  1. I'm pretty sure someone over here in the UKG has a cast of that. Not sure who though. Marcel, was it yours and you sold it on??
  2. Pictures are better than words in that case... Carefully trim this area here, until it will sit in place. It may well be that you need to push the bottom of the back plate up a little to help it sit correctly. Keep an eye on the bit in the circle, make sure these correspond to the bump on the back. Also make sure the bit around the dotted line runs in the same plane as the backplate. REMEMBER: take small bits out, try... take another small bit out, try again. Don't take a big chunk out, because you can't put it back in again!
  3. Depends on how shiny you want it... If you were to ask the owner of a Porsche 911 they would say yes... If you were to ask the owner of a Fiat Panda... they'd probably say no.
  4. I'd trim a little out of the upper section where it joins the bottom raised section of the back plate. That should solve all your issues.
  5. Avoid that little offering like a virulent itching condition. You'll thank us in the long run.
  6. with all polish, it will create a gloss finish on a gloss paint, the more highly polished you go. G3 will polish to a gloss no problem. If you're wanting a matte finish, but scratch removal, you'd probably need to use a very very fine wet and dry paper, such as 2500 grit. Ultimately it depends on the scratches that are left in the paint, as to what best grade of paper to use.
  7. In the bin is where they should go... They're not on the Screen Used holster, so they should not be on yours either.
  8. You need a cutting compound such a Farecla G3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Farecla-G3-Rubbing-Compound-Regular-Cutting-Paste-400g-Car-Polishing-cloth-/111435113786?hash=item19f20ce53a:m:mztS0uvJ0AZ2DR0QwqeHPgg It's basically a harsh polish. It's the middle bit between really fine wet and dry sandpaper and a final polish. Works exactly the same as a polish, put a bit on a damp cloth and just rub and buff until the marks are removed. Then hit with a final polish such as G10 or equivalent.
  9. not really... small fingers or a block.
  10. If you can find stuff for your drop box straps, use the same stuff as that.
  11. If that cotton is 40mm wide (or the imperial equivalent) then yes... it will be fine.
  12. You have to factor in the Bucks though.... That's where the vast majority of the time goes. I made my original fibreglass panel 'moulds' years ago, and they were spaced over about an 18 month period. They were then converted bucks for forming about 3 years ago, and that process took a couple of weeks. They still get 'time' for updating and general maintenance. So it's difficult to say exactly how many hours went in to the construction of them... But it was a lot. Now, my Colonial Marine stuff is more quantifiable as I kept a slightly better record of the time spent. From start to finish, the bucks took me about 3 months to build to a state where I was happy with them (they've still undergone a few revisions since then...). And that was about 30hrs a week... so 30x5=150x4=600x3=1800hrs. And that's no small beans! And again... it's not all about just sitting at the former pulling plastic. I'm sure Jeff can regain us with tales of how many hours he probably spends answering emails, responding to enquiries, assisting with queries, speaking to suppliers, collecting materials, doing the accounts and all other myriad dull stuff that saps your time away. We all know how stuff can build up, a sudden unexpected glitch in the programme, and suddenly you're behind with stuff (flight suits etc....) so it's not about the couple of hours each unit takes to produce... There's more to it than that. The fundamental issue here isn't the wait time, it's the wait time AFTER HAVING PAID. Once you've parted with your cash, you're bound to that seller. Once it goes past the 40 days or what ever for PayPal, you loose your buyer protection. At that point you're out on a limb... You've got to wait and hope that your vendor will come through. Too many times on here we've seen people start up runs of stuff and it all fall apart. (Not MonCal I dare say, there issue seems to be just time... not eventual delivery). And whilst you're waiting... All you can do is sing the praises of your vendor, lest they get the hump with you and delay your order even further in favour of those more amenable. Yeah MonCal has the goods... But he's also had peoples money for up to 18 months... And for me, that's the bit that is not on. At all. Yes, he's probably chasing the larger dollar that's coming with the work with Anovos (from what I can make out), but that still shouldn't allow him to ignore the smaller dollar which he already has in his pocket from the previous customers. If you've got the dollar... You're duty bound to provide the goods. Plain and simple.
  13. If you realistically need anything more than 2"... it's going to be a new one.
  14. Stick your finger in the centre of the dog bone in the middle of an imaginary circle that the arc of the dog bones would trace. When the feed dogs on the machine pull the material, it will pivot around your finger, tracing the same curve.
  15. The construction method of the split half bucket is a full on nightmare. Takes absolutely for ever to make (a couple of days 'each') with all the trimming, sanding, painting etc... It's possible they may have underestimated this a little, and if something goes wrong (as is very likely with paint), then that just compounds everything. I try not to give dates on my built buckets for this very reason. They're ready when they're ready.
  16. Hopefully your machine will have a stitch length adjuster on it, and the pedal should allow you to vary the speed from slow to fast. Turn the stitch length down to about 18-20 (stitches per inch) and just go slow. What machine is it??
  17. But you can always go Storm Commando! Probably the only thing better than a Scout.
  18. Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't match any of the references, so wouldn't pass the LMO's for acceptance onto the rosters.
  19. Can someone migrate this into the Helmet comparison thread...
  20. Nope... I don't count the Kashyyks, as they are Clone Troopers and a different armour set to the Scout. There's Biker Scout Storm Commando Snow Scout Swamp Trooper Sea Trooper Forest Trooper The last two need to be officially 'cleared', but we're working on it.
  21. Remember to put it in the helmet comparison thread! http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10737&st=0
  22. The CB is much larger than any of the others, Without having seen an Altmann's I can't put it in the list. I would say from the measurements and comparisons, largest to smallest is... CB LoneWolf Chef DP/Rubies KropSerkel MLC Studio Creations There isn't much in it from the LW down to be honest. Please check here for comparisons (that's what it's for!). http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10737&st=0
