  1. Yep, it's all part of the costume guys. Trust me, you don't want to look like a half-baked Biker Scout.
  2. I agree with Matt...SA gloves are the way to go.
  3. Hit up Maelstrom (Patrick), he's got one. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=75520
  4. Really nice, great work on this bund.
  5. Yep, that's about how I get dressed too. My wife helps me tweak the gear once it's all in place.
  6. It's always good to have a "handler", a wife, or someone to help you get dressed.
  7. The most typical used is a #5 welder's shield, which looks almost black on the helmet. It's actually a really, really dark green. http://shop.elvex.com/p/fs-15ws5-welding-shade-no-5-green-face-shield
  8. It's really hard to tell the origin of the helmet. The pull on the back side seems a bit soft though since the vents barely come through and are a little off. Do you have a side-view shot? That may help...also, how big is this? Great work so far on the build.
  9. Not too bad...! I'd take some of that chrome and dry brush and "weather" it a bit.
  10. Looking forward to another awesome year in 2013! Happy Holidays troops!
  11. Looks like it turned out pretty well. Nice work Chris.
  12. Nice idea. For mine, I drilled out the barrel tip and the front of the scope to give it an extra edge. For my holster, I have a small square of white foam that helps secure the blaster (while walking). I mostly carry mine though, gotta be ready for Rebels and eWoks!
  13. FYI: The seller is a member of the forum and knows the situation from previous conversations and posts.
  14. As mentioned in my PM...I would lightly sand it and then brush it with some type of filler (bondo, ABS paste, etc), then sand it smooth, primer it, and paint it flat black. Once it's primed and painted black, you can always weather the little imperfections with silver to get that nicely worn look. This is how my blaster from the same seller turned out.
  15. No worries...and hang in there. It has been a wild year for me too!
  16. Welcome back Matt...where ya been hiding?! I have not heard anything on this one. But, I'm as interested as you!
  17. I used double-sided tape for mine, but E6000 is also widely used among scouts.
  18. For anyone interested, here's how I did the mod on my RedKap suit. I took one of the 4 pockets removed from the suit and made a neck closure out of it. Then I attached Velcro to it and the corresponding underside of the collar and sewed the closure in place. When I close the suit up (using the button snaps), I then flip the collar up, and close the neck up similar to a mandarin collar. The flak vest goes on over the suit and I'm all set.
