Cool yeah me and the girlfriend used the 15ft rule and it was hardly noticable at all so I'm not sweating it. My ocd kicked in while I was prepping it for the top plate so I wanted to make sure. But thank you for the reply

ok so I am going over the hump of my armor today for the first time since getting my armor and I noticed that the cut lines on the under side are off. IMAG0247.jpg by shdowfire, on Flickr I'm not sure how big of a problem this is really or if I should try to sand down one side...or what to make it work...options? (there are more pictures of the hump in my flicker gallery)

Armor Decals, paint or what?
shdwtrpr13 replied to shdwtrpr13's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Ok cool I'll stick with the 6 thin then, and I'll check with MC this week....or next since CV 6 is this weekend about the decals. which leads me to what paints would be best for the Tank greebies red strip and white dot? -
Armor Decals, paint or what?

thanks for the heads up...now then the rank bars on the back hump...does anyone know the rank system for those bars? -
so as I'm getting my armor together I'm unsure what do use for the decals/details on the armor. or where to go to get it all.

so I'm working over this problem. I'm trying to figure out how to work the weight mangment. I want to make my pouchs' usable. What I'm trying to figure is where to attatch the pouchs. I don't want the bund to be weighed down by what I store in the pouchs. I have figured that I may attatch the pouch's to the vest, maybe the armor. But when I think about attatching the pouchs to the armor I think i may shift the armor. As for the bund I plan on having a velcro strip on the inside to attatch it to the vest to make it more stable and hold in place. So your thoughts?

shdwtrpr13 replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
thanks for the advice. I have SC armor and Loved how yours came out with the returned edge. I also noticed that it could be something I can do later on down the road. I love the look and yes your right is does look a lot more finished. so Until my skills build up I will use the rest of your tutorial for my work on my armor. -
Pandatrooper's SC Biker Scout build
shdwtrpr13 replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I just got my SC armor in the mail this week and I'm reading through your tutorial right now. Thank the sith that I did because I'm somewhat clueless since this is my first scout and my garrisons are all on the southern part of the state. Any tips on how to return the edge on the front and back plates if we don't have your handy tool? -
ok I have 2 question that I need help with. 1. what glue to use and where to get it locally 2. 501st CRL quote; the chest armor and back plate should be joined together over the shoulder and the gap covered with a loop of white fabric. :end quote: How is this done and what materials are used?

If only that feeling manifested itself in such a way I'd.....uh...armor build armor build armor build....slave leia....

Ok what would be a better fabric for.the binder. Twill or duct cotton?
-
ok so in the build of my scout I know I will need a holdout blaster but... what would make for a good secondary weapon? Scout carbine, sniper, DLT-9, or some random mando weapon? choice's choice's, and every one I think about I think is cool. Whats your guys opinions?
-
hmm guess that means the jump suit first the vest then the bund after I order and fit my armor...didn't realize that the belt was supposed to be just under the hem of the bund
-
thanks for the good info. since I larp I have loads of Blue mat foam around easily accessable. and I didn't thing of that for the snap at the cod piece I'll have to check in to that area. I was thinking of how hard it would be to hit the can though, so theres one idea. as for the cumberbunb being too long.....think I should wait until I get my hard armor, i.e. belt and chest before I make this so I don't mess it up?

Ok so we are measuring my flight vest and when I put it on I noticed it was a tad loose. I don't want to say baggy. And I was wondering if it would be a problem. Also I just want to clarify some things. 1. Elastic thigh strap, 2" wide just above the mid thigh. 2. Sued for riding patchs, real sued or is foe ok for lancer.( the lancer fro says real but I've ready.for was ok a few places.) 3. Vest light cotton canvas black, goes under the bind, velcro patches to secure buns and vest together. 4. Cumberbund 2 inch velcro attatching the back closures. Black 2" elastric band from cod to attatch to the back of the bund, sewn to the back.(sewn). Bund to measure from hips to under the nipple line. Work will start this week. I'll be buying the fabrics tomorrow. And pictures to come soon. (forgive any errors. This post sent from.driod phone)

Ah didn't think of that. So maybe a velcro system to bind the bind and vest when wearing it all.
-
So I'm new here and I'v seen several ideas about the Bund slipping issue. I'm wondering if anyone had tried making the bund and the vest as a single piece. no slip now droop and a good way to minimize the number of costume piece's. My 2 cents at least

shdwtrpr13 replied to Letha's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I love this thread it gives me ideas for what to put into my costume and how to make it more then just something pretty when I make it. I am looking at fun thinks from think geek and at my local surplus stores to would work. I'll be working on my cumberbund starting this week and the pouchs. once their put together I'll be filling them with goodies (nerf clip, ration box, suplies) for the kids to get another dimention. Agian thank you. so many ideas and thoughts to work with. -

shdwtrpr13 replied to shdwtrpr13's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hmm guess its more popular to have your Mic rigged to you pouch then. Good to know, this way it will keep my bucket light and reduce any heat from electrics
