  1. Ok to leave as is?
  2. No on the outside. There is a little notch above the nose, which I have seen painted on some and not on others.
  3. Hey guys, is the notch above the nose supposed to be painted black???
  4. I sent mine Saturday and not approved yet. I had to suit up again with the fixed lens for pictures. Wouldn't worry about not hearing yet.
  5. Agreed, an action pose is a must! Looks great bro! Yeah you shouldn't have any issues with approval.
  6. Tim, All credit to Matt for his gracious tutelage and support. But, frosty beverages are always welcome at the Selph household!
  7. Bro that's sharp! Only thing I could see is that your GML may want better lighting for the pics. You can't see the details as clear, like the black strips on the cummerbund. You may also want to raise the biceps for comfort. I've noticed though, with the biceps raised, they bump the chest and back joining pieces under my arms. Finally, do you think the riding patch needs to be weathered at all? I would ask smarter people than I, but it seems to stand out from the weathered appearance of the rest. The lens looks good man. Overall, I don't think you're going to have a problem. You have done a fantastic build, got me through mine (along with the usual suspects around here, (Matt)), and what's more amazing, that this is your first build! Great job. I submitted pics Saturday, but not heard anything back yet. You may beat me to 27 yet!
  8. Allan, Lowes carries lexon and other plexi. I got a squard foot piece of lexon for like 2 bucks already cut. I just used my old lens, traced the pattern, and then I had to use my cutter bit on the Dremel to cut it out. The other plexi I got shattered and chipped when I tried to cut it, but the lexon worked perfect. Tim, I have extra Lexon and the extra film you can grab Saturday from my house.
  9. Thanks for the heads up Matt! Got the film pulled off from the glue, cut a piece of clear lexon for the new lens, and put it on the right way. Worked great!
  10. Nice! Cummerbund is looking nicely weathered.
  11. I just used CA glue for te buckle and worked great so far. I also notched a little at the bottom if the belt under the buckle so the leather could loop through. Just used some fingernail clippers to cut it. I may redo my lens. The tint is a little wrinkled.
  12. Alright, take 2. New submission photos including the new cummerbund, greyed drop pouches, and mirror lens. Let me know what you guys think. http://s1066.photobucket.com/user/bselphfsu282/library/Kashyyyk%20Trooper%20Submission
  13. I almost forgot as well! I cut out the shape out of the vinyl letters that you out on your mail box, that I got from walmart, and then cut the strips with a hobby knife, lifting every other one out. It was easier than doing a stencil for me. And that's fantastic for your first build! I've done a few, but this is by far the best I've done. The TD I did turned out poor, an the 2 tuskens were great, but no actual armor on them.
  14. So the black strips just stop on the belt and not the cummerbund base? Hey, I'm sure ill have more to fix!
  15. Looks great bud! You've done very well on this build! Did you do the lines under the eyes yet?
  16. That's awesome! How did you paint the belt? I was going to do shoulder straps as well, but just not needed once I actually put mine on.
  17. Good call. Man, I did that on the TD I did and not smart enough to do it here. I'm losing it!
  18. Nice Allan! So close now, I'm sure it's driving you crazy! Are you going to do any Velcro in the pants or shirt to keep the knees or biceps in place? I was considering but my knees stay in place pretty well, but my biceps are a little lose. I ran a connector like Matt showed, but it just doesn't feel as stable.
  19. The only issue I see is that your shims stop short of the top. I'm afraid the icing wont have anything to grip to to make it level with the tops of the shins. You'll end up with a weak spot there that could crack or chip off. You can just add another piece there and trip even with the tops, the put the bondo. I'm also not an expert in icing or bondo, so you may be ok, but that is my theory.
  20. I thought the forearm straps were supposed to have the rubber in the middle as well?
  21. Zipping in the side, while seemed like a good idea at the time, comes with a host of issues, mainly, it does not want to hold on your body as well as being done in the back. Also, the gap under the back of the tank, after the initial lip, allows the zipper to sit well. On the side, since I'm guessing a few pounds could be shed by myself, caused the zipper head to push right into my ribs. Good thing I figured this out with old fabric before starting on new one.
  22. Yep, still does chewie a good bit. Just changed out the stilts to buckets and redid the feet, but man he didn't have to thread that undersuit with the hair. A new face mold is in the works as well, but that's next paycheck! If you can't find the pin stripe tape, let me know. I have a huge roll and I can ship you some.
