4505Marcel replied to mariellejaworski's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hey Jeff personally I would say go for the knees first mate as we can get by for now with the rest. My SC armour is lancer cleared but wouldnt now only because of the knees, we need that return edge mate urgent for the second knee strap, what do you think mate? -

''lancer'' knee armor questions!

Unfortunately there are not many endors that supply a knee armour with a correct egde return on them. Moncal does and also one of the UK guys is now molding them, and SC are updating as far as I know, they are not vey expensive to buy so would recomend that route, but at this time I would accept rivits on the side close to the edge as you have pictured but look at screen grabs for correct placement, but as these new knees become more available I will write in the CRL that the rivit must be on a return edge. -
Yup just shim it and fit them over the slot, failing that source anouther TD box with a wider slot, the proper ones have a wider slot the circle greeblie side as well, so they shouldnt be the same. Quick fix is to shim though

Lonewolf Biker Scout Helmet, new version

Looking good mate -
The standard CRL has been quite poor in its content for a long time, so once I became DL last year it was the first thing I wanted to address. Other costumes have come on leaps and bounds and the bikers were getting left behind, as a so so costume. So to answer your question yes you now need a vest, mud flap and crotch patches, all the scouts had them on screen so it was a no brainer not to add them.

Il try and get some for you shortly mate, leave it with me -
Comming along nicely bro, as said just to be picky as you seem to be going for accuracy I would say you could of thinned/narrowed down the pouches a touch as you look quite selnder, also the ribbing on the front of the bund could have been closer togther for your frame and the butt flap could have been a touch wider to cover more of your butt all just for right scale. If you wanted to improve the look of the legs you could tighten up the flight suit a touch by running a stitch down the inner seams, now all of the above are not needed for standard clearance, but you have such a nice looking set up and could get lancer with a few tweaks I have mentioned it

New Scout: Question about MC armor ordering
4505Marcel replied to dr. whodat's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I still prefer the tie wrap only option for attaching the TD and that is what I would look for in a lancer at this point. Its anouther area that needs alot of reasearch untill we know EXACTLY whats what. Post away with screen grabs in this thread and see if its anouther area we can clear up. Moncals in my eyes are way to big and are too in yor face visually. "I just double checked again as I thought the clips were not in the CRL, and they are not at this time. In the past we have said no to them as we were never sure, but again lets reasearch this with blue ray still and once discussed and nailed down I will put them in." -
Their not bad, they do look well made. Few issues though, the soles are the wrong colour though they shouldnt be two toned so that would have to be changed (painted), also the donor boots have the wrong sole stitch, the stitching is visable around the sole between the trim and sole again this would need to be changed or would fail lancer. The vynil trim around the toe is not long enough and is showing the underneith boot, so make sure he is aware of that and makes yours correct. And like you say they need the soles cut. They are also quite exensive, especially given they are not 100% correct. You would be fine for standard clearance I guess, but for lancer no. I would look at other options first before buying these in my opinion.

If the bund isnt white it isnt any good in my opinion, off white pouches are ok but the bund must be white, if its just a tiny bit off white you may be ok and weather it up so its not noticable, but if it is noticable send it back. That being said KS dont build for the 501st they buld for themselves as a business, so if they wanted to send them out with pink dots what can you say, did you ask if it was white?

New Scout: Question about MC armor ordering
4505Marcel replied to dr. whodat's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Like Chex said it wont cost any more to build to lancer specs from the off, its just fit and strap sizes really go for it -
E6000, you wont need any for a scout kit, only place I have E6000 is for building the boots. A tiny bit of epoxy for the T bits, TD Greeblie and tank topper is all I used. And some self sticky velcro to hold the elastic to the armour, mines been going strong for 4 years.

Nice one Sara, you may find with SC that you will need to reduce the size of the armour parts a touch, to fit your small frame. I had to shorten the shoulders, biceps and knees for my misses aswell as taking a fair bit from the shoulder straps to bring it up on her. Its an easy thing to do though

I understand your thoughts Heather but really dont want to put any graphical divides into the forum, we must unite together, Ive put anouther idea into the other thread which may help.

Hi Guys Thank you to everyone for your trust and who voted for me to continue as DL of this fine detachment, I am over the moon to stay as on DL for anouther term. Really looking forward to the 2012 year ahead. There are quite a few changes/issues that I want to address, and so I will be posting a thread soon for us all to post in and elaborate on each others ideas, to make the BSN better for everyone. I noticed a thread on the FISD about scouts and some of our new scouts have said they found that we are not as helpfull as their scout thread, I find this a little disheartening as every new scout when signing up here is always greeted well and fellow scouts always say any help or questions fire away, my views on reading this thread was that guys just want to have all the info there without asking for help in black and white. So again we need to look at this. New staff positions- I would like to formally welcome Bob aka Brotherhalo back to staff and will be looking after the web issues along side Army scout. I would also like to welcome to staff Mike aka Chex, and Daan aka 7021. They will be brought upto speed by Andi and myself and will be your new scout armourers for a trail period and hopefully taking the positions full time. Daan will continue to be the guy you need to send pictures to for the lancer page as and when. Thanks again "Lets go to work"

Myself and Andi have been speaking, and we are happy to clear you. But first we would like the belt itself at the back changed to white webbing, we also feel if you move the rear drop box straps where their rivited/attached to the belt, backwards nearer the TD hose the drop box themselves will sit flatter as their sloping a touch. No need to re post full pictures, just of the belt please. -
If your bund fits well it shouldnt drop, so chance are yours is either too loose or not tall enough. Simple solution is to add straps/braces like you say bro, easy fix
