It would probably help if the CRL offered a range of sizes based on what was easier to acquire in a particular troopers locale. I've used the Lancer specs to guide my build, I'm just not going out of my way for 35mm elastic since I can get all the 1.5 inch I'd know what to do with at Joanne's Fabrics. And IMHO, there's a stronger argument that the movie scouts probably did use 1.5.

Yeah if 1/8th an inch is gonna keep me out.... so be it. It'd be one thing if we had an absolute authority on what the elastic sizes are, but these are all educated guesses. And my guess is that the movie suits were made in the US with Imperial measurements.

The SC kit is pretty thorough. Pretty much everything you need is in there.

Or you just buy 1.5 inches and don't sweat the 1/8th inch

They seem to be correct as far what's been agreed upon. I looked over my Return of the Jedi blu ray as reference and couldn't find any evidence of the thigh patches even being on the suits. The elastic straps seem to come right under the butt. They are hard to see, but they are there:

Ha! Yeah but only for the patches and the boots. Dude's collar is wrong, the vest sleeves are too long, the holster is strapped to the boot and he has a weird gap between the belt and the cummerbund. He'd never make Lancer!

KS finally wrote me back today. A real, live email! Said they were shipping end of the month....

Yes they did. And I had to glue them twice because like a dummy I forgot to take the protective plastic OFF the TD first. hahaha

You just need to bust out the seam on the opposite side of the leg. then you can sew it without too much trouble

Well since I ordered mine two weeks before you ordered yours, maybe mine will be shipping soon. Who knows, they haven't responded to my emails!

Right, I paid the extra money to have it assembled as well. 6-8 weeks they said. Well 8 weeks was yesterday. And emails go unanswered. Definitely can't recommend.

I'll say. Han Solo frozen in carbonite is more responsive. When did you order from them? I would have preferred SC, but I heard that the KS buckets are better for those of us with expansive craniums.

Well this is where I'm at. Still need the bucket, flak vest and blaster. Have to sew on the suede to the flight suit as well. Any suggestions are welcome!

Yeah I'm no expert costume maker so I'm sure you are right. But the way I look at it, the 501st and Lancer standards don't call for it so I'm not going to bother. There's enough small details to get right just to make Lancer!
