Welcome to BS.N! You're def in good hands with those two. I started with biceps, elbows knees.
-
Feels good to get the armor ordered doesn't it?
-
LOL Jim that was Chef, not me. But yes, Chef pretty much covered what was needed. I'd like to recommend switching to an Under Armor balaclava as they're more form fitting and won't leave you with a turkey chin. Miami eh? Everglades territory. Haven't seen you post up on the Florida Garrison boards..at least I don't think I have yet. You've got a good looking scout. Other then the fish hook, I don't see a reason why you won't be cleared. Look forward to seeing your pics come up on the Florida GML section. I'm sure Everglades will be pleased to have another scout in the Squad. But they do have some nice scouts down there so you'll fit right in.

Welcome! And James pretty much hit the nail on the head. Do your research, and be patient.

Pandatrooper's SC Biker Scout build
Chex replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Looking great. Love those knees! -
The 2nd or 3rd look the best. Remember this has to be stretched over the toes, heated, and stretched until you get it covered nicely. Not too thick, but not too thin is how you want it.

Great start, looking good!

lol very nice design. Good work guys!

SC Scout Helmet Prototype 2012 - feedback?
Chex replied to StudioCreations's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
That's one of the reasons I recommend him to newbies. -
You can make those side slits bigger so that it doesn't bunch up there. But looking good!
-
Awww puppy. Hey are you taller then that Vader? And yeah, but you also put some work into that KS to make it look good right?
-
Ks has a wider chest and back then sc. I don't prefer it, but some can make the ks look good.

You have to e-mail them, and they'll replay with all the info you need.

I wouldn't pin or connect anything from the shoulder bell to the bicep. It would look sloppy seeing elastic like that on the outside of the vest sleeve. If you have to, sew some velcro on your sleeve where you want the biceps. Remember, it's ok if the biceps sit a little under the vest sleeve.

I don't. Almost 30 year old esprits don't like water. If they get dirty, I just wipe off witha damp cloth.

Prolly the KS helmet, Brandon. If you've seen Jim Cembrook over in Makaze, he's got a decent size noggin, and he sports a KS.
-
But since the chances of getting one are slim, might want to go with the KS bucket. They're pretty roomy.

That's a CB helmet. I think it's his newest version. He is a member here on the boards, so he's a safe person to buy from. All in all not a bad helmet, though not the most accurate out there.
-
Wondering if those are CABoots. I know those can be expensive, and remember that if they are, and you plan on using them, that you def need to have that holster mounted. I know scouts who were approved old school with no holsters, and still don't wear one to this day...and it aggravates the heck out of me. And we still let them troop canon events like that. Ugh.

I just used rustoleum auto primer. Just don't buy the dark gray primer.

My first question would be, what kind of boots are those? Looks like a seam up the front of the boot, which there should not be. Also, your tubes are a little too high. Would like to see at least a 2-3 inch gap between boot and knee armor. KS armor can tend to run a little big on short people. There was a trooper about your height and build who put together a nice KS set up and fit it to her size. Have to check the archives, but it could give you some good insight. As for your pouches, I would say they need to be scaled down a little more to fit you better. Your webbing for your hip boxes should be 1.5 inch, and your clip should be centered between the belt and box. Yours is too close to the hip box. Not a bad build so far though. Post up some more pictures, and I'll see if I can't track down that old build thread for you.

Stand by Terry. We'll try to get you an answer asap.

Exciting! Can't wait to see some numbers on ya.

You're not done yet?

Yeah those would be fun to modify for Lancer. You can just get a standard pair of boots from Target, and just paint the soles.
