Technically, they are shoulder bells. And, not too bad. I'd round the bottom corners more, though. You can lay a quarter down as a sort of template. Once you trim and round them, you can sand them smooth.

The SC helmet will be way too small for a size 8. Check out the trade forum for the Altmanns run that Spike has going on. It's a great helmet and fits us larger headed troopers.
I first contacted them in 2011 and it's a decent blaster. I've made two of them over the years. Not too bad, but a little heavy and sort of smallish. Just make sure you don't drop it!
