  1. Planning on 3d printing. but yeah I almost did the same on my first swamp trooper troop lol.
  2. Lol, no, $5 aint bad at all haha. Ill reach out to him! thanks!
  3. Hey all! Ok so I am currently working on a Shoretrooper build but got such a strange itch for the biker scout, but thats because I used to have a Swamp Trooper, and sold it a while back. Now that I have gotten to where I want that Trooper back, I decided that I would go at a 2 for 1. Being that a few things are used for the Biker and Swamp Trooper, I decided to work both at the same time. It will be easier to do both at the same time and I have been sitting on a WTF kit for some time. The helmet is trash so I will be 3d printing both from CTPG (Chris the Prop Guy) and will need to print the back/tank piece as I royally messed up the tank part of the WTF kit, but thats ok. Studio Creations was my go to for my first scout and it was a perfect kit. For reference, I am a bigger guy at 6'1" and around 215. That kit fit me really well. But now I have been 3d printing for several years and love the savings. I find the sanding and prep work to be fun and therapeutic, so thats not the issue. I am planning on doing my own soft goods as this group has such an awesome pull of others that have done it and documented their process for us. I really hope this goes well as I am still very new at sewing, though I bought my sewing machine back in 2019 when i built my first Swamp trooper, to do the boots. I do have a question for those that printed, any thing to watch for? any tips are greatly appreciated. Also, I want to print both the Holdout and the DLT 19 (the DLT is for the Swamp trooper) and if you know of good files, preferably on the free 99 side of things, lol, I would appreciate a point in the right direction. Thanks yall! Kit: WTF (everything but the back and tank) Helmet: CTPG Softgoods: made in house, flightsuit is a redkap Boots: Made in house Pictures of everything will be posted as it comes in.
  4. Its a 3d file from CTPG. I have a way to make decals so might just have to model them myself Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  5. And I was literally just there for the screws...Sorry i have a lot of projects going on. and I just did the one thing I hate for people to do and thats ask a question when the answer is in a very obvious place lol. Thanks for having my back though.
  6. I didnt even think to check there. sorry. But thank you for reminding me
  7. I have looked but cant seem to find them. Does anyone have the files for the helmet decals? Like if I am able to make decals and just need those files, are they out there somewhere?
  8. Have done a life size B1 battle droid lol, its nothing new. And have generally been making helmets since I started Printing. I love it. I will say i think the Abs section might make me cry though
  9. Its not that bad lol. I like it and its therapeutic Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
  10. OK, Got the helmet fixed. Also got the blast shield printed but forgot to snap a pic
  11. Ok so, I got the back together but hadnt posted a full picture and wanted to do that for documentation purposes. The Helmet had a hiccup that I havent had in a while but have the rest of it on the printer now. Also got most of the belt parts done and hoping to get them in resin tomorrow. Ordered my belt closure from Imperial Issue and ordered just about everything I really needed from Mr. Paul. Got my back greebles, straps for chest and shins, and "Hose Fitting" Greebles. Hoping to get the helmet prepped for paint tomorrow.
  12. If you look at those threads there it is stated what the thickness. I want to say the foam itself was 6mm? and the thickness of the abs was like a yard sale sign. I dont think there is a requirement for them as its not state on the CRL or even for higher levels. I printed the most recent one I think and it came out pretty good. Might make the connection tabs a tad longer for some wiggle room.
  13. Yeah this is where I was planning on going depending on Mr. Pauls prices and availability. I am also wondering, since I am also planning a Tank Trooper, if i should get two, or just use the same one for both suits? Might get two just so i dont have to stress about making sure there is one with the kit I am gonna troop. Also, my hope is that this weekend I will have my chest, back, and Abs ready for paint prep. I will be putting fiberglass on the inside seams, and fiberglass resin on the outside of the parts to sand smooth and paint.
  14. I asked him. He said he was gonna check but he thinks he is out of stock. I am waiting for his response then will look elsewhere if he doesnt have them
  15. I know there is one person (Imperial Issue) that does, and i need to track him down again, but does anyone have a lead on the metal belt part for the back. has the 2 slots in it? I am going to make my belt myself and just need that metal piece
  16. Got the stencil for the Hips armor printed out. Waiting on foam to get here to make the actual part. I believe that they are sized properly for the abs.
  17. Ok. It looks right I just wasnt too sure. But ill play around with it from here. I gives me a perfect starting point anyways. thank yall for doing these. its a big help
  18. Ok so it printed out over 10 pages. does that sound right?
  19. Just placed my order with Mr. Paul for straps and Greebles
  20. "KitKat" I love that! yes thats what i was talking about. Thank you!
  21. I have a question with Chest overlap of the Abs part. Is it ok if the middle upper detail is fully exposed on the ab part? so the section that has two bars that sits just about the center detail with the ridges. If that is fully exposed is that acceptable? Most Troopers I have seen have it half covered, but I have also seen a few that show all of it. Just wondering what the Detachment wants to see
  22. I think you are getting hung up on the word Accurate. The word Accurate and Approvable are not one and the same and are not interchangeable. Accurate comes into play when you get into the higher levels of acceptance within the detachment. Frist level of approval is for acceptability. Does the Detachment accept something as what it is portrayed to be, yes...but if you want screen matched, then that is accurate. Its the same with all costumes, but you first have to answer the question of what do you want your build to be. if you want complete accuracy, then go with the high dollar and widely accepted items that are extremely screen accurate. but if you dont mind having slight details, those that most wont notice unless in a full on break down in a Lancer submission, and are happy that everything "accepts" you as a Shoretrooper, then having those slight variations within the Sean Fields Files will be ok for you. I guess my point is to touch on the fact that just because something isnt 100% accurate doesnt mean it isnt acceptable. If that was the case all CRL standards would be set for what is currently level 2/3 stuff and you wouldnt have an option at all. Seans helmet is accurate, just not AS accurate as others. maybe that is what should be stated? Just my two cents. I love these type of discussions.
  23. Im gonna ask a really dumb question, but do i just go to the link and hit print? or is there something else I need to do when printing this out to make sure I get what i need. when i go to print it says its just 1 page and that makes no sense. Any help would be great!
