I'd say stick the pictures in here for starters.... Once we know what we're dealing with then we can direct you better. Welcome aboard!

Gino... Considering that this is a suit that YOU made (and not something out of the archives). Would you be willing to give us the details from your suit? Such as what material you used for your bund etc. Various sizes and stuff that we need to nail down? You've had that mannequin on public display, so technically this information is already out in the public domain.

What we have to remember here is that it is still not 'screen used'. Yes it is 'derived' from the screen used archive suit so it does provide a good reference, but there are still 'some' issues with it. Thermal detonator on the wrong way round anyone?? We do have a large amount of reference that has been gathered over the years and this can be used to greatly supplement it and it allows us to check certain things that get thrown up as questions as a result. For instance, something a few of us have long suspected is that the Bicep straps are 2" and not 1,3/4". Gino's scout seems to confirm this, and it is consistent with the screen used reference we have when it's checked with a bit more alacrity. Pouch size again... it's allowed us to narrow those down to a more definitive measurement. But it should not be used as the 'be all and end all'... Merely a very good cross reference tool with all the other stuff we have available.

IF you can get the boot soles painted to be the same colour and they don't crack all the time, then yes... If not.. it'll be a new pair of base boots time.

Best detachment in the world bro! But then maybe I am a little biased.

Considering that the A-280 is historically an "Alliance" weapon which on the face of it tends to look like it was taken from a 'dead' rebel, then I would suggest that the inclusion of the A-280 onto the CRL is going to be unlikely. Yes it has a single appearance in the game trailers, but that doesn't make it as commonplace as the 'sniper' type rifles that are continually associated with the Scout in general. The addition of the sniper rifles into the CRL was to add options for people other than the hold-out blaster and ones that are consistent with the multitude of references over the years for the Scouts as a whole. It is not intended to be a fall back for any 'in game' option that can be used as a basis for stuff that we can legitimately carry.

Difference between Biker Scout and Shadow Scout?
Chef replied to Kosejonas's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
They are basically the same. Just black. All the info is held over on the Spec Ops Detachment. http://forum.501stspecopsdet.net -
That's a cast from my original one.

Essentially the pouch is the same height as the gap between your chest plate and your belt. So if you have your armour, place your chest plate on, and your belt around your waist (in line with your navel) and then measure the gap between the two. This is how high your pouches need to be, so scale accordingly. It will vary depending on how big you are. I'm 6'1" and a 7"x6" is fine for me. Anyone who is a bit shorter, say in the region of 5'7" then they will be needing ones around 6"x5". As for how do you sew them? Have them inside out and sew the seams. When they're done, turn them back the right way. Internal stitching done!

It was the 9001 series headband that was used. You can still get them, but the newer versions use a black bolt rather than a grey one and they are subtly different. The grey ones are slightly concave, whereas the newer ones are slightly convex.
-
That's a bit of a new one on me... Loving how they've just used the chest plate for the back, and whacked a locating bump for the tank on top. Haven't even bothered to blank out the chest indent.

I think considering that certain characters are purely from games only (TK Commander?) then I would like to think that it's been pretty well hammered out. Stuff goes awry when there is inconsistency... But that's what a reference is there to eliminate.

2 quick questions for Belt and drop box straps.
Chef replied to TB-1599's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
If you are planning on going "Lancer" at some point, then I suggest you get this right from the get go. It's actually more complicated to try and swap stuff out after the fact than it is to just put it in right first time, and it's not really any more expensive and it's no more work beyond a little time spent sourcing the correct stuff. 1.5" (40mm) cotton webbing for the drop straps. 2" (50mm) nylon webbing for the belt (I suggest get enough to go completely around you and use that as a belt, rather than using the plastic belt as a supporting medium... It takes the stress off the belt). For the chest/back sides, use the same as the drop straps. I make one long length with a bit of elastic in the middle. It then joins on the chest plate with velcro, goes through the back plate and back to the chest but is essentially 'loose' across the back and the elastic allows it flex as you move and breathe. -
Yeah, I've been making them out of synthetic material for a long time now. I believe that due to the difference in texture as Andy pointed out that this is what causes the differences in 'colour' between the bund an the pouches and they were both indeed 'white'. The natural fibre of the cotton for the pouches and webbing just takes dirt better and makes it look muddier faster. Here's a couple of discussions we had on it back in 2012. http://forum.bikersc...h=1 http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9637&pid=84046&st=100entry84046

I am constantly getting badgered about can we use the E-11s Sniper Rifle on our scouts. Over here in the UK 'all' our troops are considered 'canon' and as such everything has to be on the CRL is order to be useable on a troop. I know this doesn't affect most of you but I think it would be nice to get something set in stone. Marcel managed to blag his DC-15x under the EU banner for use here and that's how it's been ran around for a while, but it still causes our 'head-shed' a few nightmares because it's not really listed anywhere official and what with a change round of GML's it all seems to be getting a little lost and clouded. No doubt this sort of issue crops up worldwide. So, my proposal. Officially add it to the CRL as an optional weapon type. Here's all my supporting back-ground gubbins. Blurb: http://starwars.wiki...1s_sniper_rifle Please note this That seems to hint at the term DC-15x referring to the Rebel version of the same rifle. No doubt the lazy programmers used the same sprite case for both weapons. So I think they should be called an E-11s and not a DC-15x. (but that's just me). The two designations seem to be interchangeable. More blurb: http://starwars.wiki...i/Scout_trooper The Scout as we all know well. Note the excerpts below. Reference Photos showing E-11s usage. Mostly canon sources. Old Battlefront I think?? Some other game... (I'm not good on games) New Battlefront?? Battlefront again? An erroneous DLT-20a (but still a long rifle) from new Battlefront I think? (maybe we could even include that??) Artwork... Origin unknown. SWGalaxies Trading card game I think. Official Licensed SideShow Collectible figure, Differing weapon 'styles' So all of the above seem to show a long rifle that appears to be based either on the MG34 (DLT-19) with a round barrel shroud or the MG42 with a squarish barrel shroud. Both with the addition of a Scope on top and mostly with a bipod. The clearest shots show the MG34 base, but I think either should be acceptable, as long as it contains the Scope/Bipod additions with maybe some other modifications. So I think there is a fair argument to say that there is sufficient canonical evidence to include it officially on the CRL. I'm pretty sure that 'canonicity' now fully includes sources such as game material and other licensed LFL sources rather than purely just the films 'canon'. I know it's something that people want, as it's been brought up on a number of occasions and gets mentioned to me all the time over here in the UK. What are everyones opinions. Feel free to discuss the minutiae of what should and shouldn't be acceptable, as well as the level of detail required etc... We must remember here that the final product has got to look 'real', but essentially not 'real world', if you get my meaning. The E11 for example was based on a real world gun, which essentially made it plausible and it looked real, but it was sufficiently disguised to not actually look like the original 'real world' Sterling. I look forward to hearing your views. Cheers Rob.

Well, I can't see your Thermal Detonator greeblies so can't comment on whether they will or they won't. Your end caps appear to be flat and not concave, so they won't, and the belt looks to have 2 securing rivets in it rather than the requisite single one, so that wouldn't pass muster either. The belt itself looks really nice though.

I get mine from Germany... But I do have it on rather big rolls. -
Mike... You always had and always will have my upmost gratitude and respect, you know that. I've said it elsewhere, but I'll say it again. Cheers Brother!

Essentially it looks like it should... The targeting lens in the scope needs to come out as the others have mentioned but beyond that it looks OK. Size wise, difficult to tell what with the perspective of the camera. The scope should be (if cast from a real one) around 190mm long from tip to tail. The rest seems proportionally sound. It's far from the worst blaster I've ever seen! supposedly an original.

The Sea Trooper is indeed being held over on Spec Ops. As I recall there isn't a preliminary CRL in place yet because nobody has officially submitted it to the Legion. But there is a wealth of information and reference for it. It just needs finishing up.

They are things of beauty.... trust me!
