Not that I'm aware of. Helmet should fit you just fine. -
Preassembled helmets? SC in particular

SC is a slightly smaller kit than KS. SC uses thicker plastic than KS, feels quite a bit sturdier. -
Gino, I found vintage webbing at a few local fabric shops. I found a great NOS (new old stock) roll of the shoulder loops and the thigh box webbing. I didn't bother looking for the thigh ones as "modern" 2 inch black elastic is readily available. Can you confirm its cloth webbing (not stretchy) and not elastic? That will at least rule out some options and I can see if I can find anything. Thanks!

I don't think it is the same. The drop boxes are vintage canvas webbing and the chest to back is elastic. -
The TD clips look very much like vintage belt clips. The shape of the prongs suggest they could slide into a belt easily, and not too wide of a belt since they are only 1.5" long. Might be tough to find if they are "vintage". I've git a few theories as to where they could come from: - tape measure belt clip (they often have the wide 2 prong style) - knife pouch clip (similar but not exact) http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/product_info.php?products_id=4192 http://www.theclip.com/store/product.php?productid=16380&cat=275&page=1 -automotive clips for interior panels (not exact but an idea?) http://www.autobodysupplies.com/foldclips.htm

My Scout Trooper (Biker Scout) life-size display/costume

I suspect that makers of our current 501st costume vests made them shorter half-shirts just to reduce overheating from another layer of clothing in the costume. In film, it matters but not as much. This info has gotten me jazzed. I'm going to do some concept drawing breakdowns of the costume, now that we know more! -

Thanks Gino, great clarity! Yes, my suspicions were correct that the sleeves are raglan cut, like you mentioned like a baseball T shirt! And holy crap - yes, bund clarity too!! This is awesome. One more question. Can you confirm that the suit and bund details you've described are on all the screen used costumes, and not just the museum / exhibit / blue ray version? There's a lot of contention of "which one was correct" as the museum versions seem to have odd fixes and even updated bits due to damage over time, compared to the screen used which we cannot see all the details on in screen shots. I know these are minor details to some, but theres some scouts that have been looking for details like this for years!! Thanks for sharing Gino! -

Questions for you Gino, if you're allowed to answer it: Since you've probably seen the original costume in the archives (full body?) can you disclose what the under suit is? Is it a one piece or a two piece (since we can't see it in the movie) and is it a standard racing / drivers suit, or coveralls, etc.? What material is it - heavy type cotton, or a racing suit material? On your life size display you obviously have the accurate thigh suede patches, did the originals have the thigh patches sewn on or were they part of the original manufacturing? Question on the vest: the padded ribbing sewn onto the sleeves of the vest, do they go right up to the collar (raglan cut) or did the padded sleeves terminate at the shoulder? I personally think it was a raglan sleeve that goes up to the base of the collar but I don't think we've 100% put that to rest. Question regarding the crotch padding, was it foam or something different in the crotch, below the chevron shaped stitch? I'm convinced there was some kind of thicker material in there, to precent camel-toe bunching, and the way it sits in certain views makes me think there's something other than the quilting in there... Thanks in advance if you can shed any light on these items! -

Awesome... I noticed that you did the V notch in the sternum of the chest armor too. Nice detail. After seeing these great pics of a dirtier Scout, I might dirty mine up too. Inspired! -

Maker of all leather TB boots?

Just saw this on the Legion boards. http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83208&highlight= While these might pass the basic CRL, they definitely wouldn't pass Lancer.
-
If its in the movie, I don't see why not. But it was would be an individual trooper detail. Eg: there's a TK with no blue tube stripes on his helmet (Mr. No Stripes) but tube stripes are required in the CRL.

Just hand wash the black suit, hang to dry. Works fine and adds some "used future" look to it.
-
I don't think that will work. There's no way it would stay snug enough to the pants. There's photos where we can see the patch is sewn, best to do it that way.

Pouches, thigh boxes, and belt rivets
Pandatrooper replied to Cheshire's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
1) Thigh boxes - I'd do one piece canvas webbing. Less material wastage and looks better IMO. 2) Pouches - I attached mine to the meet the top of the bund, then the chest armor bottom edge covers it. I sewed an extra elastic strap on either side of the bund suspenders to prevent the bund from ever "popping out" over the chest. Check my build thread. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&view=findpost&p=93551 3) Belt - Don't rivet the belt if you can avoid it, you can glue it and no one will notice. My build thread has detailed images on how to hide the seam. You don't have to do it that fancy, but even if you sand the parts and glue the belt parts together with E6000 and hide the seam behind one of the boxes, it will look clean. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&view=findpost&p=82251 Hope that helps! -
Looking good. I'd round the corner on the shoulder bells, and add the 1/2" elastic on the upper part of the knees (I can't see it), makes them sit a bit better.

This is what I did. Worked out very nicely for look and feel. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&st=120&p=93781entry93781

Get the accurate 3m bolts and make sure there's a rubber washer / O ring between the bolt and but. The tension will keep it open.
