Scout Trooper-- Costume Questions, Term definition
TB-1599 replied to Imperial Speedster's topic in Getting Started
Lancers are the "best of the best" When it comes to accuracy. They meet the level 2 requirements according to the 501st CRL -
Worked on the shoulder bells Here is how I decided to connect them. Worked on my chin cup. Does the strap go on the outside of the cup like this? Or on the inside like this? Finished my belt. Started working on my drop boxes. How is the length? Finally, worked on some of my custom mods for my scout sniper. The hump is an old one. (so no freaking out LOL) Almost there!!! Comments and constructive crit always welcome...

*updated* Finally have the correct "bolts"
TB-1599 replied to TB-1599's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Got the correct 3M bolts in the mail today from a fellow scout. I instantly cut the bolt off sanded it down and glued them to my bucket. One step closer.... -
Ok I got to have a big sigh of relief. I was able to sit down and with a small pair of scissors and a x-acto knife pulled every stitch out. Then I just used a wet wash cloth and rubbed the area down (giggity) That removed all the holes, so I can give it another shot. I re drew the lines but this time I used a blue fabric pencil. I just wanted to double check the spacing and straightness. Comment and constructive crit.

Studio Creations typical wait times?

Well the belt and TD shouldn't be a problem since they are both coming from the same batch and are both a good distance from any other plastic. The one good thing is I didn't troop as much as I could have, so my armor stayed in storage a majority of the time. BUT the hump and back plate might be an issue then LOL. They actually are waiting for me on my door step as I type this. So I will tear into it when I get home... If push comes to shove. I can just weather it. -
First I want to thank everybody for their patience. I know I have started a lot of threads asking different questions. I am just trying to get everything done in one shot.. Soft armor wise. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. So I am almost there. The next part I am working on is the cod. (doing a 2 part cod and bund) The sides that angle down from the belt down to the groin area. Is this a straight edge or is there a slight curve to it. I feel like I am seeing both in different pictures.. Is there a more preferred look? (especially for Lancer)

Yea that's what I figured I would have to do. As much as I would like to use the actual bolts, I think it will be more trouble than it's worth. -

Thanks. Its gonna be interesting because the face mask is actually riveted (sp). So I will have to drill them out first. -

I already have them ordered Now I just have to figure out how to install them once I get them... Already spoke with DVH. Will be getting one with my Hold Out blaster in May. -
It turns out it was actually a Kropserkel. So now that I know this LOL. Any known issues I need to know about? Also I took a picture of the "bolt covers" I know they have to be concave for lancer status. Will these work?

My armor pieces arrive tomorrow so we shall see.. Even though I don't really like to weather. (hey I like the MISB look what can I say LOL) It may have to be an option...

They also have great customer service.. I just ordered some replacement parts about 2 weeks ago and they are already shipped. I just hope they color match to the armor I have had for a while...

Public Shout Out to Studio Creations.. My replacement armor pieces are in the mail. Even though I sent several emails (almost confused my self). he got everything I asked for...Cant wait to get it. 5 ways of awesome!!! I just had a thought though. What are the chances of all plastic having the same color compared to my armor that's 10 years old. -
Since I am getting some replacement parts fot my scout. I decided to repurpose my old parts into a custom scout/sniper configuration. The first thing I am doing is making a magnetic sling for my custom carbine/sniper rifle. I am using 4 cabinet magnets each has a 16 lb pull. Here are the 4 plates attached to the rifle I used an aluminum finger splint to make a frame for the magnets and some washers to give the correct distance from the access ports for the plates. Holes will be drilled into the side of my old tank, the plates will drop inside the holes and connect with the magnets. Because the magnets drop into the holes. It will prevent the rifle from sliding off. You have to physically pull the rifle off. These are a couple of proof of concepts mock ups. I just used a spare piece of ABS I also have a video of the rig being moved around and shook but its not uploaded yet.. Once I get my new tank, I can finish this short project.. Comments and constructive crit always welcome.
