  1. Hi Florian! RS has a great tutorial on their helmet that might help you with your helmet kit. Give this playlist a review and hopefully it'll help you while you wait for your new helmet to come in. Looking forward to seeing you approved and out there trooping!
  2. Hi Kirsten! Your chest/back armor is looking to be in the proper position. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll have a vest and part of the cummerbund under them so make sure you don't trim it just to fit over your flightsuit. I agree that your shoulder bells will need to be trimmed to fit you and that will help shift the biceps higher on your arm. When you trim be sure to take it in small increments checking the fit as you go along. It's easy to remove material but very hard to put it back if you go too far with a cut. Your trim lines are looking about right to start with. @M.J @KOtrooper I'd like to get your assessment as well. I think you're doing a great job so far so keep up the great work and please let us know if you need anything!
  3. Excellent looking armor! Keep in mind that since your pouches are off-while that you may have to tint your drop box straps off-white per the CRL. You can easily stain them using a tea solution. Might be a good idea to check with your GML regarding acceptance. Keep up the great work!!
  4. Buckets off. Rest well trooper. Condolences to his family and Garrison mates who will miss him.
  5. @Jakeputt Can you help this trooper with his question? Thanks!
  6. Congrats Pathfinder! Well done!
  7. Don't use pliers unless they are smooth jaw. If you do that you could impress the jaw marks into the plastic. Since you're heating the ABS you have to be careful not to burn yourself. Safety first so use something that won't give you a burn.
  8. I don't think you'll need new chest back armor. I just think it was in the heat a bit too long. Open the shoulder and side and you should fit into it. You can clean it up a bit using the heat gun but tread carefully with it only going a little at a time and reform the ABS. Use tape to connect your shoulder bridges to get an idea of where they should connect and then you can trim and fit from there. Again, go slowly and methodically till you achieve where the armor should sit.
  9. The cod is looking good. Your pouches are way too far "outboard" and need to be brought in closer to the edges of your bund ribs. Check the CRL model for positioning those at the best.
  10. Give this thread a read through. I have Velcro on the back of my vest where the strap connects to under my bund.
  11. Rest well trooper.....buckets off
  12. I have been waiting to say this....Congratulations PATHFINDER!! What a magnificent journey my friend and you should be proud of yourself for all you've accomplished! Now it's time to suit up and go make some smiles!
  13. Hi Micah and thank you for starting a WIP. You can't go wrong with any of the vendors you identified and you shouldn't have an issue for basic clearance but keep in mind that it's not so much the armor but how the armor fits you and the care in building it. A couple of items to keep in mind: gloves - you'll want to order a size up as Wampa tends to run a tad smaller and for your soft goods make sure you order your shipping with tracking so you can follow it from the source. Regarding the blaster there are several vendors as well as 3D print versions available. You can check out the threads here: https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/74-rotj-biker-scout-weapons/ As always follow the CRL as that's what the GMLs are going to use to approve you into the Legion. Also make sure that you touch base with your local Garrison to start working with them and getting to know the troopers you will be deployed with. http://www.garrisontyranus.com/
  14. Hi James. There isn't a list per se and I believe that it might be a good idea and I'll discuss that with the armory staff. That being said if you print out the CRL that will give you a majority of the elastic strapping sizes for the armor, cotton webbing, and velcro for your boots and soft goods. We typically recommend a pair of lexan scissors for armor trimming, E6000 or Plastic-weld, Shoo-Goo for your boots, x-actos for boot cuts, zip ties for shoulders and thermal detonator, etc. Seeing that you have a few fantastic suits of armor you most likely already have a majority of the tools you need. Regardless I think your suggestion is a really good one and, as mentioned, I'll bring it up to the armory staff.
  15. Hi Micah! We really can't adjudicate it without seeing it. We do know that Walt is updating his bucks (molds) but we won't really be able to provide any insight until that is completed and there is a finished product. Please note that it's not the armor that will be banned but the helmet only. Walt has been working with the command staff on updates so we're looking forward to his changes. You can find a lot of information on the various armor vendors in the Biker Scout HQ here: As always the armorer staff is here to answer your questions so please feel free to post any questions you might have.
  16. Sounds like a minor fix. You're doing fantastic! Take care of the little things and we can't wait to hear the good news!
  17. If it's stiff enough it might be ok if all the dimensions check out. Might be worth taking your TD with the tube down to a few HW Stores in your area and compare them.
  18. @Minimo, @KOtrooper, or @BikerScout007 can you help this trooper with her question on the shoulder straps?
  19. Hi Justin this is looking really good and you should be able to get the hose sorted easily. Good positioning on the belt at your navel and not your waist. I wanted to share that your drop box straps look off white and you'll want to make sure that your chest/back armor strapping and your pouches match that same color per the belt section of the CRL. If using off-white cummerbund pouches and side straps, the drop box straps are also off-white. Just something to keep in mind as you progress though your build. Keep up the great work this is really coming together!
  20. Love the mockup Melanie! It's looking really good and kudos to you for doing it yourself! If you need the pattern for the pouches you can find it here: Keep up the great work!
  21. Those pics are fine. It looks like you'll need to bring your chest in a bit based on that second picture. Distance down your chest is about right so no worries there. Remember that you'll have the vest and cummerbund that sit under your chest/back armor so there's a bit of thickness there. You're doing a great job so keep it up!
  22. Looking good. Don't forget the red striping and the white circle for the tank topper. Check the CRL for more details. Good work!
  23. It's looking pretty good Bill. It looks that your vest sleeves are quite long so that might be an issue when it comes to approval. Typically the sleeves are 1.5-2 inches from the shoulder bell. Take a look at the CRL model. Keep up the great work it's coming together!
  24. Those are looking fine Justin. Keep up the great work and keep posting those great photos!
