Soft parts question
mickeymark34 replied to Michael_Davis26019's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
I was thinking of doing that, but the collar is really wide on it too. One of the details you saw on my Lancer app, one that you thought was a dressing issue, was part of the collar popping up on my shoulder. I figure making a new vest out of a T-shirt would be a better idea. -
Soft parts question
mickeymark34 replied to Michael_Davis26019's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
I'm going to go through the process of making my own vest soon, as the sleeves are too long on the one I paid to have made. A little disappointed at the fact that my current vest didn't work out in the end. I would have saved myself $97, considering the shirt I bought for the vest I'm going to attempt was only $3. -

Thanks Peter. I had the stirrups in my original submission, and it didn't seem to help with the bagginess. Chopper advised to use buckram to stiffen the cod. I did get some and put it in the new cod. We also did end up making the strap a little longer on the new one. I will definitely post up more pictures once we/I do the vest. After seeing the vest tutorial, my friend said it would just be easier to make a new vest, since I have all the material, than to alter the one I purchased. -
Getting a Sewing Machine Tomorrow

Hey guys. I have made some progress after practicing with my new sewing machine. Here’s some photos of the recommended changes I’ve made to my softgoods in pursuit of becoming a Lancer. I’ve widened my butt flap. The straps have been raised up on my legs. My friend, who gave me my sewing lesson yesterday, did this for me. He also helped my take the legs in so they are not so baggy. My friend also altered the pattern for my original cod widened it and cut the material, but I sewed it together. He did the curves, as I didn’t feel confident enough to make clean ones like he did. Now I only have to alter the flak vest I have, or make a new one, and I am ready to try and become a Lancer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

LOL. I can send you one if you want. I think we may have got a denim sewing needle in a pack that we bought, but I certainly will if we didn’t get one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Just picked it up a bit ago. I plan on tinkering with it a bit until I get the hang of it. -
Hello Scouts, I am working on getting my ducks in a row and attempt to finish my Lancer app. There is a list of things I need to do after my first attempt on the Lancer submission, and they all have to do with the soft goods. Ill be getting a Singer sewing machine tomorrow, and it will be my first sewing machine purchase. I’ve never done it before, so I am nervous, but excited to get to work on making the adjustments to my soft goods. Wish me luck. I pray I don’t sew my fingers together.

I managed to pop the tank greeblie off. Sanded it, and working on gluing it down right now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
It may be overkill in my opinion. I used a small drill bit and drilled a bunch of holes around the area that needed to come out. After, I used an X-Acto knife to cut along the holes and remove the middle. I went back and filed and sanded the edges to smooth them out.

Thank you Chopper. I will try to address these issues as soon as I can and send out some new photos. -
Great job. I was thinking of taking the plunge and getting a 3D printer too.

Ryi'nocks Biker Scout WIP [Approval Ready?]

I know here in the U.S., Wampa Wear makes a nice set of Scout gloves. You will just have to use scissors to remove the clips that come attached to them. It looks like you are well on your way to becoming a Scout. -

Also, you shouldn't have to use heat on the lens once this clip is in place. It is like a little piece of magic. Make sure the longer end of the clip is facing towards you inside the helmet. It is kind of hard to see in that picture. -

If you don't have instructions for the helmet, email Jeff and he'll send you some. That's what I had to do. -

Is it a Studio Creations helmet? He should have given you a clip that you glue on the bridge of the inside of the snout. It should hold it in place well enough to apply whatever it is that you are going to use hold it in place. Heres an early photo of the lens as I was installing it. Also, the way the clip is made, the lens perfectly contours with the opening so you shouldn't need much to hold it down. -
Hello. I am a member of the Central California Garrison. We have a member that lives in Fairfield, which is part of Solano County, and he is in our Garrison. He does do a lot of troops in the Sacramento area. Since you are so close to areas of both Garrisons, I guess it would boil down to where you'd rather travel to the most. I know some members in the Golden Gate Garrison, and they are really cool. You'd be very welcomed at either Garrison, whichever you ultimately choose.

Well, today I made some final adjustments and sent in submission photos to become a Pathfinder. I want to thank all that have chimed in on this thread, especially, @BikerScout007 and @Chopper. But everybody on these boards are so helpful. I appreciate everything that anyone has done in the way of giving links to supplies, offering tips to complete an obstacle, and giving support on this journey. Pathfinders Lead the Way!!!! -
