  1. Looking good bud! You may need to add Velcro and take off the top button. Just depends if it will be seen about the chest. Welcome to the swamp!
  2. I can't recall summer or winter but the dark one with the lines is the weather proof one. Go for the other.
  3. ........hum, this is not a bad idea!
  4. Looks like you got 2 different kinds of soft parts, the regular cotton and then the weather resistant kind. The regular cotton, shown with the lighter more brown color, looks a little more correct. I don't believe with all the dye in the world that you will be able to match the two due to the different kinds of fabric. I would grab a shirt or pants to match the other and then try to dye it.
  5. Thanks bud! I think we are just going to grab a big sheet since a few guys here are doing a build
  6. Gerald, where did you get the reflective lens tint? Got a buddy who is doing a build now and I'm out.
  7. Hey Tim, where did you get your riding patch from?
  8. Man that is a fantastic build thread! Great work and love the paint job. Couple of tips though. The Velcro didn't work for me. Between the heat and walking, they kept popping off. I had to add snaps to the inside side of my toe caps and then male end of snap I put on the boot itself. Works great now. Also, with the buckle, it kept wanting to come off. I eventually made a bracket that went from the bottom of the buckle to the belt and then put in a rivet so that sucker is not going anywhere!
  9. Star Wars weekends tomorrow!!!! We've got Gree and 3 wookies, time for photoshoot with the elite! You coming right?
  10. Congrats and I know it's been a long time coming!
  11. Still can't get over the paint. May pull mine out this weekend and rework mine
  12. Allan took the words out of my mouth on the greebs. Should be an easy fix. Also, I can't tell from the photos, but is your lens reflective? I got dinged for this when I tried to submit and had to rely on grumps and Allan to help get a fix. I would use the lens you have now as a temple and pic up some clear plexi and put the reflective green window tint over it. The BC lens is just too dark with the tint over it.
  13. Yeah real life has gotten me a bit busy as well! With the wife traveling for work, it has been Mr. Mom around the household
  14. I bought just a tan work boot from WalMart. I got it about 20 bucks but just made sure to get one with large lugs. I had to then take a dremel to it to create more of and arch, but it was quick and easy to do. No need to spend insane money and have to deal with a hassle.
  15. I tried just the Velcro but every time my foot flexed, it kept pulling until it pops off. I added snaps to the insides of the armor and to the shoe itself, much like the boots in the Jango armor I had, but I kept feeling like they were going to pop as well. The strap I added is more if just peace of mind
  16. Man that is looking nice! Another idea being stolen from you!
  17. I did something similar but attached the other end to the laces and not the pants or shin. Works pretty well
  18. I still can't get over the paint job. The weathering makes it that much better as well. You've done a fantastic job!
  19. Sounds like your in good shape!
  20. Good luck with the build bro. Best advice I can give is to pick over the more recent BC armor builds. Most have plenty of pictures and we are always willing to give suggestions!
  21. The pulls are fantastic and thanks so much bro! Brandon just dropped them off last night and unfortunately I'm out of town for the holiday. Man we have got to get your rig finished! Holiday parades are coming up! Thanks again!
  22. Allan is correct. I used CA glue/Zap a Gap with the kicker/accelerant and it has held well. I screwed up and glued the box to the bicep upside down and it was pretty tough to rip off. Also, if you use the kicker just be aware that it will make paint run.
  23. I think it is pretty close. Much better than before. I was just hesitant about using foam, but the results speak for themselves!
