Doh.. I clearly needed to keep eyes peeled more after seeing all these walt mentions today - a day after I bit the bullet on buynow.

Move along, nothing to see here Another WIP Place holder. Have read a few of the tutorial and other individual parts threads but find cross-information and the gap between the CRL updates confusing, So will use this as a progress and deeper questions location as needed outside the ask-an-armourer Bucket: Altmann (arrived!) GLoves: Wampa (arrived) Balaclava: Ebay Suit: Amazon - RedKap CT-10 (Done!) Boots: DIY - Done1 Armour: SC (arrived)! Bund: DIY (Done!) Proving to be harder to find parts.. Pig Suede locally

If you haven't already I would suggest start a WIP/Build thread and keep referring to and editing/updating?. Getting a bit confusing to decipher the questions and WIP stages posted on all the numerous individual part threads

Looks like one of the aussie lads. He uses the decals and real transister on the side. His name beats me at this time...

Lookout. Ninjas about I felt the same when my overalls arrived! But to this day I have no hard-parts other than a bucket on the way Hrm, yet to see slip-on boots locally. We have all the lumpy laced ones you normally see.

His stealth anti cameltoe hack? Yeah liked that myself

Your overalls are at the same stage as me. Pile of pockets is familiar after the weekend. Except I removed the collar completely, and will throw in a pocket extension and stick it back on at a better height rather than try and mod while on - wasn't stuck on very straight in mexico anyway if I'm honest. Await to see your success in requirement or taking legs/arms in You guys are lucky with your 'duck cloth' selection. Here it comes in ever colour, as long as its tan/sacking. Instead I opted for white Cotton drill, very similar makeup and unless closely inspected hopefully passable. And thick calico (more canvas looking) for the pocketing material as will dye up differently to drill. Whats your intention for the cod/bund. I see a number of people opting for 1-piece or 2-piece but interested in the various method outcomes (velcro v dome)

I too was shopping for it today. 2 boutique stores stocked patches big enough. But not at $120 and $230NZD thanks! Time to hit aliexpress

Is taking them in just an advantage of less bulk sagging/baggyness when the hard parts straps are on? Being 6'3 and reasonably trim the tall editions I got don't appear to look to bad as-is. Almost suit like (and damn hot in 26deg C weather!)
-
I can confirm my above Amazon link ended in some black CT-10s And going 2" larger than my chest and asking for tall model worked a treat (still a fraction short for my liking but full motion available) Pockets removed, Next stop the other required mods. Whats the consensus on the collar height. 1"?. I'm obviously going to need to fold down and modify mine as the standard CT10 collar is very wide when stood up.
-
Indeed. I took heed of such notes earlier. I'm 9.8-10" actual, which is borderline so I've gone for the hopefully larger 10.5 XLs
-
That'd be why I hit order But alas.
-
I'm waiting on XLs also which are a few weeks away.
-
Good find. That collar is half way to the end result already! :/ If only NZ wasn't so safety conscious we may have similar

I forget how much they look like a nappy exposed Polyester flat fill in the bund to let you get the ribbing I take it? I'm yet to look into the material type local and how much is required. Figured I'd wait for the base overalls first before seeing if the plan will continue.
-
If you wan't to remain fussy. You can line the edge with a crayon or coloured chalk and place it on, it will indicate where it is impacting and with any luck rub off the edge where trimming/more sanading is required But looking, its possibly wanting to be dropped down ever so slightly more. But then again, I've only ordered gloves and overalls so far, so don't listen to me

Ta for input lads. Eagerly await mr China knockoff to post it. (up to 7 day process.. what the) Was just to clarify if openish was still OK. Which it is
-
Shall keep it in mind Dart The seam down the middle had crossed my mind. Have nabbed 2 of the elcheapo in the first link with seams off to the sides. Can only but bin em if no good and source another. Armour and lid are a way off, (pending a thread I'm watching here...) But Wampas and RedKaps got a similar eta of about Dec1 along with the balaclavas. At least I can get UA locally if need be quicky (even know the local rep it seems)
-
Damn, Not the answer I was hoping for lol. $7local with free ship vs about $40 Im looking at the cheapo with the ear vents as a similar design to the UA so I have to wonder if they'll come down too. What the heck, it's the price of a burger (and can double as a bike one if fail)

They say no question is a stupid question when learning is involved.. I see the pinned post uses the nice cooling underarmour example for a guide. However have seen the odd TB (may have been pre CRL update) with the open-face type that leave the nose exposed (yay for real breathing!) and possibly some of the mouth. Is the eye-opening only the new norm or these nose exposing still OK? My man-look search didn't seem to trump many visual examples :/ Looking on old Aliexpress there appears to be a tonne of cheapo made from the same gear as my cycling shirts which may suit and are cheap enough to bring in a few examples to try. Aliexpress Example 1 This one even has earbud cable holes Cheapo Lycra example And then the open face
