I think I found the best wire for the TD tube
Lucasfan7 replied to FoxTrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
is there special times that you choose to wear it or is it always the tube? -

Ok, that answer means a lot. I will probably buy new parts for a TD and do a wire wrapped one later. It looks like a pretty easy build and I definitely want the accuracy. -

that’s good to know, thank you. so do you personally rock your wire wrapped when you troop? -

That’s exactly what I wanted to know, thanks. Do you think it will be a lancer requirement one day? -

This is slightly off topic but is there a significant weight difference in the wire wrapped TD’s con paired to the ribbed tubes? -
I absolutely love this method, I’m going to troop mine for a few events and see how I like it but might switch to this idea. Super clean looking, great job man

Thanks for that run down. A lot of knowledge in there. I have pretty much always used the Akers mics. They have done me well, so if this mic is better than that then I will use it but if not then I have no problem using the aker mic. Plus it’s black, so it fits my color scheme better[emoji23][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Flexing hard with those husky cases bro[emoji41][emoji106], I’m a little jealous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

This is very interesting, I have always had feed back issues in my costumes but it was because I would hang my ackers around my neck from a lanyard and I believe they were too close to my mic when talking. I never knew the real reason why the feedback though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I haven’t done much this week because i have been out of town for work, but I did bring my sewing stuff and sticky Velcro so I can get a few more small pieces done. My dad had a saying, “by the inch it’s a cinch, by the yard it’s hard”, that’s what I keep thinking during this build because I have done little chunks at a time and I’m almost out of stuff to do. I think I just have to attach the shoulders to the armor once I get home tomorrow and then this weekend I’m probably going to bust out the air brush and start getting an idea on spray patterns for the weathering. I’m going to use ginos scout for inspiration because his is my hands down favorite weather job on any scout.

That looks awesome, kinda making me wish I tried my hand at sewing my soft goods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You got this, just remember that the sense of pride that you get from building your own kit is amazing. It’s hard now but you will feel like you really earned it in the end. Just take it slow and enjoy it. Rushing creates stress and always causes mess ups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thanks brotha, I’m almost done on my end, it will then be a waiting game for the helmet from RS, the soft goods from Kroptontop and the boots from crow props. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I got the rank decals on and I couldn’t be more happy. Also got the thermal det finished. Thanks to joe for suggesting E6000 on securing the end caps, it might have taken a day for each side to dry but worked like a dream and I couldn’t be happier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

That looks awesome, very well thought out and I can tell you thought outside the box for sure. I specifically like how your shoulder bridge strap is attached to Velcro and it loops around like that. Thanks for sharing this with me, I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Got everything glued down and it’s finally looking like a complete item. I’m going to add the shoulder bells today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I got a lot of respect for anyone who sews their own soft goods, I’m way too lazy for that.[emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Gave my wife the measurements of the stripes and she came up with awesome looking decals for the tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Got the thermal detonator almost done being glued. Kind of a sketchy way to do it but it’s working, lol. The front part of the shoulder straps are glued as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
