  1. Incredible work Tarok! Congratulations on your approval.
  2. You did a good job! I've made five of the dam things, helping another as we speak.
  3. Hello Matt and welcome, loving the Boushh
  4. Congratulations Alex, that is awesome news!
  5. It has to be riveted at the bottom so it can't float sorry, I also had major issues getting mine to sit right. If you have photos we can have a look
  6. It is rear needing someone to hold stuff, I've got it down pat, 14 years as a scout can do it. When its a car park change, many are, easy to leave stuff in car. Con's are the same just either in the car and if your lucky nova gives you a change area. It took me a bed, chair and mirror to dress myself all those years ago, now I can do it blind folded. Have fun, one day I may make my way up to WA again
  7. Hi Lachy, Many here in Victoria have the two piece for the comfort of the bathroom break. Though I cannot stress enough, I've seen too many troopers having issues with Kidney stones. This is from not drinking enough water so they have no need to visit the bathroom. Kidney stones are very painful. Also holding on is also another issue in its self this can cause bacteria to build up. So best to make sure you have plenty water and take the time to have a bathroom break. Your health is important, not to be taken for granted. A tip going to the bathroom, you can take a number of parts off so your comfortable to walk into the bathroom, depending if you have troopers with you, holding belts and helmets are a must and you do get quite experienced with the cumberbun to make it safe and hygienic.
  8. Sorry Alexandra, busy weekend. Do you have a pistol? make sure you can fit your gun into the holster. Sanding isnt fun but it will make it look more finely tuned. I also wouldn't worry about the size of it, I had to replace mine and had to buy a larger one, its fine as long as the gun sits in.
  9. Hello Chelle, Just as Q mentions none that we know make to order. Being in Australia getting the order from over seas is quite pricey If you wish to make your own which is quite easy, there are so many build threads here. I got my boots from BigW or sometimes Target have them. You can get the vinyl and Velcro from Spotlight. You can use shoe glue and Hot glue both work well on different parts of the boot. If you dont have a heat gun and good ol hair dyer is fine, my first pair I used a hair dyer. We are here to guide you as well.
  10. Hi ya Micah, Good to see you found the build threads for the outstanding compact Scouts Being 4’11 I made it work, when you’re up to soft parts remember pouches for a 6 foot is very different sizing for someone not as tall, and we are looking to making it an illusion. I get it with being mistaken for a kid, my adult kids find it quite amusing. mind you it is good when wearing an Ewok 😚
  11. Kris looking good, you've done an excellent job on the weathering and making the Scout armour fit to you. Wishing you all the best with the Approval, though I doubt you'll need it.
  12. Thank you Chopper. Hi Chelle, pop into Bunnings you'll find they are cheaper than auto barn or the paint shop. I normally go for what I have left in the shed from spraying other items. (I have a big tub of paints) A basic spray paint for plastics aka toys, it will come in a semi gloss as well, they will also have swatches to show you which looks best, chat to the Bunnings expert about the paints, though you should be looking at around $7 to $15 depending on which one you use . Good thing is if you paint a flat matt and dont like it just spray over it with gloss or semi gloss you cant go wrong.
  13. Hello Victoria...ah a fellow Jawa!! If you have some sewing skills, I believe you could attempt your soft parts. There are plenty of patterns here and really its more of straight lines and the pattern measurements are straight forward. Good thing if you've made your own and later down the track you need to replace ...easy! you made it before. In the years of mine I've replaced nearly all my soft parts, after 10 years the armour holds up but the fabric doesn't. I mentioned to another member Studio creations (fantastic to deal with) are a good fit as well, my daughter is your height. (far away creations) Awesome you're going for Lancer. Once you've start your build all of us here will keep an eye on it and help you along. One hint I give many future Scouts that get fitted for soft parts, have your armour first, before the cummberbun is correctly made, each chest piece sits differently on each person this will help with the length and placement of the pouches, the black undersuit whether its overhauls or 2 piece they might be one of the first things to get going. Boots another easy make, patterns are on here with step by step.
  14. Hello Scaraman, Love you choice in armour. Outstanding you're making your own. Personally I would've fitted the belt and chest piece before calculating where the bun is to start and finish. So be aware you may need to some adjusting, one size doesn't fit all... being under 5 foot my measurements are very different to others. Now in saying that your pouches... the ends they don't look flat they seem to have an off angle? Also they don't seem to be fitted on the top as well. I had to make a couple before I got mine right.
  15. Hi Ya Nick, working on my Scout was the first time I ever used a dremel. Videos are great. Also have on hand the Photos from the movie, great resource reference if you get my drift 😏 See if you can touch base with your local Garrison if there are any build days coming up or chase up members in your area with the same kit you can check out. I would attend events and check out the other Scouts and pick their brains. The biggest tip I have (well there are two) take your time, and there is never a silly question, its the one you didn’t ask.
  16. haha Scot I had read all that... nar well done! It's a pleasure to help members achieve their goals and congratulations, you've done a great job!
  17. HI ya Tania its me Kelly. (the lass that has your jacket) Creating a jumpsuit isn't for the faint hearted not something I would want to tackle either though there is some easier options, I've got a two piece under suit using black cargo pants and black long sleeve business short. Trick is getting them the same shade as black and unpicking any out standing add ons. I've made quite a few cummberbuns here in Victoria, I don't do interstate as I need to personal fitting, and stress they wont fit. You've got spotlight yeah... fabrics you can get from there easy. If you know anyone that has a sewing machine I can help them or yourself through it. The soft parts are really quite easy, I've got all the patterns, also for the boots from Izzy in Tassie, those boot patterns have been given out around Australia. I'm here and talk you through it. I have faith in you! There are a number of pathfinders in your neck of the woods. Best start is look at their soft parts, check out their cummberbuns, mines a two piece updated a fews back. There will be one soft part you'll have to purchase, the gloves. Keep an eye out for those, they wont be cheap. Dewbacks reading this, next troop remember to show Vixon your scout while not kitted up... I was going to say that a different way but yeah.
  18. That I can, Alex are able to lay flat your cummerbund and cod piece, I’m not on my computer atm, I can show how to wear it once I’m home with photos and if you need to adjust any pieces, either way from your first photo it looks good
  19. Will, we've all made one of those "bugger I screwed up moments" You'll be able to re-sell it quite easy. Wishing you all the best
  20. Hi Juan, I know ChrisThePropGuy personally. His work on Clones is outstanding. I must point out his located in Australia, making you aware of Postage. Though I would suggest if you've brought your armour from one place you might consider buying your Helmet there as well if they offer. Otherwise Chris is good.
  21. Thanks Chopper, Tim isn't a builder and does need a physical hand from others with his kits, we've chatted on our local boards, Rudi and myself have given him advice and offered assistance. He lives a couple of hours away from the main city so it can be difficult and relies on others for transport, so there lies a bit of a pickle. Hey @Boy Scout of Endor we were supposed to catch up, though I never saw you. I do hope you did get to chat to couple of the members while you where there at the convention this past weekend.
  22. Hi ya Jennifer, if you’re handy with a machine and it looks like you are. unpick the zipper down a few inches down (when it’s hidden by the chest peace), cut the ends of the zipper seal it, then sew the unpicked top half neatly and add clips or Velcro. You might find it will also close up the little gap you have at the top. You can also later on make a two piece under suit for the those events aka troops that tend to go just about all day, trust me it’s great when you don’t need to completely underdress to go to the bathroom, myself and others in my Garrison can stay suited up all day.
  23. This an incredible team, congratulations again.
  24. The local lads are in South Australia, Sean their old school you may know a few. They’re are just blokes making on time off so there is a wait list, I’m one of them not for a Scout, but I may need another helmet for a kit I have. Mmm the Mandalorian me thinks. Spike to which I know as Steve is really awesome. Rudi you know what going to do for the next 100 times I see you. Sean it was one of those troops we ran across town do a couple in the city May the 4th about 8 years ago? Logan forgot his under armour so he wrangled, Myer than a MSO. We did get up to some shenanigans hence the photo. I do have the helmets off pic was going to post it
