  1. Just updating this thread. I starting marking out and cutting the pieces.. I just wanted to make sure these are looking ok. The flap has two pieces. When I am done the box should be 5X6X2.5
  2. All I have left to do is sew in the 6 lines in the middle. Just wanted to double check size and position of my pouch.
  3. So it literally is a white cotton "ish" cummerbund. Just hiked up below the pits and not around the abdomen...
  4. I just did a down and dirty change to my old bund. (Just folded about 5 inches under ) I know it's kind hard to tell in "civies" the belt is just under the bund, dead centered on my naval.
  5. *Ding light bulb goes off* OK that answers a few questions then. I always thought the bottom edge of the belt and the bottom edge of the bund were even.. I.E. the belt is wrapped around the bund.. So its not, the bund stops then the belt starts.... That's why people have told me it looked a little long. I just held my belt up to my waist and had the wife do a quick measurement and she got about 8.25". I think if I round up to 8.5 that should be fine... THANKS everybody....
  6. Yea. I am going to do some sort of shaping when I do my COD. So then two other questions then. Does the entire bund have batting? or just the middle. Second, does the entire belt sit on the very bottom of the bund, half on half on or just under?
  7. That cod is not going to be used. I am making a second piece that will be attached to my flak vest.
  8. I just measured it and it is 13 1/4" tall. So yea a little on the tall side.. So I think when I make the new one. I will take 3" off..
  9. As soon as I get my flak vest from Max's sci-fi shop. I want to start working on the cummerbund. (I have to see how big the flak vest will be on me, to see if the cummerbund will go over or under the vest, so I know where to put the Velcro. These are just a few pictures of my old, old, old, did I mention old cummerbund. So please ignore the black velcro. ( I had it on inside out anyway LOL) Also ignore the stripes I know it's the wrong number. (hence the upgrade.) From trying it on it looks like I can hike it up just to the nipple line and it stop right at the bottom of my naval. I think height wise I am good. Also concerning the "batting" does the whole thing have batting, but a little bit more for the stripes or just batting in the stripes. Thank you for your help. Thought and constructive crit ALWAYS welcome.
  10. I just ordered my vest from Max's. I don't think. (at least hope it will take that long LOL). He told me I could get it right before Celebration. If not, right after...
  11. Is the tank or "hump" permanently attached to the back armor? I like to hide my MP 3 player and small speaker back there for my TB loop. But if it's supposed to be permanent, I need to change my rig up a little.
  12. Thanks.. I will have to take my sander to it tomorrow. *fixed the link*
  13. it's all Rust-oleum paint. A coat of primer, Where it's all black I did a coat of metallic silver, then Matt Black on top, The silver Cylinder has a coat of black with the silver on top.
  14. Here is my finished carbine/sniper.
  15. I have worn it this way for years... It needs to be trimmed doesn't it...
  16. I put finished in quotes because we all know a costume is never really finished. I got home from work. I had a nice surprise waiting for me. My mother in law finished making all the mods to my Redkap coveralls. Pockets removed, correct collar, suede butt flap slash pockets sewn shut. elastic around legs attached. riding patches applied. Comments and constructive crit always welcome. I know the riding patches do not sit enough forward. I didn't have the heart to tell her they are not in the right spot. But I think for updated 501st standards they will suffice for now. I have plenty of suede left if I want to try again later .
  17. So I have started the soft parts. (mother in law is helping with the sewing part) When I cut the riding patches they actually do not look that large... is this typical?
  18. I have been using my Hasbro blaster for a few years. But now I want to use something that would be eligible for Lancer status.. Thoughts on any of these? https://www.etsy.com/listing/503863410/star-wars-ec-17-scout-blaster-replica?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout%20blaster&ref=sr_gallery_2 https://www.etsy.com/listing/269485790/ec-17-hold-out-blaster-scout-trooper?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout%20blaster&ref=sr_gallery_3 https://www.etsy.com/listing/502995447/biker-scout-style-blaster-fan-made?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout%20blaster&ref=sr_gallery_5 https://www.etsy.com/listing/498876416/star-wars-scout-trooper-hold-out-blaster?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout%20blaster&ref=sr_gallery_6 https://www.etsy.com/listing/237482480/3d-printed-biker-scout-trooper-blaster?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=scout%20blaster&ref=sr_gallery_7
  19. Totally my fault I should have been a bit more clear. I meant the ends of the belt to complete the loop. Some people use just Velcro and some people use the black clips that "click" together. (like what you would see on a nylon police belt)
  20. I have been reading several threads, and have noticed some people just use Velcro for the 2" wide nylon webbing and some people use a black parachute clip. (Jo-ann's name not mine). What is the general consensus? Or is it really personal preference?
  21. Yea. I have seen the video. Really cool looking
  22. Hello troopers. While I wait for costume pieces to arrive. I had an idea for a custom carbine/sniper I could use for non official events... I just wanted to share some in progress pictures. I don't have access to the cool toys or gear to create things from scratch, so I have to repurpose things I can get my hands on. (In other words this is another Nerf mod LOL) The gun is the new Nerf Alphahawk, this thing just screams sniper. The scope is just a 7.00 scope from Walmart. I just installed a piece of 3/4" PVC I just loosened the screws on the frame put the PVC in and tightened the screws. It clamps down on the PVC perfectly. I added a coupler on the end to act as a flash suppressor. It makes a decent carbine. With the coupler I can add the extension and it makes a pretty cool looking sniper rifle. Now it just needs to be painted... Thoughts, Constructive crit.
  23. I am just throwing together a custom Nerf blaster for my Scout. Nothing official at all...
  24. From what I can gather when it comes to colors for SW blasters. It's generally all black. No high lights of silver or gray, No wood grain. (I know there are a couple of exceptions to that). Is this the general consensus?
