DLT-19x

Recommended Posts

Looking to buy a DLT-19x for trooping.

Ok with a kit to assemble. I don't see any on the forum vendor page for sale.

Anyone know a great place to start? Any good prop shops create one?

There used to be more options a few years ago -- diamond state props, hyperfirm, praetorian. Sadly I don't believe any of them are active any longer.

I can't recall, do you have access to a 3D printer, or no?

A few in my local Parjai squad in Florida Garrison do.

I did find this place.

I contacted them and they see the DLT 19 and DLT 19x as a kit, clean and weathered as reasonable priced. Also sell an EC 17.

May want to add add Imperial arms to the list of vendors for weapons.

Hello there! I‘ve bought an E11 last year and I can say that the quality out of the Box is ok. As I remeber they offer different finishing. I chose the clean version and still have to get rid of the print lines. Communication was good! Later I bought an E11 bapty at https://www.3d-props.com/ and the quallty straight out of the Box was much better and it felt much more sturdy. Unfortunately they don‘t offer a Printservice at the moment only the files.
All does not have to apply for the DLT, just wanted to give you my impressions. I can send you pictures via PM if you want.

Well I can post the pictures here to Show you what I mean. The first is imperial arms and the second one 3D Props. Imperial Arms came in one piece and the other one disasambled. Both Need work but in direct comparisson the 3D Props is better. Especially because the detailed parts are casted in resin and therefore much more realistic. As I said regarding the e11!

I think the best way would be to buy a DIY kit because you need to sand and fill it anyway…

Thanks for the input.

The prices are good, but I definitely don't want to battle print lines if I can avoid it. Worth a little more money for less work and quality.

Resin is a little more fragile though right?

Depends on the thickness of the resin part. But as you can see on the hengstler Counter of my finished bapty there is a crack and that‘s because I screwed in the screw which fixes the counter to the rail a little bit so far…

But let me tell you one thing, filling and sanding can be very meditative! :-D

"Meditative" yes I see.

I have enjoying sewing and slowing waddling my armor into shape.

Chris, it’s a little more work and effort, but I second the “buy a DIY kit.” Not only will it save you some cash, but it’ll be waaay easier to sand and properly finish than a “finished kit.” Grab yourself some XTC-3D to smooth out the print lines and it will cut down on sanding immensely. Of course if you can get some mates in your Garrison to print one out for you and pay them for material and time, you might be able to save even more.

Here’s the free DLT19X files I used from Thingiverse:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3940279

It include the bipod for the DLT19, but if your going for the 19X then you just want to make sure you print out the barrel piece that does NOT have the bipod mount, as there is no bipod on the 19X.

Here’s photos of my DLT19X. You can see how smooth you can get the finish to look when you use XTC-3D.

EDIT: 2023/03/26

The creator of the STL files pulled them from Thingiverse sometime last year and now has them posted for a very nominal fee on Cults3D.  Absolutely worth way more than the $4.34 he charges now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a bit of warning... I bought a Hold out blaster from Imperial Arms. It took forever to arrive and when it did it was horrible. It was hollow and unfinished. The scale was off as it is to small (Even for a hold out blaster). The paint was terrible and it was all around flimsy. I was very disappointed and glad i didn't purchase something bigger like a DTL. A few of the guys in my garrison said they had similar problems and would not buy from them.

Granted... I have only dealt with them the one time. Unfortunately, once is enough

In the end. A friend of mine has a amazing 3-D printer and he printed a DLT-19x for me and it came out amazing. I'm finishing up the painting hopefully this week.

Best of luck to you!

Is this done using the PDF files you provided?

I found a local trooper who also has a 3D print shop side hussle who is going to try out the files for me.

Hey Chris, I’m not sure what you mean by PDF files, but the STL files from the Thingiverse link provided above are all you’ll need to get the DLT19X printed. The trooper printing them for you will need to get those files ready for printing in a program like Cura by slicing and creating a gcode file that the printer uses in the print process, but he’ll know how to do that if he has a side business doing 3D prints. If I’m missing something here just let me know and I’ll clarify.

Yep! The two photos I provided above are of my DLT19X which I printed using the files from the Thingiverse link in that post.

I do like the detail of 3Dprint over the Happy Trooper build.

Also carrying a friend's Happy trooper this weekend so I'll see the weight difference.

Finally starting the process.

Didnt want to pay an arm and a leg for my rifle. Got a friend to print at cost.

So the 3d print begins. Will follow ArandunFF's build thread for the how to.

I assume it has to be solid black? Was wondering about a wood look stock as the original MG34.
