have fun coloring.
  18. Welcome and have fun with the helmet. I got this same lid and everything went together great, but I did heat the visor (EVERY SO LIGHTLY) as it was a bit misshapen. Once I straightened it out and sanded it down, it fits great. Good luck with your build
  19. From all the new guys who are waiting on armorer....THANK YOU!!!!
  20. Huzzah, Huzzah, Huzzah...and a tiger, GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
  21. SAd to hear, hopefully, if there are any recasters, they will do your art work an honor.
  22. That first pic is absolutey cool. You look like a true sniper. Nice looking weapon as well. Welcome
  23. Here are the newly dyed BDU's The color is almost correct to the actual color in real life. But they are a bit darker than pictured. The BDU's do have a slight purple hue to them. But I think they came out great. I do not have my thigh pouches sewed on yet, as I am waiting to get my armor, so I can see where they need to go, in reference to the hanging pouches and knee pads. Per heatshocks suggestion, I cut off the shoulder button, but left the shoulder straps on. If need be, I can remove them at any time. Also since the Velcro did not color hardly at all, I will be masking it off and hitting it with black paint from the airbrush.
  24. Just asking, in Spooky=kid's last link, the pants were a windproof pant, from what I understand the windproofing makes the dye application have issues. I know the pattern is correct, but should he be looking for a non-windproof set. This is just what I find when going through the forum, trying to research my BDU purchase. Not an expert, just passing along what I read.
  25. Congrats on being accepted, your kit looks great.
