Hi Frederick! The CRL doesn’t state that a rivet needs to be in the tank so you’re fine not installing one. Looking at the pics of the tanks in the reference photos in the Mando Armory HQ don’t seem to indicate one was used. https://i.imgur.com/DRE1tg0.png

Great work getting those picked out! The bund sits on top of the belt so those sections might be seen but the top will be under your chest so no worries there. Good on ya for updating your kit. You’re doing great so keep it up!

I recently recall that @Nathanzx10r put a system into his Biker Scout lid. Maybe check though his build thread here: @Jakeputt or @ferra have you had any experience with a cooling rig in a Kashyyyk lid?

The cutouts are looking fine. If you’re using an X-Acto knife and not a Dremel take it slow and easy. I ended up with a stint in the ER explaining to an amused doc how I cut myself. You were doing what now?

I am SO geeked you’re building a biker scout! Ok enough of that😁 The right ear looks just fine but the left could use a little attention around the lower portion. You can go with either choice of adhesive but E6000 might be a little more forgiving than the 3M tape if something goes awry. I’m not sure if that 3M stuff will lend itself to being removed and repositioned.

Hi Turnjanicza and welcome to the Pathfinders! It’s great to have a member of the GA with us! Your boots are looking real sharp cadet and you should be proud. There are some great Work In Progress (WIP) threads that you can check out in the Mandalorian Armory section here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/203-scout-trooper-the-mandalorian-armorhelmet/ There are a ton of great techniques for weathering and building your kit. Make sure you stay in touch with your local GA reps and local Garrison http://www.501eslegio.hu/ Once you turn 18 we look forward to having you as a 501st Pathfinder but in the meantime we’re happy to help you learn anyway we can.- 1 reply

[woobiee] 1st and New build! (Lancer probably)
Retrofire replied to woobiee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
@Chopper not much to add that you already haven’t covered. Andy you’re doing a great job so far so keep it up. One thing I do when I dress is that once I get my knees on and before I put my boots on I pull the excess fabric taught below my knees. That helps get rid of the creasing/bunching that inevitably happens. I did end up adding stirrups to my flight suit to help keep everything in order while I troop but it’s good practice to adjust that type of stuff as you put on each layer. Remember too that your going to be spending a few hours trooping in the gear so keep it comfortable especially when bending or stooping. The littles love it when you get down to their level and visit with them and you don’t want things too tight. -

Hey no worries Matt take your time and get back to it when you can. I finally got my first shot here about a week ago and my second is the beginning of June. You just relax and take some time in garden and study your calc. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready.

Well done Pathfinder!

🤞This! Here’s the order I typically stick to when I dress: Flightsuit Knees Boots (these are a devil to put on once your chest and belt are on...at least for me) Vest Bund Belt (I do this before my chest to adjust the bund to sit above the belt) Chest/Shoulders Biceps Depending on the time I’ll wait to put on my gloves and forearms Bucket Then have another trooper look you over and adjust as needed to look sharp!

Hi Jenny! Overall the sizing looks ok but the arc looks a bit low. What typically happens when it’s low is that it’s not easily seen since your cod strap will pull it under. I’ve attached a pic of the CRL photo for you to review. Notice how much higher the arc is? I believe you’ll need to come up around 2-3 inches at least. A great way to gauge how high you need to be is to sew the cod then use a pattern cutout and overlay it on the cod. That way you can move it up/down and get confidence of its location before committing to the needle. @Chopper what are your thoughts?

Sorry for the late reply here @Philscratch and @Chopper I’ve been visiting my grandparents in New Mexico and catching up on some maintenance for them that I was kept from during the COVID lockdowns. That said I’m not seeing anything that you already haven’t captured Chopper. I think once you address that back armor it should start to pull everything together. I’d like to encourage you to also keep pinging your UKG GMLs and get a read from them as well. We can, and will, help you meet the CRL but they’re the ones with approval authority so it’s best to continue keeping them in the loop. I’d like to mention that I think you’re doing an outstanding job Phil and your armor just keeps getting better and better!

Hey Marcel we got some great Shoretrooper Armorers that can help you with this. Hi @ScaryGuy @Minimo and @KOtrooper can you help this recruit with this armor question? Many thanks!

Hey Cat glad to see you back at it! Hope the semester is going well for you. I can see what you saying regarding sizing but you’ll want to tread lightly when thinking about modifying measurements in the costume requirements. I would very much recommend that you reach out to your GML there in the FL garrison before committing. -
Congrats Pathfinder!
