Nice number 3 now were cooking troopers!

This was discussed months ago by all the staff and lancers, the best solution we thought to avoid the whole what is the correct tones of off white and beige, thing was to stick to white or off white for the pouches, but still staying close ish to white rather than beige if that makes sense. White for clean scouts and white/off white for those wanting to go weathered was the outcome of the discussion. I searched long and hard for a heavy weight twill (duck cloth) in natural, but all I could find was way too biege. Best bet is to buy white and use a weak dylon or tea solution to get to them closer to film off white. But even then when guys post a show thread, everyones monitors show things slightly different coloured, which puts anouther spanner in the works.

7651 Scout - What do I need to for Lancer?
4505Marcel replied to ChickMacGyver's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Firstly ive changed you to pathfinder as you are now cleared, welcome aboard. As said above there is quite a bit that would need to be altered and swapped to go for lancer, lots have been listed already for you to see. Unfortunately the armour you have is quite inaccurate in places, Lancer is all about being very close to what is seen on screen in parts and also the fit itself. That being said you wear what you have very well and the build itself is well put together. Lancer is not hard to get but you do need to have close armour to work with, now this is something that can be upgarded as you go and work towards while enjoying the costume. White pouches are acceptable, as is off white. No beige. -

Thanks guys over the moon to be able to take the reins of DL for the BSN for the remainder of the year, I do love this place and will continue to keep it the awesome part of the 501st we call home. As this is an official thread I would like to announce my replacement for the XO position, this goes to Andi Cyberscout. What this guy doesnt know about scouts isnt worth knowing, hes worked very hard along side me lately and has been an awesome armourer. Im waiting to hear back from someone US side to fill one part of the armourer position, but also will be looking for a european based armourer. As I said in my election thread there is going to be two just like we have for the kashyyyk side. I want to involve staff from other countries so we can best get a feel for whats going on in other garrisons. "Lets go to work" -
How will you go about seperating a sole off a donor boot and attaching this one, or will it go to a boot maker to have the boots made bespoke to suit the sole?

EFX to make a Biker Scout helmet from the original molds

Heres hoping my budget will allow me to buy one -
Looking good my man!

As said above this info hasnt come to light yet, so I went with the easy to dress option on my bunds. I have it sewn into the back and a popper in the cod inside at the front.

Welcome to the BSN, pull up a chair and make yourself at home, be sure to contact our armourer for advice on your build. Were all here to help.

hen I put my wifes together I had to trim quite abit off the bottom of the shoulder bells and also a touch off the top of the biceps. I then used a heat gun to shape them a little narrower to suit her arms, I also bent over the shoulder bridge pieces to again get a better fit on her. It wasnt a problem when I built mine but for Amanda it was a must. Look forward to seeing pics as and when.

EFX to make a Biker Scout helmet from the original molds

Where did you find this out mate is there a statement somewhere? -
The scout armour uses up far less room than say a TK, so any large wheeled suitcase will do the job. I tend to stick to the hard cases to avoid damage ect, but I have in the past just used a holdall (sports bag) when I have had anouther costume in the case just so I can put it on my back.

The Lonewolf Biker Scout lid
4505Marcel replied to Cyber Scout's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
LIe I said earlier stunning bro stunning, now I just need to order my good lady and myself one of these bad boy kits -
What else works well is mixing some brown acrylic with water and flicking it on the bund front with a tooth brush, looks like oil splats from the speeder. Simon M gave me that tip years ago and I love it. Also I use shades or green and brown and dip a sponge in the paint and sort of brushit past the armour or bund and it looks like trees or bushes have wacked the armour as you go past.
-
Agreed I would defo buy a tan coloured sole set of boots bro, the paint will be a constant touch up thing me thinks, just make sure you buy singke colour soles and have no visable stitching once done to replicate the screen used boots
-
Nice look forward to updates, im sure I can squeeze my size 10 in there lol
-
Id say if you can get away with it close in the sides, BUT like most I keep things in mine so need to be able to get a foam in and out easy to mount my sound board. The stitched sides will close in the usuall pouch sag. I may well close mine and just see how I get on with it.
-
Looking good there bro, looks like you have the sleeves the right length also, so many end up with way too long sleeves.
-
I doubt it will fit directly in the groove of my SC, as its thin but I did hear they are now wider. What are we going to say is the thickness of the top knee elastic? 12mm ( 1/2") looks about riight to me.
-
Can I suggest you wait mate, we have just lost Mike who over sees Lancer apps with Dave and myself, so we have to fill his shoes, and also give Dave time to tweak the crl and then go for it, but its upto you bro
-
Defo the knee strap should be in the lancer requirments now I will be doing mine and the misses this week. I feel we should hold off for now having the TD greeble as a requirment untill we can source a good supplier for these and get them up in the trade section here. If guys then choose not to buy them then lancer will not be granted, simple mod that should be done now this grey area has become clearer.

TB-9963 Requesting Lancer Deployment (PENDING)
4505Marcel replied to Ranger Zee's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Theres a few areas that could do with a tweak bro, your shoulder bells want moving out at the top a little, to stop the bell flare at the bottom. You thigh straps are very loose and your flight suit is also loose in the legs. I recon you could probably pull your chest down a little and raise your belt to close some of your bund gap at the front. Can you also please bare with us time wise as as Mike has stepped down so we will be looking for anouther lancer app mod to cover the applications also. -
TB-6918 Requesting Lancer Status (PENDING)
4505Marcel replied to TK6918's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
One thing that jumps out to me is I cant see the 6 rasied ribbed areas on your bund between your pouches. -
I used a heat gun from a local model shop for areoplanes ect, heat and bend easy. Be carefull if using a paint stripping heat gun as that could do alot of damage
