This is awesome guys, thanks again

Great job on making this fit you, the progress is coming along nicely
-
Ok cool, I will do my best to hide it. Probably paint it white
-
I checked mine and I only have the magnet in the nose of it. The handle would be convenient though, that’s where I had my last one at and it worked really well. If I put it on the inside of my holster instead of beneath the plastic would it still pass lancer. You would only be able to see it if you looked down into the holster when the blaster is out.

Personal opinions IB or CP boots
Lucasfan7 replied to Lucasfan7's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Thanks for making these Gio, I’m sure they will become a go to boot for makers. -
Yeah that’s how I had my old one cause I have a magnet where the pressure pad is in the handle, but The DV blaster has the magnet casted In right indent the barrel, so I’m not sure how that would work
-
My EC is one of Darth vorhees blasters so it is casted Into the front of the blaster right under the barrel
-
Quick question- I got my EC-17 in and I wanted to attach the magnet to the Inside of the holster. Having the magnet showing inside the holster won’t prevent it from getting Lancer approval will it? Or is there a way to attach the magnet so it doesn’t show?

Thanks for all the attention to detail and caring enough to do all this for the scout. It shows that this detachment cares and has the history and screen imagery down, well done.

Yeah these guys know what they are talking about. SC armor is really easy and quality, not to mention it’s extremely affordable. For soft goods, there are so many options, I went with chefs creations for my vest and flight suit, cheesewhoopie for the cummerbund and crow props for the boots (I do plan to check out the Imperial boots new scout boots though cause I had to put a lot of work Into my crow props in order for my OCD to be happy), there is also a butt ton of people on this detachment that make amazing boots so check out the sales thread. Hope this helps.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing that story, it’s inspiring that you care so much about the visual look of your costume though you are visually impaired. It pushes me to care more and strive to have my build meet the same standards

Yeah I can second and third what everyone else is saying for the most part. I originally had a version 1 SC kit and now have the second one and the second version on the SC kit is smaller besides the shoulders I believe and biceps, those are larger for some reason. The rest of the parts I feel are either smaller or the same size. The SC helmet has to be a few sizes small compared to other makers so that might be a good option. SC has always treated me well with great customer service but I believe WTF makes an 80% kit that is scaled down for smaller adults and kids. Not sure if that is even approvable or something that you would be Interested in. Hope everything works out.

Ok cool, I thought you were holding out on me:) lol
-
Thanks for this, it’s my first time seeing it.
-
Ok cool, thank you. I believe I read that WIP when going through them a few months back. It sounds familiar

Ok cool, yeah I was wondering why my butt flap felt so weird. I think it might be a bit too wide but I will save that for last like you said and modify it if you guys say so once I do my final suit up. that spot showing through on my collar is my skin behind it. There is a little opening under the collar where you can see through. I was hoping my balaclava will hide it unless you have any other suggestions? I will do my best to position my chest and back plate so that the straps and shoulder bells fall in line. Thanks for the heads up on these pieces. I will get to work. Hopefully the rest comes in soon.

Pre-Production Scout Armor Kit Interest
Lucasfan7 replied to MrPoopie's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
This is awesome, though I’m not sure I would ever use it so I will just be a spectator on this one. Would love to see you guys do it though -
So I did a rough suit up with what I have and this was the best I could make it look, please let me know everything I can improve. My wife tucked the sleeves of the flak vest about one inch, we did our best to make the legs look less baggy. I realized with all the armor on the suit makes it look overall baggy so we bunched it in the back a lot, it needs to be taken in so my wife is going to help me out with that. The vest also needs to be taken up in the abdomen area so that it will be completely covered by the cummerbund. The shoulder armor is also just resting on the vest and does not have anything holding it down besides the zip ties. You can see from the close up shot from the back that there is a lot of bunching. -Our notes so far- -Hem the vest sleeves by one inch to look as they do in the picture (sleeves are already tucked 1” in the pictures) -Add elastic stirrups to the pant legs to hold them tight. -Take the Suit in 1” at a time until we achieve the look of the CRL model. -Add strapping to shoulder bells -Hem the flak vest in the abdomen area so that it is high enough to be covered by the cummerbund. Thanks brother, that means a lot.

Well I got the boots all put back together and the bone is glued down. I forget who suggested the Barge cement but thank you, it is amazing stuff. It’s probably going to be all I use on soft goods from now on. I love the new look of the boots, they fit and look more tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

So I got the holster put on the boot and it’s surprising stiff, it holds up pretty well all by itself. I have and old Darth Vorhees blaster in it so there is a bit of weight to it. I also cut 3/4 of an inch of plastic off the bottom portion of the holster so that it will hopefully have a closer shape to the originals. Next I glue down the bone area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I second what chopper said, I messaged Jeff and asked if I could return my helmet and he was super helpful with awesome customer service.

Biker Scout build (current progress)
Lucasfan7 replied to Boy Scout of Endor's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Welcome to the community, you chose and awesome costume . Take your time on the build and just enjoy it. It makes it so much better without the stress of rushing through it. I ended up downloading Tapatalk and then paid for it for a year, it sucks paying but it makes posting pics really easy, I’m lazy so it was worth it. -
Thanks brother, I really appreciate it. It’s kind of a busy week but I will get some pics on here in armor by the end of the week. No helmet or cummerbund yet but at least I can get my layout of everything down out side of those items.
-
Awesome, ok cool. I will keep an eye on that once the cummerbund comes in.
