  1. If the suit fits snuggly it will pass Lancer. Too many people wear the flight suits and the material bulges out around the knees and elbows and looks horrible. If the needed mods are done and it fits well, it will pass. Lancer is more about the overall appearance than it is about using the parts that someone else uses or recommends. I'm a large guy and getting a flight suit that will fit my shoulders and waist will look like a tent on my arms and legs. I didn't really answer the question did I? Hmmm, ok, flight suits can pass, if they look right. Even more ambiguous...
  2. Happy New Year BSN! Hopefully this year will be better than ever and we'll have more scouts added to the Legion than ever before. This will be our first full year with Kashyyyk Scouts and we all look forward to seeing more and more of them. I was lucky enough to troop with Matt Lindon and his beautiful wife Kristie in the past few months and can say that having seen two Kashyyyks in person, I'm seriously considering contacting Mr. Bungle for a kit. I have a request for the membership, that anyone who has applied for Pathfinder status, or needs anything from the staff and has not been looked after yet, please post again in the appropriate forums requesting help and we'll get to you right away. I've been remiss in my detachment duties this past two months with family issues, but hope with the new year, comes new vitality and things will get done here quicker and better than ever. If anyone needs anything or has any questions, feel free to post in any of the applicable areas, or contact me directly and I'll see what I can do for you. it is just easier to start fresh than to spend time pouring through the forums looking for unanswered or unhandled items. The staff will endeavor to get things done. Also remember that elections will be coming soon too, anyone interested in helping out should contact me. David Granger TB-3627
  3. Yes, Star Fortress. It could be as little as 2 years old. I believe they made a new version in the last two years. That helmet would not be admissable for Biker Scout in the 501st Legion. it is in no way accurate to the movie helmet.
  4. Watch out, yer gonna get Phil started...
  5. It's THIS bad, check out the warp!
  6. It's a "Tippmann A5 Paintball G36 Folding Stock", purchased off eBay, got it for $10.
  7. I haven't had any time to work on mine. I cut down the back stock. I added a folding stock which can disconnect the same way it did out of the box. I chopped up the barrel to grab the connector and muzzle and added those to a new barrel. I used proprotions from the art image to determine size of barel compared to the stock. I intend to cut some slots in the outer barrel. The original inner barel is still inside and this sthing still fires nerf bullets.
  8. LadySewForUs and 4505Marcel both do excellent work.
  9. Looks great! Skin on fingers is overrated.
  10. Looks good Amanda, you'll hear from us soon.
  11. I bought one on the weekend and began disassembling it. Let's see what I come up with.
  12. She looked great!
  13. I hate to say it, but that's actually not too bad.
  14. No, just try and make it look as even and neat as possible. I make my cuts at the existing sole ribs and then in between.
  15. This is a forum for Biker Scouts in the 501st Legion. Some people may care if they are canon or not. One of the purposes of the 501st Legion is to strive to make our costumes more screen accurate, not easily put together with whatever we can find. There are two people in my garrison who wear CA boots and the top of the boots is under their knee armor. Which is wrong for the costume. Yes, some people may not care about that, but I believe in general, people are striving to be more accurate. Of course, doing it cheaper and more accurate at the same time can always be a bonus.
  16. I could look if you want and post them here for you, my email is tb3627@live.com
  17. Just the bottom cuts in the heal are acceptable for lancer. When I started doing my boots, I only did the bottom cuts. I switched to a boot with a more uniform sole that is easier to cut. Now I am doing the tops as well. Original: New:
  18. CA Boots, altho usable are not canon. They are too tall, lack the rear velcro and have the wrong sole. For price and wearability and being canon, you cannot beat making your own boots from the boot tutorial here. If I can make 30+ pairs of boots in 7 months, anyone can make a pair of boots.
  19. Can't wait to see this in 2 weeks!
  20. Great job! Nice looking boots.
  21. DLT-19 DLT-20 T-21
  22. The consideration will be that the height of the pouch is to be from the bottom of the chest plate to the top of the belt. That will allow you to scale.
  23. She's gonna look great! Can't wait to see her at Mid-Ohio Con!
  24. Theyt are a good edition to clean up the joint. The screen used suits has some sort of tape or cloth wrap which can be seen on the MOM costume. Putting this on finishes it nicely and will not prevent you from getting Lancer. Lancers are encouraged to have this finishing touch. It is not listed specifically, but it is considered part of the finish of the armor.
  25. Jeff's customer service is always great. He'll sort you out I'm sure. As for the cloth covering... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=6891
