Actually most of that comes with the kit from MC Take a look at one of the first pics I uploaded. There you can see all the parts I got from MC laid out on the floor. But some extra snaps and a bit of elastic wont hurt

Garh! They wont ship outside of the UK!

Yeah I have seen your thread at NG The paint is a tiny bit off from the plastic parts, once its dry, but not much. But one can is not enough Here is the chin cup compared with the bicep And thanks for the link mate I will be updating with pictures all the time. Almost takes and upload every tim I add a little detail hehe Here is my shoulder strap setup

So the helmet is evenly white and glossy now, but it dont have that smooth surface that I want so I will give it an extra layer to see if I can get that. The instructions on the can say that extra layers should be added within 4 hours of the first or after 36 hours from the last. Otherwise the paint could wrinkle. Dont want that, so will wait until tomorrow. I have also been trying to search for some vinyl for the boots, but dang thats hard to find! All I get is vinyl for use as photo backdrops or floors. Does anyone know a good place in EU where I can order some Marine grade vinyl? Well here is the helmet. And an overview of whats done so far. Correct greebs on the TD. Seems a bit crammed though. Bicep and forearms. Will be putting in some velcro that will keep it from sliding around, once I get my undersuit done. Installed the extra elastic on the knees as well. Will have to do something about those rivets poking out on the inside. Elastic on the bukles And I dont trust velcro alone, so added a snap as well. Still need the elsatic that goes around the arm. Will putt in snaps for this as well.

Hehe thank After a second and third coat the helmet looks real shiny, left in the sun to dry completely Also added the shoulders to the t-strap-thing

Well the time have finally come. I always knew it would but I dont think I wanted to realize it... Time to paint the helmet!!! Really need to do this right. A bad paint job can just ruin everything!! I made a test on the chin cup first to try the paint. The colour is good and matches the armour parts so thats good Time to setup the paint station. I live in a small apartement and dont have a balcony, so I have to be creative with this. And after first coat I put the helmet on two pieces of cardboard so I could turn them around and do both sides at the same time without touching the helmet. Will be giving it another layer in an hours time or so.

Building on a budget, and pulling it off. How about that Splendid job. Be sure to post a picture of you and your budy in your finished costumes

I believe I'm done with the belt now(exept for TD greebs). I installed a bit of elastic between the belt webbing and the buckle, to give it a bit of flexibility. Think I might do the same with the chest/back webbing.

Thats cool!! I hope youre keeping the colours it have now?!!

This is unreal!! Wanna say F-word-ing awesome TM is redoing his child size canon TK suit btw Might take som time before he will start runs on it though
-
Hehe I know you mean this well guys, but I will never retire my TK Its uncomfortable. Unhandy. Takes a long time to put on. BUT! its THE most awesome trooper in the galaxy An whe its a TM suit, I would never dream of letting it stay home on a big doll
-
Thanks Time to punch some holes then

Trying to get the belt right. The mannequin aint really my size, but its better than nothing Does this seem like the right distance between the boxes and the belt? And just for comparison and to show you how big the mannequin is. The TK is on a duct tape mannequin I made so its the same size and me.

Thanks for the kind words folks I have talked with the EC at the event, I was supposed to build this at, and a TB is not really that interesting to watch someone build. Especially not one from MC since its all cut out for you, and the rest is just sewing. So I will just build away now Had a little shopping spree in the hardware store today and picked up some items for this thing, and now i have made my blaster fit in the holster. Its a very crude method... But it works really well

Btw do anybody have any recomendation for painting the helmet? My idea is to use white gloss spray paint for cars.
-
Thanks I just hope the little speaker I have will be loud enough
-
Just throwing in the little progress I have as it comes. There were no hollow snout piece with the MLC helmet, so hollowed out the one supplied and made some holes in the helmet. I want a speaker in there Also filed out the holes already in the helmet.

Its greeblies, ON A STICK!

Cant help it. I cant sleep and that armour is just teasing me, tempting me, whispering in my ear "build me" Think the problem with the front and back, is where the shoulders meet. The angle is wrong for my body, so I think I will try and heat bend it a bit more into shape, as I am happy with how the strap is sitting straight. Did the striping on the tank as well, and after staring at the blue-ray frame by frame and the 360 wiev of the TB I found out that there is a part in the middle of the tank, where the black stripe is double the width. Never noticed that before. I have sewn in both front of the webbing connecting the torso and back btw. Will wait with the buckle until I have attached the tank. Also fiddled a bit more with the belt setup. And then a funny thing happened. I was washing and sanding the resin parts, when I dropped one of the resin cap bottles for the TD ends, and it then looked like this
-
Hehe yeah, but I really really have to hold back, if I am supposed to build this at our event next month... Will see if the EC think its any use to let people see me bend over a sewing machine. After all they also have a clone to build, wich I think is more interesting for the audience

Btw I will upload any pictures I take into THIS gallery on photobucket

Had to try a test fit today, just because I cant really wait to start assembly on this Will have to adjust the chest and back plates, so they are sitting straight, before cutting the exess at the shoulders, but right now I'm covering up the hole MC made in the back plate for the tank, as its very poorly done and it makes the tank sit weird.

Btw, if anyone have some good templates for the soft parts, Cummerbund, pouches, vest, riding patches, even a jumpsuit, it would be much apreciated. Think I have them covered already, but would be nice to see if you guys recomend what I already got
-
My thought exactly
-
Thanks everybody Although, the TK will still be my primary suit The TB was mostly an impulse buy, I made for for fun, and, well, just because I had some extra cash Also why the wait didnt bother me that much But yeah I think the assembly could be done in a matter of hours with this kit. The real trick would be getting all the soft parts done! The helmet bugs me a bit though. If I put in the chin strap, the strap pulls the helmet forward, making it kinda falling down in the front. If I leave the chin strap out and just use my padding, it sits really well. Although I'm not aiming for lancer, I would like to use the chinstrap. Any sugestions?
