Well as it is the original Jango fett boot. And the Clone designers took that boot pattern over to the BARC. A rare find these days.....that is how the story goes with screen used stuff.
-
I think of the latest proposals the first Caterpillar is closest as it has a straight sole pattern and seems to be easiest to recolour looking at the materials and base colour.
-
I hope it is not a violation to someone if I post some pictures I got from the "dented helmet - but I lost track of the thread. So can remove them if the owner has something against it. There have been several types of boots with a similar sole design. Closest I have found atm. are - (ebay search string -NAOT Black Leather 'Rafael' CASUAL BOOTS) -, just that they are black . Here is the boot/sole we are looking for. (Jango Fett -> Kenneth Cole Pitt Crew)
-
I do fiberglas - always - but for the above reasons styrene might be OK
-
Doesn't explain the overlap.... I will go camo gauntlet
-
I hope we can get a better render one day - so we can be 100% sure. I also like to know what it might be - which language -> kaminoan, mandalorian, or something republican....or maybe just a divisional or tactical mark?
-
That would only work if we make a major inquiery unless we want to have it for a reasonable price. And these days our customs here really rip us off for stuff coming from US.
-
Similar to the scout helmet the barc helmet has an icon on the left blinder. I tried to replicate the icon and here is my first result. This one isn't properly proportioned yet but I'd like to know if you agree with the general character of the shape or if you read something else in the heavily distorted reference we have of it? Btw I have cross checked with the screens - in the scene where yoda jangoes his former executives you can see a darker spot than the average brown tones of the camos on the left blinder exactly where the icon should be.
-
Do you recognize this?
-
I wouldn't go too strict on proposed camo patternes in case someone finds a better one for his uniform still matching the screen.
-
Seriously the desert version would have been a bit better as it has more bright areas which will get grey. Medium warm brown/grey is the predominant colour over the dark grey/black. Dont you think? In the standard woodland camo it is less bright areas and more dark areas. Just my opinion.
-
Ok, what do you say to this one? It is the german desert camo. French camo would work as well. I also found out you can order the fabric in case the suit needs to be customized because in the screens it looks like a tight fit.
-
edit* ok might work and it meets all requirements AS has mentioned but we need to try if it can be died like that. This camo is also available as tanker overall.
-
We could be more sure if those Barcs wouldn't have a fetish with pouches... I think they're light olive, no camo. At least that is what these pictures show me. Another few observations and questions added as well:
-
I think a vest is probably the best way to go. I advise to go for a solution as the vest cummerbund combo discussed for the scout, just that the upper part is made of camomaterial. That there is no tan vest going all over the torso you can see in various pictures where the area under the arms are dark as well as the back/neck area. I also don't think the vest is opened at the front but again in the back. The belts are covered by the amounts of pouches the barc is surrounded with. Only the buckle can be guessed as the front boxes' (thigh boxes) strapping goes in the same way to the center of a supposedly buckle as the scouts' do. Instead of the diaper's crouch they have a hardshell there.

I can give you scans later. But I have only the Dark Horse interpretation of Keller of course. I'll shoot you a PM once I have them online.
-
Though I think it's obvious that Keller uses a beehive helmet However I just brought that into the thread as T-boy mentioned it. I agree that comics as well as games are not a good source - even Hasabro/Koto/GG busts and figures are not really adequate resource. Guess what in the first book of these Kashyyk episodes the barcs use clone white armor with just the barc helmets
-
Doesn't look like armor to me. Looking at my skiing gloves they have the same feel with their nylon pads. The ribbed thing on the inner part of the rear gauntlet might be vinyl like material. Though the same part looks like nylon grid on another shot.
-
Don't think so. It's the equivalent to the suede riding just not of suede I guess. Look how it behaves in comparison to the armor - also all armor parts of the barc are camouflaged.
-
That's cool - which pattern is it? Edit* Might be good to know if the pattern os not too small such as the aformentioned SS camo designsn which are quite near the one you showed here but use smaller dots than the barcs.
-
In one scene in the comic there is a BARC using some kind of a small blaster. I am not familiar with clone weapons. I have all Scenes with BARCS of the said issue of Dark Horse Republic mentioned in the wikipedia article. Will upload to AS in case he wants to add to the gallery.
-
Thanks for putting our ancestry where it belongs
-
During the scenes there seem to be some continuity problems so it is very difficult to trace back the original. However I think it is still a gauntlet. It is just a gauntlet within a gauntlet or a gauntlet divided in two sections with the front section being stronger than the rear. Just that on several of these the rear is camouflaged and in other scenes black or at least one mono coloured. I also took two Kenner miniature pictures into reference (You can easily spot them) I brightened up the pcitures to show it. The next days I can do a sketch.
-
with grey I meant the grey layer used over them to simulate a possible die effect. As the camosuit of the BARC seems to be dark greyish I used a very dark grey. I guess one would use black though.
-
So here is the result using the same grey on all uniforms I found appropriate. I just don't know how die is behaving so this is highly speculative. Guess try and error is something the BARC pioneers have to live with
