Scout.Trooper's Scout Trooper Build!
jyjellyfish77 replied to scout.trooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Also, your fish hook on the side of the helmet is upside down. It needs to be rotated 180 degrees. It's the accurate fish hook so make sure that if you can't reuse the one you have, make sure you find on trooper bay or ebay the same hook. -
Scout.Trooper's Scout Trooper Build!
jyjellyfish77 replied to scout.trooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
First suggestion from me, try using photobucket or something like that so you can copy and paste the image link into your comment to make it easier for people to see your pictures. For the rivet gun I just looked up some videos on youtube. There's some good ones on there and once you see how to do it, it's real easy and you want to rivet everything. I went through PandaTrooper's build feed when building a lot of my armor. It's very good and the descriptions really help when it comes to putting on the tank. Good luck! Enjoy! -
or check trooperbay

which is most accurate?
jyjellyfish77 replied to spookymufu's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I have an MLC and bought it directly. Fiberglass with minimal work needed (decals and lens). -
I'm about 23 7/8th and my MLC fits great. It's and awesome fiberglass bucket. I use military style pads inside that are 3/4 inch thick.

Attention- new lancer added to the ranks

Congrats!! -
Yeah I think, bring in the top and sides of the chest like Marcel said. I'd also look at taking the legs in a little since they're kinda baggy. Doesn't look terrible at all. Get some helmet pads in the helmet to keep it from bobble heading. You'll probably need an extra set to fill it up. Is that an MLC bucket?

Brand New MLCv3...where to start?
jyjellyfish77 replied to ShaunPug's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The MLC comes with bolt covers that are pretty good, I still use them. All I needed was helmet pads, lens, and decals. I got mine about 6 months ago. I wouldn't recommend the hard hat band because it doesn't really match up with the holes well. I love the military helmet pads because they can be moved all over. Enjoy it, it's a great bucket. -
I've used the foam underneath and also Panda's method. Seems to fix it.

It's a good suit. I'm not sure of the CRL for the snow scout. Check with Heavy since he was just approved with his snow scout.
-
Cool but kinda gives me heartburn to look at. Good use for the Rubies bucket though.
-
Looks good! I'd move the thigh boxes back a little so their more even, front to back. I carry my iPhone in my pouch and sometimes my wallet in the other. I wouldn't carry much else unless I was at a con and really needed it.

Yeah you know there'd have to be Sand Scouts. Would be cool to see. Love my clean scout though.

Technical question regarding the belt
jyjellyfish77 replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
With my limited time as a pathfinder, it looks good to me. My question is, what size is your waist? The rear strap coming up to the waist belt from the thigh box should be toward the back. If you have a thin waist I can see that the plastic part of the belt would wrap toward your back and you'd need to attach it where you did. It'd be better if we could see the belt on you for reference. Good Luck I'm a 38 inch waist so you can see what I'm working with in my signature picture. -
The SC armor instructions show two rivets. I painted mine white so they're unnoticeable.
-
I sewed mine to the bun and use suspenders to hold my bun up. Then the suspender straps hide under the vest. The clasp of the suspender also keeps the armor from lifting past the top of the bun. Just my personal way of getting my pouches, bun, and armor to look right. I'm not lancer by any means though.

Stays in my husky rolling toolbox.

Hey scouts. In an attempt to always better my scout I've come across these boots and thought they'd be super comfortable. Only concerns I have is with the toe and cuts of the sole that are already there. What about the difference with the upper fabric where most have leather? I also included a pic from when I was messing around this weekend for my trading cards.

Cleanup advice on used helmet...? (Image heavy!)
jyjellyfish77 replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I agree with changing out the snout piece for sure. Is there a riser on the snout? I'd also confirm that it's an MLC. -
I send mine through as one piece.
-
Lookin good! I was told this with mine, move the thigh boxes back a little so they're more to the middle. Good luck!

SO EXCITED (SC Build Thread)
jyjellyfish77 replied to Rainfly's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Lookin good. I'm not sure what the answer is about the helmet. -
Such a cool idea though. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
