@Chopper is right on. I can't tell you how many stress cracks I've had in my holster as well as my chest armor attachment. It's the nature of the armor and you're not doing anything wrong nor are you alone. You got a whole det of folks that deal with dings and cracks every troop. It's the nature of the hobby😁

I've had several pairs of @Chrisx909x boots and can attest that they are worth every penny. You won't go wrong if you decide to go with his product.

Patrol Troopers from "Jedi Survivor"

Honestly Justin you are seriously amazing! -
Agree with Arne on the biceps and forearms. Those should be rotated forward. Forearms should be over the top of your hand (glove gauntlet) and the biceps should be aligned with your shoulders. For basic the drop box distance from the belt isn't an issue but for lvl2 they should be around 1 inch (2.54cm) from the belt.

@KOtrooper, @Minimo, @BikerScout007 How is this update looking to you? -
Congrats Pathfinder!

It's approvable but you're still going to have to add the riding patches and butt flap. The mandarin collar isn't required any longer but is fine for basic approval. I would heed the earlier suggestion to get the Red Kap suit and mod it yourself or with the help of your garrison mates or a tailor. Check out a few of the links provided for the soft goods and you'll get a better idea of what you need. Keep asking those great questions!

I'll easily third Aradun and Choppers motion. I have that blaster and I can't recommend it enough!

Hi Florian! RS has a great tutorial on their helmet that might help you with your helmet kit. Give this playlist a review and hopefully it'll help you while you wait for your new helmet to come in. Looking forward to seeing you approved and out there trooping!

Hi Kirsten! Your chest/back armor is looking to be in the proper position. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll have a vest and part of the cummerbund under them so make sure you don't trim it just to fit over your flightsuit. I agree that your shoulder bells will need to be trimmed to fit you and that will help shift the biceps higher on your arm. When you trim be sure to take it in small increments checking the fit as you go along. It's easy to remove material but very hard to put it back if you go too far with a cut. Your trim lines are looking about right to start with. @M.J @KOtrooper I'd like to get your assessment as well. I think you're doing a great job so far so keep up the great work and please let us know if you need anything!

Excellent looking armor! Keep in mind that since your pouches are off-while that you may have to tint your drop box straps off-white per the CRL. You can easily stain them using a tea solution. Might be a good idea to check with your GML regarding acceptance. Keep up the great work!!

Buckets off. Rest well trooper. Condolences to his family and Garrison mates who will miss him.

@Jakeputt Can you help this trooper with his question? Thanks! -
Congrats Pathfinder! Well done!

Don't use pliers unless they are smooth jaw. If you do that you could impress the jaw marks into the plastic. Since you're heating the ABS you have to be careful not to burn yourself. Safety first so use something that won't give you a burn.

I don't think you'll need new chest back armor. I just think it was in the heat a bit too long. Open the shoulder and side and you should fit into it. You can clean it up a bit using the heat gun but tread carefully with it only going a little at a time and reform the ABS. Use tape to connect your shoulder bridges to get an idea of where they should connect and then you can trim and fit from there. Again, go slowly and methodically till you achieve where the armor should sit.

The cod is looking good. Your pouches are way too far "outboard" and need to be brought in closer to the edges of your bund ribs. Check the CRL model for positioning those at the best.

Give this thread a read through. I have Velcro on the back of my vest where the strap connects to under my bund.

Congrats Lancer! Well done!

TreeHuggerMatt Scout Trooper ( ROTJ ) WIP

I have been waiting to say this....Congratulations PATHFINDER!! What a magnificent journey my friend and you should be proud of yourself for all you've accomplished! Now it's time to suit up and go make some smiles! -
Hi Micah and thank you for starting a WIP. You can't go wrong with any of the vendors you identified and you shouldn't have an issue for basic clearance but keep in mind that it's not so much the armor but how the armor fits you and the care in building it. A couple of items to keep in mind: gloves - you'll want to order a size up as Wampa tends to run a tad smaller and for your soft goods make sure you order your shipping with tracking so you can follow it from the source. Regarding the blaster there are several vendors as well as 3D print versions available. You can check out the threads here: https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/74-rotj-biker-scout-weapons/ As always follow the CRL as that's what the GMLs are going to use to approve you into the Legion. Also make sure that you touch base with your local Garrison to start working with them and getting to know the troopers you will be deployed with. http://www.garrisontyranus.com/

Hi James. There isn't a list per se and I believe that it might be a good idea and I'll discuss that with the armory staff. That being said if you print out the CRL that will give you a majority of the elastic strapping sizes for the armor, cotton webbing, and velcro for your boots and soft goods. We typically recommend a pair of lexan scissors for armor trimming, E6000 or Plastic-weld, Shoo-Goo for your boots, x-actos for boot cuts, zip ties for shoulders and thermal detonator, etc. Seeing that you have a few fantastic suits of armor you most likely already have a majority of the tools you need. Regardless I think your suggestion is a really good one and, as mentioned, I'll bring it up to the armory staff.

WTF Scout Helmet v1 ban - effective 10 August 2024
Retrofire replied to BikerScout007's topic in Announcements
Hi Micah! We really can't adjudicate it without seeing it. We do know that Walt is updating his bucks (molds) but we won't really be able to provide any insight until that is completed and there is a finished product. Please note that it's not the armor that will be banned but the helmet only. Walt has been working with the command staff on updates so we're looking forward to his changes. You can find a lot of information on the various armor vendors in the Biker Scout HQ here: As always the armorer staff is here to answer your questions so please feel free to post any questions you might have. -
