  1. Appears to be an off the shelf (webbed strap already) unit locally here.. albeit possibly a little more military green/olive than khaki. I forsee their sales increasing A shame a plush version of object to go in one isn't available here until at least July! https://www.armyandoutdoors.co.nz/products/british-canvas-shoulder-bag?_pos=9&_sid=1fedea0dc&_ss=r Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
  2. It has the standard rear bracket at the top and some squares behind for the bottom. I think the rivets I got are too awesome and strained it (needed artificial spacer) Mixed with some calis tks smacking into me (and forgetting a wide birth so clip things) appears to have maybe aggrevated Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  3. Well that's not what I wanted to discover before shipping off on a plane for a weekend event! Looks like even after only a few events the strain the rivets put on the ABS has taken its toll on 3 of them
  4. What do we have here.. (Yep, a ghost) http://501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=16551&costumeID=6
  5. I *really* should have sorted that method BEFORE riveting it A smearing of glue and hope for the best it is
  6. Was hoping to avoid that in fear of my vest material being stretched to high heaven. But I guess it needs to happen :/ Now I'm also suffering a bit of belt webbing stretch where the rivet holds. My brace across it not doing what I intended. Does everyone lay glue under the exiting point of the webbing to take the strain, or a point behind the rivet ala hidden by the belt boxing
  7. Ta. Is in GMLs hands now. Have you heard of anyone adding slight darting to bund/vests Due to my odd shape I'm having issies with the upper half of the bund. I either need to instate some strapping through the vest to hold it up add some darts under the arms to make it a little more shape fitting Take the total width in and hope it can be tightened and not change the shape of the rear closure
  8. Wampas run small/tight. Aim to go a size higher if you are on the upper end of the scale. L was meant to be to 10" from memory, I was around 9.3. Had I gone with that, It'd be a tight fit.
  9. Why is it AFTER you get undressed to check the photos you realise that your arm plates rolled back when putting the helmet on for the last in the series..
  10. I have a suspicion it's the top edge under the arm at fault rather than the lowers. But not re-suited up to check what aligns up with the bite point (that comes when pre-approvals are taken ) I see the screencaps all have an epic one on the lowers, but I fear I would make a mess of any return edge. The best thing we have here is a clothes iron, and I'm a danger with power tools. Even domesticated ones. Ill try a small diameter top corner for a start, or at least strenghten it and smooth off with some more sanding
  11. Just double checking before I do so, I've not seen any recent-ish defined 'no you cant' post re prepping back/front plates as yet so asking directly I did a 3hr stint on the weekend to test the kit out and found my back had some pretty good bite (saved by the vest and overalls!) that has worn the vest material to a shine due to the right angle cornering. Too much more it will eat through in no time Am I all good to ala-panda the back edges where strapping exits - a little bit without getting hit up about it once too late
  12. So from shifting my reference materials as to what is right/wrong from the Lancer deployment thread, moving to the 'pre approval' is even more daunting! How is that lol! Individual parts as follows. I *Hope* i've made i to near lancer spec minus the sole notching. Everything else should be in check (bar some minor visible flaws to me).. I think. I may need a bodyguard while I try smooth things over with the closely related assisting taylor and helping hands if I tell them I need to change too much :/ Now watch me noob out and make these not visible.. (wearing ones to follow when I get some help and head to that scary pre thread) Tape is marking guide where I need to work something to suspend the Bund near as my shapely gut and less so top, lets it compress down slightly May goto some strapping under the vest that poke out a buttonhole. Looking at others solutions... Went novel attachment here. Sewn under V, velcro double side and slots between the bund flaps well held and adjustable Of course the famous out of the box.. No lancer clips as yet. And some hidden ties while I decide the best mount
  13. Then all of a sudden.. 2300hrs local. So Forgot the balaclava and vest. But are done. Belt is held at the edges by tape, rest is in place. Boots drying while I ponder doing the holster corners as Celebration live stream is distracting me
  14. I'm down under. Redkap direct from Amazon from Mexico was about $50nz. Not bad at all Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  15. 45mm at the middle. Guessing 55-60 would be better Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  16. So after a severe upset and frustration emotional roadblock, I've moved forward some more. My bridge is a bit thin I'm guessing? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  17. Not at that pre approval stage yet. Still no boots or belt completed. Or worked on in 2 months really Riding patch mock for leather.yes/no? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  18. Both. The vinyl appears less maliable than your own. And each time I tacked the pins into the boot top they pulled out, under neath was the only way to get em to stick in and stay in. Too late now, but I taped my seams down (I folded and sewed) and used a bit of talcum powder to let it slide on the foot etc I have the leg bits done, just still not progressed the boots. Contemplating throwing the towel in and starting with the Kmart real leather ones and ordering some of that suede. I have enough for thighs but not rear flap as it stands
  19. Did you velcro to the back of the boxing just for adjustment and sizing sake? Im considering gluing mine to the similar position to take the strain off the riveted area. Also nowhere near as curved as your belt (and of course we are all differently sized) so not sure it looks right extending suddenly from where I intend to rivet
  20. OK, I used a grey sticker for my frontal armour before noticing there was one in the envelope - no issues there that I can tell. my topper is also got the red line and the white dot added. I used a laser level for my striping on the back. Crazy fussy like so they are visibly straight but follow a strange curve to get that way on the actual surface Will pic later. Used the same endcap trick on my TD. And yep, my tubing is like your vacume cleaner was! Might have a mixture of kits he throws together rather than ensuring all up to date Re T strips - yep. I used velcro on the under (where the armour sticks to) and the shoulder strap itself is elastic means the shoulders have more play and can move with me rather than be limited by thick plastic that is velcro I've even seen webbing used. Seems to be no rule, as long as it sits right. Also suffered the melting issue with the heating to match pandas belt. Hopefully the now non-flat surfaces are bonded ok with the E6000. Its meant to be good for 2mm. Time will tell... Still not revisited my boots. Which is the major hold atm. But am messing with riding patch sizing myself. I printed the pattern A3. Width is almost spot on, but the length is past my knee. With some adjustments I hope to flare the front edge a bit more and shorten
  21. Dang. I envy those boots. I've still not touched mine since throwing the toys for Armageddon Just can't get the toe area to play nice Might have to bite bullet and get Kmart ones as well So belt, unfinished. Not cut the webbing for drop boxes. Probably have to re-do my bund (too much overlap on velcro now!) and boots. And vest. Couple of reasonable troops I could target. But the failure to meet prior deadline has taken a toll.
  22. And I'm being left behind again Either I've lost weight (well go with that) or miscalculated somewhere. My bund now overlaps too much and wont close. So back to the drawing board. And still perplexed by drop box length until I've got the placement of everything else sorted to finally cut and make the belt webbing I must have got the wrong vinyl from spotlight. Damned if I can get much stretch out of it to sit nicely
  23. Watch the guides vs the CRL... the use of elastic differs to the included instructions. And someone will correct me, but not sure youll get away with the buttons/snaps showing on the overalls. Hrm, mixed bag again. I didn't need to paint my tubing, was already grey. but that looks near white.
  24. You cheeky devil I got stung, and it was even during christmas
  25. Heh.. Uhhmmm think the covering clothes arent going to impact too much on my belt circumference Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
