Is my helmet too big for me? (ks)

Looks good to me -
The magic web is the best thing ever. There are a couple diffrent kinds. Make sure you get the "Heavy Duty". This is the one that only requires a hot iron. Some of the others you need a wet hankercheif or cloth over your patch. The wetness makes steam in turn melts the glue. I've used both & the HD is easiest & stonger.

Pic up under "my riding patch"
-
Hi All, I didn't want to hijack someone elses thread. But a couple of you asked for pics of how I did my riding patch. I originally used the template found here. But it was too hard matching up the two pieces & it left a missing wedge shape in the butt area. I didn't like this at all. So I got a large manilla envelop & made a 1 piece template. I layed my jumpsuit flat as possible & traced a nice shape that I was happy with. Folded the template in half to make both sides exactly the same. Once I was happy with the shape I traced it onto my micro fiber & cut about 1/2" wider all the way around & sewed a hem. I bought some heavy duty "magic web". I layed the patch over the micro web & cut the same shape out. Once again I layed my jumpsuit flat as possible, placed the magic web & patch where I wanted it. I placed my leg bands where I wanted them under the patch. Slowly placed a hot iron on it & raised & reapplyed the hot iron until I covered the entire patch. Once it cools it is permenant, sewing is not needed if you use the HD magic web. I sewed the patch onto the jumpsuit for extra security. I used micro fiber because I can throw my entire jumpsuit into the washing maching vs taking it to a dry cleaner & paying extra because it's real suede. My riding patch & mud flap are both made of black micro fiber. Also the price was a lot cheaper than real suede. I paid $4 for an entire yard. This same process can be used for real suede as well. Here's a pic of my completed riding patch. Hope this helps.....

Hello, Was thinking of making some new boots. I was wondering what evertone uses. If you use a smooth leather or suede boot? Which will the glue stick too better?

I had the same problem with my bund sagging. I used a pair of elastic suspenders from Walmart, $7. I originally had a HD pair of suspenders, but they were a little to heavy. This worked out great on a troop this weekend. As for the pouches I used velcro. I pined the hook part to the bund & placed the loop on the backside of the pouch. Now I test fitted the pouch, put on the bund & looked in the mirror. I adjusted accordingly.

I have a Kenner Blaster. I sanded mine with fine sandpaper all over. I used Walmart paint, .99 a can. Gray primer, silver paint & finally semi flat black. Usethe same used sandpaper gently now & take off the sheen & a lil harder on the corners & edges to show the silver. Will come out battle damaged.

Not sure where your located. But with internet sales it shouldn't matter. Order an Under Armor Balaclava. They come in Heat & Cold Gear styles. Either one should work fine. The diffrence being is the Heat Gear has a lite fleece lining. You can adjust the mouth covering to cover your mouth & nose or pull just above your chin. This is where I wear mine. I live in Bakersfield Ca & it gets hot here in the summer, 100'+ I use the Cold Gear because I like the way it felt compared to the Heat. Heat Gear is much thinner.

I just slip mine over like a TShirt.

Actually if your wearing a vest the collar is the only visible area & that is mostly covered by the helmet. So your golden. If you can't find anyone in your area to do this. PM me & we can work some thing out. -

I was thinking of your problem yesterday. Lets tackle the easy one first, the sleeves. You can add extra material to each sleeve to make the appropiate length. Ive seen this done with pant legs. The seam would be hidden by the gloves. Now the hard part, the back. I would cut it straight down the middle from the collar to the waist & add a wedge of fabric. This will add the needed width. The extra material & seams wouldnt be visible due to being under the vest & cummerbund. The only visible area should be the most upper back & neck. We're talking about 4" of visible material. -
Hella Nice!!! Want one. But I reallly want one of the prototype clear ones for my desk.

Hi All, Just have a dumb question. I have a troop comming up this weekend & wanted to know the proper placement of the forarm armor piece. Does it go inside or outside of the glove? I tried finding screencaps, but couldn't fnd any with the forarm in clear view. All the cosplay images online show both in & out.

Hi All, Just wanted to sow some pics of my completed Scout. My wife dressed me & I didn't check myself in the mirror. Didn't see that my belt was hanging. I've since fixed the problem so it wont do than anymore. Gonna wear it this weekend at WonderCon.

I used this pattern on my first go around. Gotta say it didn't look good at all. Trying to match up two seperate pieces was way too hard. It left a wedge shapped gap in th butt area. I took it off & layed out the jumpsuit flat. I then traced a nice one pice shape that I was happy with. Cut & applied with "HD Magic Web" Then for added security I sewed it in place.

I use the RedKapp coveralls for my Scout & Tie Pilot. Belive me the scout was a easier conversion. Always easier to remove pocket than make new & sew on.

Im in So Cal. What exactly do you need done? -
Just finished my buttflap. I used microfiber. Has the look & feel of suede, but can be thrown in the washing machine. Used the same material for the gusset.
