  1. Good stuff. I'm going to use the leftover pocket for that.
  2. Did you put a rivet on both sides? I have one on the outside and I think I'll put one on the inside also. I haven't seen anything about putting one on the inside.
  3. Thanks Jim, the pockets are done. I'll have to take the legs in. Crotch to shoulders it's good.
  4. Looks great!
  5. Here's a picture of my red kap suit on me. I think I'm going to have to take in some parts like the legs. I was going to work on the riding patch today, put on the suit, and figured it was a bit wide. Top to bottom it's fine, but on the sides and legs it feels a bit loose. I held the elastic on the thighs and it buckled a lot. Thoughts???
  6. Did some solid work on my boots tonight. Really learning a lot about this stuff and the dedication that it takes to build stuff like this. It really gives you pride in what you wear. My dad was like, "Why didn't you just buy white boots." Because it's cooler to build them.
  7. That's a good point. I'm going to check that out tonight when I finish mine up.
  8. Got it at JoAnn. There was so much stuff that I was getting that night, I was probably staring right at it and just spaced out. Will be working on it tonight. Thanks.
  9. I haven't trooped in them but if you find them tight now, they'll definitely fit better.
  10. Here's what I did this weekend. I feel that it worked well for me. The gloves fit fine originally but I think it adds a bit more room if you're in between sizes. There's three layers inside the gloves. The thin black fabric, the grey foam, and then the outer leather glove. The foam is attached to the black liner and separates very easy. The liner fingers come right out of the leather ones and are only attached by the end of the gauntlet and the V cut. By making the incision along the seam, the glove was easily turned inside out to take out the foam. The hardest part was getting the liner set back inside the fingers. Wasn't really that bad though. Hope this helps.
  11. Great it worked. Here's my modifications on the SA gloves. Living in Florida I felt that the insulation inside will make them warm over the summer months. I made a cut at the edge of the gauntlet and pretty much turned it inside out.
  12. Photobucket test. (Still a newguy)
  13. Fixing the issue with photobucket now.
  14. It's saying that I can't load anymore pictures.
  15. The SA gloves are great but I just felt like they were going to be a little warm from trooping in Florida. Here are some pics I took while removing the foam on the inside. It was pretty easy and the gloves fit a little looser now. I didn't remove the cloth liner on the inside, only the foam. I was able to glue the cut I made with goop and it sealed up perfectly.
  16. Yesterday I did the front area of my boots. I'm going to let the glue set for a day or two before finishing them up. I found that using a heat gun worked great with the vinyl.
  17. What kind of elastic did you use? Having a tough time finding 2''.
  18. Just ordered my bucket from MLC. Excited that this is the last piece I need to order. Now to get as much done this weekend so I can wait for the armor and helmet.
  19. I finally got the nerve up last week to join the boards and start my build. Helmet - Communicating with MLC for an order. Armor - SC has been ordered 8-10 weeks. Flight Suit - Red Kap received. Bun/Pouches/Vest - Ordered from a local friend who is working on it now. Gloves - SA received and modifying the inner lining for Florida weather. Blaster - PA just need to clean the edges and paint. During the last week I've received a few items. Yesterday was the best when three items came in the mail. First Item, Balaclava. I'm going to work on the boots Sunday. I friend gave me some of the supplies. The gloves are great! I'm going to fix up the living space. Blaster will also be on my Sunday Arts and Crafts day. Red Kap suit. More work for Sunday Funday!
  20. Nice about the gloves. Can't wait to see some more pictures.
  21. Lookin' good brother!
  22. With my excitement to get my gloves ready, I'm probably going to do the liner this weekend. I'll go slow and try to take some pictures. They're SA and fit perfect right now but in South Florida they're going to be crazy warm I would think. I'm going to purchase a nice cotton glove to wear underneath.
  23. Awesome! Great description. My suit just came in tonight and I will for sure use this. Thanks.
  24. I see them now. I think it looks just fine. It might be cheaper to eat a couple cheeseburgers. ;-)
