  1. Here's some close up pics of the lower bicept greebly. If anyone identifies it, post it up here. Would be awesome if someone could find it and make castings available (since the original ones were castings too). .
  2. The toe strip was just really thinned out leather. It appeared to be the same as the rest of the boot. The tip tops of the boot were also thinned out like this so that they could be folded over to make a finished edge without there being bulk when folded over and stitched. I think what you are referring to at the knees are the second pocket panel. There are two pocket panels per leg. Also they are not functioning pockets, just panels. I would very much love to see the found part detonator greeblies by themselves. Has the entire piece been identified? I've seen people's reproductions but I can't tell what parts are found parts and which parts are scratch built. Would love to see a photo highlighting these aspects. I'm not sure what you mean by cooling fins. I can post some really good pics of the lower bicept greebly too. It definitely appears to be another found model part. Also just as a side note, the original costumes didn't use the actual model part, they molded one and then made castings for all the suits. .
  3. Nice, that looks the closest so far.
  4. Anyone else having any luck?
  5. Just in case there was any confusion I wanted this thread and search to be solely about finding the actual stuff. And if we cannot find the actual stuff than whatever we can find that is the absolute closest to it.
  6. None that I would feel comfortable with as a stand it so far. ('Stand in' meaning that is what would end up on my suit if we never found the correct stuff). Hopefully with this many eyes on it someone will find it. I'm still looking too. Awesome to have you guys looking as well.
  7. Yeah it is for sure 2" on the original costumes.
  8. Sadly I can't remember.
  9. The original webbing is not nylon (plastic-ish). Also the faint white lines you see running down the length of the webbing is not colored stitching. One more thing if you look closely at the webbing, there is a little border edge on each side that is different than what is on the main body (sort of how velcro looks).
  10. I doubt it. I've never seen suspenders that wide or heavy duty. I was thinking some kind of safety belt strapping etc...
  11. I have searched everywhere for the thigh webbing. It is really thick. It is sort of fabric-ish, not plastic feeling. My memory says it has some stretch to it but honestly I can't remember. It is possible that it did not have any stretch. I've not seen anything that I though was really even close so far.
  12. Close is better than nothing until we find the real stuff. No one taking a stab on the thigh webbing? I actually think that's going to be the most difficult to find of the three items.
  13. yeah it certainly could be u channel, but if it is it's really small. like 1/8" - 3/16" ish wide. Also if it was u channel it would be really shallow channel, more square-ish
  14. The scouts were made bu ILM in California. They would use anything to get the desired look even cheap materials lying around.
  15. Chest back webbing is the same as the drop box webbing for sure.
  16. Hey guys I post my biker scout found part search list over in the Biker Scout HQ section. Head over and take a look. Prepare to have your minds blown a bit. Also, let me know if there is a better place to post that thread for the greatest visibility. Here's the link: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12492
  17. That is actually a gap between the bund and the belt. The black you are seeing in the gap is the flack vest.
  18. Ok guys I have searched the world for these items to no avail. I figured maybe someone here will someday find these items for our scouts. If you find them (or think you found them) send me an email at ginosabatinodesign@gmail.com and post here too. I'm not always on the forums but I always check my email. These are the black metal mounting clips that are riveted to the thermal detonator hose. Here's something you didn't know. The thermal detonator was not actually a hose, but rather some grey rubber cord/wire/trim that was wrapped around a smaller hose in a coil fashion to give the illusion of a hose. I think the width floats around 3/16" or 1/8" or 4mm -ish. This is the heavy elastic webbing used on the thighs. It's heavy duty and ribbed. Also if you look closely you can faintly see two or three thin white lines running down the center. Good luck!!! .
  19. Tim, I'm actually still in Columbus otherwise I would totally want to meet up. Patrik yep that's exactly right.
  20. No prob guys! And yeah Terry they were all like that. There are a few off-the-shelf items that I'd like to post to see if anyone can find. Just give me a few days and I'll post a thread with some pics.
  21. The strap is connected to the bottom of the cod, and then slides through a slider that is sewn into the back of the flak vest for adjustment. The bund and codpiece are not one unit. The flak vest, bund, and codpiece are 3 separate pieces. The codpiece is sewn to the bottom of the flak vest. The bund is attached to the flack vest. You can hang the entire assembly on a hanger as they are all hooked together.
  22. Hey Mickey do you have a specific question about the cummerbund? I don't mind answering questions that I can as long as people aren't offended when there are questions that I can't.
  23. I'll try to answer what I can, some I can, some I can't so if I avoid a question, it's intentional. Yes I've handled the original costumes/patterns. The under suit is a one piece bodysuit and is a cotton twill. The padded ribbing is part of the flak vest and has a very low cut neck line. It is wide enough that you can see the bodysuit neck opening sticking up from it. Only the sleeves are padded. The front chest and back are not. Like a baseball tee.
