Helmet Assembly (AKA: "Am I doing this right?")
Stroker replied to keys's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
You could sand the back middle part of the visor to get a better closure. Just take it easy and don't take much off. Lens area looks super nice. Your probably gonna have to live with a little gap in between the face and dome. My LW has a slight gap. Lastly I would sand the excess off the bottom of the face plate to keep both sides even. -
Well I'm about the same. I don't use them because it's just more to have to tote around. Most scouts that I know that uses a setup are acker amps and so on. I'm not keen on the topic at hand. There's a trooper around here that has a scout setup. I can't recall the name however.

Even with my hyperfirm blaster I still get a sag. Maybe strider will save us...
-
Seam filling is optional as of right now. However I encourage folks to do because the screen used helmets were that way. It's up to you at this point. Look at seam filling as extra credit.
-
Basic first and then Lancer if you so wish. I know it can be a bit confusing when your new to the 501st. I was a mess!

Happens to use all. Have a look at Pandatroopers build. He added a adjustable strap to the inside of his boot. That's what I had to do.
-
Very nice build. If I was you I'd knock the black back on the snout. It should only come up the edges about a third of the way. You can get cheap yellow foam from Walmart super cheap.

KW designs Helmet Bolts in an SC helmet
Stroker replied to Brew2d2's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'm a welder and deal with the 3m bolts all the time. If I was you I'd just cut the back off and glue them on. Theyre easily broken and tend to wear quick. I go through a set a month during the summer. -

Well there's two ways. 1 cut the corresponding holes out to accept the bolts. 2 you can cut the back side of the bolt off and glue them on. Which I've done both. -
Looking good! Very nice work!

Nice work and love the TD box design.

I need one of your new scopes bud!
-
I'm all for a long gun. DLT-19 is my pick. It just looks good in the hands of a scout.
-
Its was present on the screen used boots. Just a bit smaller.
-
Your bund looks like the closure is to far to the left? Also your pouchs could go up a bit along with the belt.
-
7x8.5" will probably be a good fit. Trust me we all been through it. I'm redoing my cod piece again for the 3rd time. We're here to help

Looking good to me! Nice job. -
You've probaly seen this before. However it's my go pic for pouches.
-
I would try and shorten them a bit. You still want a pouch a little longer than wide.
-
Pouchs can be a pain trust me. The flaps are too short. They should come all the way to the bottom of the pouch. They seem to be long. How tall are you?

No it's optional as of now. I just couldn't tell the photos were conflicting. -

Quick question. Did you fill the seam on the helmet where the dome meets the rest of the helmet? One picture it looks as you did and the other I can see a seam on the edge. -
Looks good. You might want to try and glue the dog bone down a little more.
