New Star Wars Kashyyyk Trooper Model from Revel
LENOX61 replied to TB4952's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
NICE!!!! -
Skip- I agree with Dan. Hang in there pal! No two Kashyyyk are "completely" identical. I know I am one of the newer guys but I have also studied various stills, articles and damn near memorized the Kashyyk battle frame by frame from the Sith movie in order to get a grip on the character before my build. Where its either the camo pattern, the shade of dye used for the soft armor, or the difficulty of the build, they all appear slightly different . Don't give up.

Hey guys, I thought I would share some pics with you since getting approved. I was able to jump on a couple of Carida Troops right away......this first one was a library event near my home : This event was to promote reading and the kids loved it! I was reffered as "Mr. Camo Biker Scout guy". This next one was a smaller troop at a local Boy Scout meeting. Carida members were asked to attend for the holidays while members played an altered version of Star Wars Jeopardy with the Scouts. These Scouts immediately recognized the KT and was familiar with his roll in the Sith movie. This was another hit with the kids!! This last one was a Lucas Film event in Philly (Clone Wars screening of "Savage Oppress" at a movie theater). A variety Clones were asked to attend. Once again, it was a huge hit with the kids!!! I tried to sneek a seat inside the theater before it started .......it didn't last for long. These troops were awesome.......I cannot wait for more!!

Thanks Angelo.

Thanks guys.....I will make the adjustments in the near future. I will also try to score some British BDU's as well (as soon as I get some additional cash together. Zach to answer your question, I went to Lowes and bought some cheap knee pads (they were about 3-4 dollars). I then removed the elastic from the knee pad and glued (combination of hot and epoxy) them to the inside of the shoulder pieces. I had to clamp them down in order to secure them but it is very comfortable once they are in place.

Hey everybody- I JUST GOT APPROVED!!!!!!!!I am extremely excited to finally be a part of the 501st but mostly a part of the elusive, rare KASHYYYK TROOPER. I would like to thank those who also influenced me as I began this quest....... LONESCOUT, DARTH LINDON, MOSI, MR. B (GREAT ARMOR) and the others (you know who you are....sorry if I forgot to mention you specifically). I promise you guys...........not only will I present a new character (the rare Kashyyyk Trooper) to the 501st family, but it will be done with pride, honor, respect, professionalism, but mostly fun. As promised earlier, here are some pics of my completed KT : Here are some pics of my finished costume HERE IS MY TWIN BROTHER (NO PUN INTENDED) AND MYSELF..........ORDER 66-- My fellow Carida comrads have branded me "WYSEGUY". The "Y" represents the three Y's from Kashyyyk Order. I think I am going to stick with it ( although you can also call me SWAMP THING---thanks Mosi). ANYWAY.......LET THE TROOPING BEGIN!!!!

Gloves are looking good......keep it up!!!

OK guys, here is another Lenox build update. The following pics show my completed (cloth covered) drop pouches, cod piece, belt, and heavily weathered cumber bun and canvas (custom made) ammo pouches....... Here are my finished gloves........ My finished pants and filthy riding patch........ Here are my cruddy boots and shins which are both heavily weathered............. I finally see the finish line. I submitted my pics yesterday and am hoping everthing will be approved. I will post additional pics of my completed Kashyyyk once I get word from Carida. This last one is a teaser pic........I stood in front of a black curtain while suited up in my workshop for the first time. I was taking various pictures to be submitted when somebody handed me a weapon.......stick 'em up Wookie!!!!! OOHHHH YEAHHHHH!!!!!! KASHYYYK RULE!!!!!!
-
Congrats..............well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I used all of the dark brown, let it completely dry out and then used all of the black and let that dry completely also. I noticed when I did mine, it appeared darker because it was wet. After it dried, it did fade but it gives you the color which is preferred.

After the painting, weathering and fitting processes, here are some additional pics of the shoulders and arm pieces: Here some pics of the knees, chest, and tank : I am currently working on the ammo pouches (which are cloth). I still have a few more to make but it is coming along slowly. This pic shows the unpainted ammo boxes, cumber bun, and belt. In addition, I am also working on weathering my boots, my seamless shin armor and am gathering materials for starting the gloves. Hopefully I will be posting some additional progress pics in the near future. This last one is after I got an "itch" to see what it is starting to look like with just a few pieces: More to come................
